I have a i9100 with
cm-13.0-20161105-NIGHTLY-i9100
and all the updated apps for facebook and youtube form the playstore. The problem is that, when clicking a video from youtube, but inside a facebook page, the video is launched with the html5 player, the sound is correct, I can see the position bar of the video, I can pause the video, but the video has plenty of artifacts. The same video inside facebook is fine infull screen. Inside the youtube app, when I choose open this link in youtube (from facebook), the video is fine in both small and full screen.
Is there a fix for this ?
good news, I installed the application ''android webview'' and now the artifacts have disappeared on facebook.
I still have the bug, within facebook, when I watch videos from news sites.
to recapitulate on CM14:
-example of videos failing http://edition.cnn.com/videos
-webview from the play store is installed
-the youtube app : all works
-the cm browser : videos from news sites do not work [only audio and scrambled video (showing the text of the page)]

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
-chromium : no video, no audio, just a black rectangle with ''BLOP'' on it
-chrome : all works, like firefox
-firefox : all works
-facebook : ''native'' videos work with webview, youtube videos works, videos from news sites do not work [only audio and scrambled video (showing the text of the page)]
-webview browser, from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snc.test.webview2&hl=en
youtube works, videos from news sites do not work [only audio and scrambled video (showing the text of the page)]
I tried the various settings here, and it is always the same bug,
Hi @blue whale

THere is no problem during the installation, but the bug is still here. I also wiped the cache, just in case.

Seems there is no way to get rid of this bug which exists in many cm versions.
Thanks and Regards!

A few days ago, I recorded the logcat when I tried to read videos within facebook. I am always over wifi and never on mobile data.
this when I go, within the newsfeed of facebook, to a radio and try to play the recording of an episode of some show, which fails, then I try to play the live radio, which fails too.
http://pastebin.com/2yZPuQdJ
this is a bit later, when within FB, I try to load a buggy video from a news site, I stopped at 52:11. THis was before I installed chrome dev.
http://pastebin.com/PntAqmV8
I do not know if the bug and the solution are apparent in these log..

Hoi,
dont really understand our question - why want you to set your device to lockmode but want to see video ?
Maybe there is an App, which plays only the video and lcks the screen - otherwise i see no chance without changing the ROM (if this is enough !)

Maybe you wanna just hear music ?
If so, try to use some specific software to do that, in order to donwload the mp3 from a youtube video and you will be able to read it even with the lock screen.

None of those applications exist on the play store, i want to listen to youtube songs with locked screen, is there any option beside downloading the song?
Edit:
I found Radioyoutube application, works good
Maybe you can try this "Touch Lock - Touch Blocker " application and you can found it on Google Play Store.
My son always love watching YouTube video , but always pausing the video , but I found a application and solve my problem now , so I suggest to you and I hope you will like it.

I'm using HBTube - a youtube video player. You can watch video background, download video or watch videos on the pop up screen. Search "hbtube online" or visit hbtube.online to see more detail. So good
I am using Youtube Vanced

That's the google's movie studio official app to create movie with recorded and non recorded movie , image , music and transition
It's extracted from ICS Iconia A500 ROM
Support input movies up to 1920*1080p and render movie at 848*480 pixel , 720p and 1080p(quite slow considering that's a smartphone)

Hmmm photoshop touch + this one is great!
this is not working properly on my phone it can't play the edited music in the preview play, i can't find an option to save the created movie either and when i exit and then go back, my project is gone
Seems to work for me. I just stuck a couple of videos and a picture in and then exported it but it worked great doing that.
with pics it works for me as well... but how the heck can you add multiple pics? :O i mean adding them one by one is just stupid?! :S

I've also saw that not all 1080p are compatible , also the 1080p videos of Xperia s( you can see if the rendering will work fine in the timeline, if there are "x" in the frame boxes the rendering will not be done)

I've been having that same problem. I didn't think much of it until now. But when I was in Google Play the other day, and I clicked on the videos for apps, I got the same error message. I thought it was just because of the ROM (epinter's CM10) I was using.
Bizarre, it doesn't work for me either on rooted stock UK orange 2.3.4 with Dolphin HD or stock browser...
I wonder what's going on? Has anyone got another device to see if it's a google problem?
I tried this on my friend's samsung galaxy mini unrooted and worked perfectly :S.

i just updated to the latest version of youtube (5.0.21) which resulted in me not having a seek bar when i watch movies in landscape mode.
I've tried googling the issue without luck.
I don't know if its because its not called a seek bar, or its because im the only one with this problem
heres a picture to show what i mean with seekbar

I also updated my YouTube app to the same version as you, but no issues here. The 'seek bar' is quite small and obscure, however it is there. I only tested while the video was playing, not paused.
Have you changed the DPI of the YouTube app? If you don't know what that is don't worry.

I also upgrade to this. And what a nice update it is I also have no problems and am using 182 dpi
Yes I'm not using stock dpi, I'm on 140 dpi & 720p.
Sorry for OT... Is 182 your global setting Andrew?

OP, have you managed to find the 'seek bar'? If not, try uninstalling, and re-installing the .apk. See how you go.

i haven't changed anything - im using stock rom (unrooted) aswel if that's any help
It's the same problem no matter if the video is pause or playing.
If i minimize the video and then drag to maximize the video again i can see the seek bar shortly but then it disappears again
Where do i change the dpi?

no luck - ive tried uninstalling the update restarting the phone and installing it again.
The phone wont let me remove youtube completely since its a system app, so it just reverts it back to stock youtube
I got the same problem. I did the reset, uninstall, delete cache, ect. Still the same

This App allows you to set the minimum and maximum vlc playback speed.
I developed it, to view videos made with my phones highspeed camera in slow motion!
Requirements: VLC
Download it here: Xposed Repository
Please report if you liked the module and how it could be improved!
It would be nice, if someone could test it with lollipop.

Why not? It modifies app, not system.

As pyler said it should work, because I just modified the vlc app.
Have fun watching your videos in Slow Motion
I appreciate your work very much. Could this be possible with Mx player (popular video Player of Android)?
I know MX player, but it isn't open source, and there is no speed setting included
Vlc has nearly the same features, inluding swiping for brightness etc. Because of that I switched from Mx to VLC .
suggestion
Hello , I do not run android 4.3, you can improve speed allowing the videos of other players , including youtube . I know you can encourage !!!!!!!!
would like ios has an app that is called fast forward cydia .
Greetings and happy new year.
MX player don't need to do Xposed module anymore since new alpha build already have this feature
here is some of their changelog
Supports playback speed control. Speed can be changed on [Menu > Play > Speed] or by swiping up/down with two fingers. This feature is not available with HW decoder before Android 6.

The beta of mx player (https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build) does have a speed option!
To use it start a video and follow these steps:
select the "SW decoder" mode
press menu and select "Play" -> "Speed"
This Xposed module is just an addition to vlc, to allow speed changes in vlc!
