According to several websites a number of chinese smartphones is infected by pre-installed spyware (just google "adups").
The suspicous apps are named 'com.adups.fota' and 'com.adups.fota.sysoper', critical version numbers are in the range 5.0.3 to 5.3.x.
With the help of "adb shell dumpsys package packages" I analysed my system and found the two critical apps:
com.adups.fota.sysoper: version 5.0.4, last update 2016-06-19 05:25:35
com.adups.fota: version 5.7.0.3.004, 2016-11-16 15:01:06 (updated just a couple of days ago!)
I'm running the latest Android 6.0 stock rom.
I also tried to start a new thread on the zopomobile forum 4 days ago asking Zopo for a confirmation that the phone is not affected by the problem. This thread is still waiting in the "Moderating" section and has not been published up to now - this makes me start to worry ....
Is there a way for a few experienced developers, to clean up this pre-installed spyware, and provide a clean roms !?
The fact that those app are present on stock rom doesn't mean that the system is infected.
Recently, Xiaomi has been accused due to malware installed on miui ROMs and, at the end, the malware was installed by resellers.
So, to make sure, you need info about this supposed malware and analize those app.
I am quite sure that zopo stock rom are clean.

Dear Experts,
I am basic user who has been using nexus sofar and have purchased Redmi 2 Prime for first time from Amazon 3 days back.
I have in past unlocked boot loader; RootedNexus using TWRP recovery and created nandroid backup.
However I have been trying to read MIUIforums from last many days and am thoroughly confused now.
Request for kind guidance in as much detailas possible and elaboration. Thanks for your patience in advance.
1. Why in so many threads for rooting itnever talks about unlocking Boot loader first and straightaway jumps to rootingfor Redmi 2 prime?
If Iunderstand correctly from my past experience with nexus; mandatory first stepis to unlock boot loader which resets device to factory and then go ahead withTWRP installation.
Am I Missing something?
2. How many types of standard ROMS arethere – it seems there is Global; stock; India; etc etc. Isn’t this so soconfusing which one I am supposed to use.
3. H2014811, 813 etc. – What are these andhow DO I find in my phone? I have attached screenshots of about phone but couldnot find anything on similar lines. Pls guide.
4. My current phone spec shows –
Model number HM 2LTE-IN
Android version 4.4.4 KTU84P
MIUI version MIUI 6.7.1.0(KHJMICH) | Stable
Build number KTU84P
Now How can I upgrade from KITKAT to Lollipop5.1.1? At least the latest android should be there on new phones?
Also fully confused about MIUI 7 so muchhype around it.
I myself dont know why but I trusted them so I followed what they have wrote in MIUI forum.
And to know what is your model number. Shutdown your phone > Remove battery and try to look at the sticker and read it if you found this for example HM20140817, it means that is your model number. it starts with HM.
Edit: I don't think so Xiaomi will release a lollipop update for Redmi 2 Prime. MIUI 7 is already available but it is not yet stable, some minor bugs still exist and it is not yet release for public. It is still in developer version.
There is no need to unlock bootloader in Xiaomi phones. You just have to flash the zip file and voila your phone will be rooted and bootloader comes pre unlocked.
Hi guys,
Long time Android user here - I've recently sold my Blackberry Priv and have picked up a Redmi 3. I'm struggling to wrap my head around the ROM terminology for this device.
- I am based in the UK, I can see in my device settings that I am on a 'Global' ROM
- I can see that there is a 7.3 version of miui available for this device, but cant find a reliable download source (currently running 7.2.7.0.0 - LHPCNDB)
- Will Miui 8 be released for this device (Global?)
- If I choose to flash the device with a Chinese version, what will the differences in the software be?
- The BL unlocking processes confuses me - do I literally need to send a request to Xiaomi for this to be done or can I do it via a tool?
I think this is all for now - I'd appreciate some help clearing up the above questions.

There is no official global rom for this device at the moment. Your rom seems to be a cooked room by the seller.
Official rom comes with English and Chinese only (and a lot of Chinese useless apps)
My suggest is to flash official developer rom (you need the developer rom to unlock bootloader), unlock bootloader (yes you need to apply for it to Xiaomi). Once unlocked, install twrp and a stable unofficial eu rom (this one has no OTA but is clean off Chinese apps).
If you have the no-pro version, you can also try the CM12 from this forum. It seems to be a very good rom.

