Adaway slowing my fingerprint - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

So I have encountered this strange issue. When I install adaway, give it root permissions, my fingerprint reader gets a lot slower when unlocking the phone.
Does anybody else has this problem?

Problems with fingerprint reader

Weird problems are occurring.
I have to restart the phone everytime my fingerprint reader just doesn't respond anymore. If I spam the fingerprint reader with say 4-5 successful attempts, the reader would give out and say "swipe fingerprint sensor" and would not respond to any of my swipes until I restart it.
Is this a software issue or hardware? I have Gingerblur 4.5 installed.

anyone else having auto rotate issues

Anyone having auto rotate problems after todays update? I have done everything I know to do. including a softreboot.
I am getting a bit frustrated here...
I have .11 installed and same problem.
After entering in sleep mode on dock, autorotation stop to work.
After some restart, auto-rotation work again.
Using Elixir, I can see that all sensor stop activity and for game using sensor like Riptide this doesn't work also.
I think about a firmware bug.
that is the only thing I can think of too as it happened after the .14 update.
I continue to have the same problem with .14
Re-boot can sometime restart the sensors, but after a time thay stop oto work and auto-rotate stop working.
I read on other forum that some other are also affected by this problem but seems we are very few.
KevTN, have you solve this problem?
I try cold reboot, reset factory but didn"t solve.
Same problem here, right out of the box browser never worked (HAD TO INSTALL CHROME) and after ics update sensors randomly stop working with no reason, elixir 2 says the only available sensor is microphone, sometimes it works afteer reboot other times it tooks 2 or 3 reboots, but after short time it stop working again
I've had a slightly different issue on and off where I have auto-rotate turned off but it still rotates.

Fingerprint and other locking method don't work

hi, I had for many time noble 3.1 ultra debloat, and time ago with this rom I used the fingerprint locking method successfully. I disabled it, and used the pattern method, because I had to rent my phone for a while, and stayed with that until battery blow up. So I changed the battery and the connector flat, because my 3.5mm jack didn't work anymore, and made a clean flash of new noble 5.1. During the initial configuration, I wanted to set the fingerprint locking method, but after setting the backup pattern, userconfiguration crashed, and was not able to set the fingerprint (even learning my finger, it crashed before start reading my finger). Even if I try to set an other locking method, it crash after chosing the pattern, pin or password. I tought was a rom problem, so tried many roms, even stock 6.0, but no luck, same problem (6.0 said that he can't access to the fingerprint sensor, but if I try an other locking method, same crash as before with nougat). How can I solve this problem?
sorry for my very bad english!
thank you

Possible solution for still existing fingerprint scanner issues?

Hi,
I've read this thread and disabled battery optimisation for "com.samsung.android.biometrics.app.setting"* on my Note 10+ and Tab S6 (Wifi).
On both devices the fingerprint scanner is faster :good:
... and it seems to fix recurrent unlock problems with my Tab S6 too
* on some devices it's named "com.samsung.android.biometric"
Important:
it's not known yet if this might have any negative side effects (as battery drain or burning out the fingerprint sensor).
I also did it. But it doesn't make the fingerprint scanner faultless...
Hi, am I the only one having a problem with the fingerprint reader after upgrading to Android 10? ?
I have probably tried everything. Factory reset and clear cache partiotion do not help. The problem returns randomly. The reader stops working, and when I try to get to the settings I have the message: "Finger print sensor calibration needed " or "finger print sensor doesn't respond, try to reboot your device . If the problem persists, contact support "
I checked everywhere and there is no such thing as calibrating the fingerprint reader. Technical support also couldn't help me with the problem, they only recommended to send the tablet for service. ?
The problem has never appeared before the update so I bet that the problem is new software.
Any advice what else I could try?
The reader, when it starts to work, works much better than before the update, unfortunately more and more often it does not work at all.
The strangest thing is that sometimes it starts working after a regular restart. I have no idea what to think about it.
Something similar... It sometimes works like a charm. It sometimes stops working, but no message and no way to use it in order to activate the tab. In that case I have to use an alternative method to. I suppose a fix could be released after this update to Android 10...
solved
Hi there,
I've solved this issue. I have tab s6 4-5 month and I couldn't even register the fingerprint. today I tried again and I found out that you have to touch the scanner very gently, do not press firmly. so I could register 3 fingerprints and it is working. even with unlocking if you press harder it won't work you have to touch slightly and it is working. still it is not reliable as other scanners but it works. i'm providing the video, you can see when I touch gently it is working, but If I press harder it won't register.

Samsung galaxy s21 SM-G991B/DS app crashes and random restarts

Hey guys!
I've been experiencing some regular random restarts and app crashes. The phone restarts randomly with the Auto Restart Option being turned off and some of the apps crash and I get a notification that the app is experiencing multiple crashes. Then I go to the Device Care and I see that it says that a certain app has experienced multiple crashes. Some of the apps were the Camera App, GBoard, Settings, Google APP etc. Did not have any issues with the device until now. I have factory reset the phone and cleared the partiotion cache. Now the phone restarts randomly at least once a day but it still experiences the issue with the app crashes. Have you guys experienced something like this? I have researched the issue on the web but could not find any particular fixes. I do not think that this is a hardware issue as the phone charges (wired/wireless) and it does not restart randomly during charing. The device also connects to my pc with USB cable without problems as well. I also self checked everything in the Samsung Members app. Everything was working properly. Do you have any suggestitions or advise on how to fix that?
Many thanks!!!!!

I don't have a suggestion for an instant fix. But I suspect one of two possibilities:
1) One other non-Google app running in the background is the culprit.
You don't say whether you did a massive uninstall of apps. Either uninstall one at a time to see if there's improvement. Or all of them.
2) Something is corrupt in the metadata that came from your most recent Android OS patch. Best solution but the most effort would be to do a factory reset and introduce apps slowly over days.
Hi guys I just wanted to mention that something similar happened to my S21. And in my case, it was related to the way I charged my phone. So, I had this very long zoom meeting and my phone was dying so I plugged my phone to a USB port extender plugged to my laptop. My phone was charging super slow probably for an hour or two. After that the random shutting down started nonstop. I restarted, clean the phone app cache, nothing worked. I found the solution: Just properly charge your phone! So I just turned my phone off and plugged to my Anker fast charger and let it plugged until it hit the 85% (I have that option on to extend the battery life) And this fixed the problem . Hope it helps! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...5c-20&linkId=2fb4916d90c22865e74ea6be35805c09
