I found out, if i have bad Network, the Phone stays in it. For example, at work i have a Zone were only "H" is available and very slow. Phone shows 3G and i have 15KB/s DL Speed, wich is not really usable.
If i move to a Zone were it is better Network, it still stays in "H" and i still have only 15KB/s DL speed. But, if i set my Phone in flight mode and back, then i have "H+" (Phone shows still 3G - wich is normal) and DL Speed increases to over 4-5 MB/s and more...
I think there´s a problem with Network Selection, so Phone does not immedialy take the fastest Network, it stays in slow until the user makes a manually reconnect with flight mode of on or like you described with choice of Networks.
This is really disturbing, because at work i always have to set flight mode on and off and wait till connection and then its possible to surf in the internet etc..... before its so slow that you wouldn´t really enjoy surfing in the internet...
Anyone has a solution or a fix for this?
Its really annoying all times to switch flightmode to have usable internet...
No Idea anybody or a tweak?

I don't seem to have any major issues downloading and browsing when not connected to a wireless network, but I have noticed that I only ever seem to be able to connect through HSDPA, Edge (I think) or G. Whenver 3G is showing, the progress bar always hangs, before switching back to H and then continuing. So far I have never seen anything download via 3G.
I am confused. Why might this happen?
Hello,
In my area I find that I keep jumping from HSDPA to Edge and back constantly, which breaks my data connection briefly. It's very annoying.
I found that changing the setting to WCDMA only fixed this, and did not result in loss of data connection - it just kept me where I needed to be.
Only problem is at my house, suddenly I could not connect to my wireless internet no matter what I tried. I could connect to the neighbors slower open internet connection, but not my own. Tried everything. When I set it back to Auto mode, I could connect again with ease.
Any suggestions for a way to be WCDMA only and still connect to my wireless? I don't understand networking well enough to help myself.
My Amaze is having some serious Mobile data (4g/2g) connectivity issues. The problem is this:
1. When turning the screen on, the notification bar shows no mobile data connection, regardless of how many bars I have. Mobile data connection is always enabled under quick settings, but for some reason the phone still can't establish a connection for quite some time, or until toggling mobile data on/off a few times.
2. After finally getting a connection, the phone has further problems connecting. Even though 4g/3g/2g icon is present on notification bar and mobile data is enabled in quick settings, using browser will return only "page not found" errors, and apps will not function properly due to them not having a network connection (foursquare and spotify most especially). Looking at the 4g icon on the notification bar, I can see the "up" arrow flashing as if the phone is sending data, but the "down arrow" is dead as a doornail, not lighting up or receiving anything back. This happens regardless of how many bars I have.
3. On the rare occasion that the phone's mobile data connection does work, it's super slow and acts more like 2g than 4g. Simple web pages take anywhere from around 30 seconds to a minute to load, and spotify cannot stream a song without having to buffer constantly.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Or had experience with it? Just in case your wondering, I haven't gone over my 5gb data plan yet (see attached image).
Issue resolved.
Apparently this problem is a combination of 2 glitches:
1. When upgrading to a new phone, despite how much data you used in your plan during the billing cycle, on the T-Mobile My Account website, the widget which shows how much data you've used will only reflect the data you've used on the currently activated device. Before I upgraded to the Amaze, I had exceeded my 5gb limit on my Nexus One and was being throttled by T-mobile to lower speeds. My next billing cycle doesn't start until Dec 27th, so despite the fact that I've only used about 70mb on my new Amaze, the 6 gb I already used on my Nexus One still counts for this month's billing cycle even though the T-Mobile website doesn't reflect it.
2. When throttling, the Amaze, which by default is set to WCDMA/GSM auto, is supposed to automatically switch itself off of 4g and only allow 3g/2g connections. It doesn't. For some reason, it stays with the 4g connection even though the connection is, at best, intermittent. This is the cause of the "page not found" errors and app network errors I was having.
So, for anyone else who is wondering how to remedy this, the fix is simple. Go into Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode, then tap "GSM only". This will cut off the problematic 4g connection while still allowing for 3g/2g connections. While noticeably slower (especially where I live, since the Florida panhandle only has 2g and 4g, no 3g), the mobile data connection is solid. Have yet to have any connection errors or experience any intermittency. Still, can't wait until the 27th when I can test out the full power of the 4g connection.
Just got my S3 and been trying to download my 275+ apps through play store but I am getting very slow speeds.
I have tried to download over both work and home wireless router but the speeds are really slow even when trying to web browse.
It is really slow to an extent where the webpage at times fails to load.
Any suggestionss?
dial *#0011# and press menu, select wifI and turn power saving mode off.
Does help for me tho. I saw virtually no speed change :/

This has been bugging me as well.
After triple checking everything on the phone I went to my router. The 2.4ghz channel was set to "mixed mode". Setting it ti "G only" it now seems to only drop to 32mbps where it was going and staying at 5mbps before.
Power save mode had no noticeable effect while in mixed mode.
Whenever my device RedmiNote3 is idle for 2-3hrs (mostly in evening when am riding back to home from office) am unable to browse 3G as phone doenst connect to 3G. the only option is to reboot. Other devices are connecting to 3G at same place, even my phone conencts to 3G after reboot. So there some serious problem with it.
I have read other threads about it too, but worry that killing 'apk qualcomm supersaver' may disrrupt other functions and if something goes really bad with this workaround, i would land my self in trouble unecessarily.
any idea what wrong?.
current MiUi version is 7.2.5.0 (stable)
I maintain my data connection by staying permanently connected to my VPN. Disabling Qualcomm supersaver doesn't really help me so I don't disable it anymore. I don't know if this helps.