You should apply to unlock your bootloader first; just make a Mi Account and go through the process. You might have to wait a few days (I waited 6). Some good tutorials are available on the MIUI forums or here on XDA.
After you've unlocked the bootlader, the next step is to flash a custom recovery such as TWRP (also on XDA), then a custom ROM of your choice. I reccommend installing xiaomi.eu if you live in Europe for the good localizations. Otherwise you can install the Chinese Stable / Dev ROM at your choosing; it has English language but some of the Chinese apps might annoy you. MIUI8 has been released for the Chinese developer ROM, and therefore the xiaomi.eu custom ROM which uses it as base. A CM 12.1 build is also available on XDA if you're into that, although it has some bugs regarding the camera, fingerprint sensor, and GPS.
Hi, all!
This is my very first post. Not even sure if there's a solution to this, tried searching but probably my keywords didn't exactly hit it.
I have a Huawei P9 Lite. I just received the OTA update for Nougat Beta with build number VNS-L31C636B331. My previous build was VNS-L31C636B170. I received the OTA update after I registered to become a beta tester. The installation was successful, things went running smoothly until I noticed my VPN app was closing when my phone is locked (even when I had it set to run after screen-lock). It got so annoying until I decided to reformat my phone. Things are running fine again, but some system or stock Huawei apps are missing, like calendar, clock, and calculator, to name a few.
Is there a way to download and reinstall these apps? And if so, are the downloadable apps already designed for Nougat on Huawei? Or are they from Marshmallow?
If there is no way to download stock apps, can I ask help to downgrade to Marshmallow? I'm planning to downgrade, and then tick back the Nougat update again from settings.
Thank you so much, guys!

I own a Xperia Z5C when there is a stock app missing on modded stock-roms i can download them by playstore.
Flyme 7 Coming to Older Phones Like Meizu PRO 5.. to see click here :fingers-crossed:
It's good news, currently only 4.7% of mobile phones have Oreo.
The trouble is until Flyme gets stable
And if there are new drivers maybe someone (@faust93) is able to port it to Resurrection Remix 6, which is still in beta on most phones
You just have to wait and all the pieces are put together
They just released the Meizu 15 with Android 7.1.2. and Flyme OS 7, does not even come with Oreo.
I'm very disappointed!
Meizu is one year behind in the design and software of its mobile phones. They pass the fashions without offering anything.
I expected them to catch up, but nothing. He's going to win a bad name forever.
They will end up putting the sign closed for vacations, which we already know what it means.
Above, they do not pay Google for having Google Play well. The International Version is a fake, they aren't Certified
And they also have blocked the bootloader so you can not install any ROM (there are none in the Meizu Pro 6, Pro 7).
My next mobile will not be a Meizu is clear. In 2015, they competed with Xiaomi, I thought that they would get over them but they have chosen very bad strategies, such as making several versions (China, the International), moving away from Google, problems with apps, very similar designs for all their phones, prices that are too high compared to the competition , many software failures in Flyme, without Android updates ...
Luckily I have it with RR and Android 7.1.2 (in 3G and without finger print but this does not matter at all). And I'm happy with him !!
You do not need another Android if you have it well customized (Substratum, Exposed, Magisk Manager ..).
But it would be cool to have RR with Oreo..
Flyme 7 is out since 22.04.18 and IS NOT BASED on Oreo
It's again based on Nougat 7.0
I've tried 7.8.4.22 A, not soo bad, some little bugs with camera and other things but overall 's good
in 2022 i bet they are going to have oreo
or meizu will die
Meizu has disappointed me so much that I bought another mobile (not from Meizu). I have endured so much thanks to the Faust93 ROM but I could not do it anymore, it was a little on a whim, more than other things
Meizu was downgrading ever since 2015 and their strategy to focus on the Chinese market with dozens of new devices every year led to abandoning all their previous flagships and lack of focus on software updates. Obviously providing regular up-to-date upgrades does not bring in too much revenue compared to the new devices ranging from budget to flagships that bring in millions. This fact showed their real face - hunt for money rather than for creating an outstanding product and attracting even more customers. Pro 5 is my first Meizu phone and is definitely the last one. Even with running RR 7.1.2 and fully and smoothly functioning hardware, I do really lack fingerprint option and I don't like having any sacrifices on the device. which once used to be a flagship and still has pretty powerful insides to date. I like trying different roms and flashing firmware, but for the testing purposes, not because I am forced to in order to have more or less up-to-date Android version and properly working Google Services and Play Store. This is just ridiculous and disgusting.
Did someone tried flyme 7, this version 7.8.5.8?
hi everybody.
I'm surfing the internet.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/flyme-os-7-meizu-pro-5/
I came across this site.
I downloaded and installed the Meizu pro5 Flyme 7.0.2.0A from the https://www.flyme.cn/firmwarelist-23.html#3 link provided on the site. I got backup of my phone. I've installed wipe cache. And it works.
I wanted to share it with you.
Notes:
- I had a flyme 6.3 rom.
- I installed vipe cache from the first installation. sim network did not work. vipe cache cleaning and installed all functions worked.
-Flyme has added facial recognition and works very nicely.
- Press the power button. I installed the version uplink type. As described in the first link. (https://www.getdroidtips.com/flyme-os-7-meizu-pro-5/)
-I've been using it for two days. very nice. Flyme7 is the original system board and stable.
- Before loading, change the ro.product.locale = zh-CN line in the zip file (update.zip/system/build.prop) to -> ro.product.locale = en-US.
- Bad news - I use English. Problems can occur in other languages.
The pro5 really got android 8.0!?
Maybe I should (after switching to the global version a year ago) back to the chinese roms...
Are the google apps all working? Incl. contacts etc?
Thanks already for the update!
pro 5 now is with oreo??
i´m speechless lol
Unfortunately nope, Oreo was only a dream for us

