Hi,
Have suddenly experienced problems with copy/paste function on my z5 compact.
Every time I long press for copy or paste, either in email app or Chrome, it ends up crashing the running app.
Anybody know what it could be?
The phone is stock and not rooted.

Hey everyone,
I have a problem with my Xperia P. Sometimes, it randomly starts to do things when the phone is unlocked, even if I am not touching the screen. It seems to register a touch, when there actually isn't any. Because of this, it randomly starts opening apps, scrolling and sometimes even moving widgets (it somehow registers a long touch followed by random scrolling).
I figured it was some sort of software error, so I used the PC companion program to repair my phone (wiping all settings but not the SD card) and for good measure, I reset the phone from the Android menu, also wiping the SD card. Then I reinstalled my apps etc and everything seemed fine, but after about two days the problem was back.
Is this a software bug that more people have, or is it a hardware defect? Also, I read using a third party charge could cause this. I use the official Sony charger of my old Ray, but it is rated to have the same voltage and less mAh, so that can't be it, right?
Technical details:
Android version: 4.1.2 (6.2.A.1.100)
Carrier: T-mobile NL
Which apps you installed, can you remember if it was after you installed a new app?

I can't say whether it was after installing a new app. I had the same problem earlier once, but I fixed it by repairing the phone using PC companion. Then there was an OTA (don't remember which, but must have been the last one in NL) and the problem came back. Or at least, that's how it seems, might still be hardware combined with weird timing.
Well none seems to be like one that can cause such a problem, but it's weird that a jardware problem will disapeare or surface with software updates.
I searched around on Google a bit and found a youtube video of someone with a similair problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMlfIq8fe0I
I also found this thread for the Xperia S, which seems to describe a similair issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895423
From what I read, most people either disabled some app which caused the problem or it was a hw issue.
I've searched around and haven't found anything like this so I'm posting to see if my fellow XDA GN3 users might be experiencing something similar.
Whenever I press on an email link either nothing happens or the it crashes the Android System.
It is most apparent in the Gmail app; I press on an email link expecting it to open a new reply window but instead it locks up for a second then it prompts me with a "Unfortunately, Android System has stopped." notification. If I long press on the email then I get the "options menu" Nova Launcher provided.
When I press a email link in the Chrome app it simply doesn't do anything, no crash, no gmail reply window... Just nothing.
I'm curious what is causing this instability. Is it Nova Launcher (suspect)? Is it Gmail? Is it something else?
Has anybody experienced this or anything similar? Any solutions?
I tried clearing the cache and data but that didn't work. I'm open to any suggestions.
Edit: Submitted report to Google, could be a Gmail issue.

This is correct.
Rooted, TWRP, DeOdexed Stock ROM
What other apps have you noticed crashing? Have you any clues on whats causing it?
I'm aware that we're in the testing phase of development, some things are going to be unstable.
So far the issues I've noticed aren't a big deal to me, it is just nice have everything fully functioning, operational.

I'm also running Freeza's rooted stock DeOdex ROM and have noticed that the native email app is VERY unstable. I set up my account manually so did not do a restore or anything else. I know about the issues with restoring apps from TiBu, but Viperboy has applied a bandaid fix with his TB Restore Fixer app, which I used when I restored my apps. Wondering if restoring apps is causing some kind of issue with the native email app?
Did either of you restore apps when you started noticing this? Again, this, for me, is ONLY an issue with the native email app; I've not experienced an issue with any other apps (that I know or or can tell).
My gmail crashes everytime I click on a Facebook link. Weird.

Nope, I only just minutes ago created my first Titanium Backup... My issue seems pretty isolated to Gmail (clicking any email address link) so far, I haven't noticed any other apps acting up. I'm just long pressing the link till I get the option to send mail, rather than short press and crash the system.
I have a Moto X Force on Android 6.0 (of course, rooted, bootloader unlocked, Xposed ...)
This is the first time I have this problem and also the first time that I have a smartphone that runs on marshmallow.
The apps will automatically close, I guess that's liberate RAM (mine is always full at least 85%) even while I use! (but that is very very rare).
Let me explain: I call on Skype, meanwhile I am on the internet on Firefox and suddenly Skype closes and no "Skype has stopped" or other not, the system simply kill the process.
When I write a event on Google Calendar, if I go to another app for too long Google Calendar closes automatically, and when I come back on it, I started to write is lost.
But that, at worst, I deal with it.
BUT HOWEVER, when I listen to music on youtube.com on firefox and I'm on another app and the system decide to close firefox, it drives me crazy!
Sometimes the system never closes Firefox, but as soon as the use of RAM is a little too intense, it closes all he can.
How to stop that Android arbitrarily close everything and anything? Are there some app can be defined as "non closable" like Firefox, Skype or another.
At worst, if there is no other way to fix the "auto kill issue", how to listen to music on youtube with the screen lock other than with firefox?
I'm not in the US so I can not use Youtube Music and when I use an app like Unpause Me, sound is chopped, there are plenty of cut, but what is very strange is that this problem ONLY happens only when the screen is locked or that I'm on another app that Unpause Me, when I'm in Uplause Me the sound is perfect ! (I also have this issue when I'm in skype call). (on my Galaxy S3 who running KitKat I don't have this issue at all)
Thank you for your help guys, I really need: /
Just got the mate 10 pro and Everytime I open a new instance of either Facebook or messenger app the app just closes I tried uninstalling both of them then reinstalling without any luck. Anyone else is facing this issue ?
Ido not know how to solve your issue, but I have a similar issue (I think), so I thought I could try and help pinning it down by describing it here as it is differently triggered: I cannot use google translate's "tap to translate" feature, i.e., automatically opening google translate right after copying some text to clipboard. It actually starts loading, then closes back to the app I was on. But after that, trying to open the google translate app itself, it works. So, it also sounds like "app does not open on first try" maybe? And the reason I posted this is because I do not manually try to open the app the first time, but it should be automatically opened bythe system. So maybe it does not matter how you try to open the apps first time, either manually or called by the system? Idk. Just trying to help pin the source of the problem down.

You think it could have something to do with the optimization of EMUI 8?
Hi, everyone!
I'm using a Huawei P30 and recently got a sprinkler controller as a present. Later I found articles and reviews that said this device is compatible with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, iOS, Android, etc. So I downloaded this Rachio app. For some reason, this app and some others stopped responding. I tried to restart my phone and reinstall these apps, but it doesn't help. Maybe someone had the same or similar problem and already found a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Nora it's possible to get this app running correctly if you had root...
([emoji88]Omni Rom[emoji88])
@NoraHensl
Main reason for an ANR ( read: Application Not Responding ) is device's low RAM and/or GHz.
FYI:
An ANR will occur if you are running a process on the UI thread which takes a long time, usually around 5 seconds. During this time the GUI (Graphical User Interface) will lock up which will result in anything the user presses will not be actioned. After the 5 seconds approx has occurred, if the thread still hasn't recovered then an ANR dialogue box is shown informing the user that the application is not responding and will give the user the choice to either wait, in the hope that the app will eventually recover, or to force close the app.
The easiest way to fix an app that keeps crashing on your Android smartphone is to simply force stop it and open it again. To do this, go to Settings -> Apps and select the app that keeps crashing. Tap on the app's name and then tap on 'Force stop'. Now try opening the app again and see if it works well.