Hi all,
Since it seems there are not updates coming for the global version of pro5 anymore I am considering to switch to the Chinese ROM.
Is it possible to install the latest Chinese version to a GLOBAL Pro5?
If it is a more complex process, do you have instructions a link that shows how to do it?
Thanks a lot!

i think you have to change the product label to chinese ( i tried without doing so and i failed miserably )
it's depend on what recovery you use to update, stock or TWRP. If with TWRP, you need to replace bootloader and recovery in zip to be unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.
So I possess a Redmi Note 10 Indian variant with 4 GB ram. For the past month, I have been using Pixel Experience Plus and it was smooth until the last week's update. Then it came to my notice that I haven't installed the latest MIUI 13 "Firmware" as the developer said. So I got and flashed the Global ROM V13.0.5.0.SKGMIXM (even though my device was shipped with Indian ROM) via Xiaomi Flash because Indian ROM V12.5.6.0.RKGINXM is still in MIUI 12.
Oops! That was probably the worst mistake I had made coz my phone had restarted at least a dozen times unexpectedly even while the phone is locked and unlocked (referring to screen lock) Now it's barely usable.
So here are my questions:
Is this a bug with MIUI or did I mess something up big time?
I use the terms firmware and ROM interchangeably but are they different?
How to install firmware via fastboot?
I know that was a lot of questions but please help me if possible because this is my main device
Thanks a lot

First off, don't try to make an update while the device has a kind of lock, either the screen or user encryption (not referring to in-built encryption).
Generically, firmware makes a reference to a specific build, this applies for any ROM, for any device out there.
The set of specific partitions, that are called firmware in the Xiaomi world, are also in any fastboot ROM.
But like the different firmware versions are usually available for almost (if not all) Xiaomi devices, in great part, thanks to @yshalsager, you can just pick up the one you need and flash it before or after (over) any (that supports it or needs it) custom ROM.
Just refer to here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/firmware-redmi-note-10-mojito-auto-updated.4254017/page-3 as you can see, what you need, was there.
Well what i can tell you with experience might enlighten the situation. I changed my rom from global to Indonesian on MIUI 12. It was working very well no lags no issue infact i was loving it . Then came MIUI 13 V13.0.2.0.SKGIDXM.
my phone became like a sluggish snail. A lot of lags, different apps not working really hateful. There was no escape. so after bearing it was 2 months i down graded back to MIUI 12. Now i think i will stay there until some one let me know MIUI 13 is bug free
