Hi, I have a RN3PSE (Kate), and I want to change from Global stable to global Dev . Do I need to unlock the bootloader? Also, is there a list of the languages available in dev rom?
Download the zip of dev rom ...Place in root of storage( not in any folder) ......change the file name to update.zip
Open Updater
select update file option from 3 dot menu and select the update.zip.
detailed instructions here___>> http://en.miui.com/a-233.html
sorry, im kind of a noob. It says Due to the differences in Recovery interface, this method is not applicable to some Redmi MTK devices and devices with locked bootloader., and my bootloader is locked, can I continue with this procedure? Won't my phone brick?

Hello there.....just had a few queries. First of all, I tried to unlock the bootloader, but it always get stuck at 50% and says the account on device is different from the account you are logged in with. I have both the adb and fastboot drivers installed, and its getting detected through adb devices and fastboot devices command. The next thing I learned from some other post of that you have to upgrade to the latest developer rom. So I downloaded it, but in updater app, its showing, "can't verify the package". I think, one can directly flash the developer rom over the stable global rom. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT : I successfully flashed the latest global developer rom through EDL mode, using MiFlash. And, then the bootloader got unlocked in seconds.
I would like to know if you are on the Latest MIUI Global Stable release for Kenzo, or not i.e. the MIUI version will be V8.0.1.0 LHOMIDG. If yes, follow the following process to upgrade your device to the latest MIUI Global Developer version.
Caution:- This method will wipe your apps and factory reset the phone. Your internal storage shall remain unaffected. Take a backup from the settings menu first and then proceed at your own risk.
1. Download the last LP based MIUI 8 v6.8.18 from here - http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.8.18/miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_6.8.18_d0da79d09e_5.1.zip
2. Move the zip file to the root of your internal storage.
3. Open the Updater App. Click on the 3dot menu on the top right and select "Select Update package". Browse to the v6.8.18 ROM zip file and select it. The App will tell you that updating to this version will erase your data. Proceed to Erase and reboot.
4. Wait while MIUI updates.
5. Now download the latest MIUI 8 v6.9.9 based on MM from here - http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.9.9/miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_6.9.9_f26648d8b5_6.0.zip
6. Repeat everything as it is but replace the zip file to the newer one.
7. When the Phone reboots after updating. just restore your backup from the Global Stable and you shall be good to go.
hey freinds.......i have jst got my new kenzo (sd).........i have applied for unlocking permisions and got approval also......................but whenever i try to unlock my phone using unlock tool it shows id mismatch and gets stuck at 50%..............................:crying:
im on stock miui 7.5 global stable rom (lollipop)...............du i need to flash any file/ dev rom/ chinese rom before unlocking...............................
this method worked for me when i was on V8.0.6.0.LHOMIDG MIUI8.
1- you need to switch from global stable to global developer rom, download the latest global developer rom on android lollipop(5.1).
unfortunately xda won't let me include links,so google this : miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_6.8.18_d0da79d09e_5.1.zip
2- after downloading the rom, rename the file name to Update.zip then copy to internal storage(in downloaded_rom folder).
3- open updater app, select choose update package, go to downloaded_rom folder and select Update.zip. It will verify your rom and install it.
4- download the latest global developer rom from en miui , repeat the steps 2 and 3.
5- sign in to your mi account on your device(enable find device),also on i.mi.com(to check your device). enable developer options,OEM unlocking and USB debugging.
6- download the latest version of MIFlashUnlock tool and log into your account
7- turn off your device and go to fastboot (press and hold volume - and power button at the same time), connect your device to your PC, click unlock(on MIFlashUnlock tool), after your bootloader successfully unlocked, click on reboot.
It is simple

I don't think so, If you're already on dev - you need to perform the steps 5 to 7. If it didn't work, try to log into your account with your phone number(for account on your phone,i.mi.com and MIFlashUnlock tool) - also check your mi account info, the country you choose should be the same as you phone number, don't choose another country!

I understood that from your first reply,no,you don't need to downgrade. It's recommended to do this unlocking process on the latest rom. just follow my last comment, specially logging from your phone number not your email into your account...also perform factory reset just to be 100% sure.
for comprehensive information about the unlocking process, check the forum on en miui and look for the following threads :

This error(on updater app) happens if you're trying to switch from global stable(lollipop) to global developer(marshmallow),follow the instructions. Download the latest global developer on LOLLIPOP and try. After you successfully switched to global developer then download the latest global developer(marshmallow).

Hey there.
1) I think you should try to check and see if you do have an official version of MIUI, not a vendor version. You can check this by seeing if you have ads or things like that popping up in your phone. The reason I say this is because MIUI actually gets updated pretty regularly. If you just don't like MIUI because of update issues, I think you might want to try flashing a known global stable version of MIUI(which is the official MIUI that is supposed to ship on MI devices) before doing anything else.
As for how to flash your device, the steps are below.
1) Unlock your bootloader using the official method from Xiaomi.
you can apply for unlock permissions here http://en.miui.com/unlock/
after applying, you will have to download the MiUnlock program and install it on your computer.
Plug in your phone to your computer to allow the drivers to install.(It's an automatic process)
Check the email account associated with the Mi account you used to apply for unlock permissions every few days. You should receive permission to unlock within the week.
After you have received permission,
Boot your phone into fastboot mode(vol down and power buttons held down at the same time from power off state)
plug your phone into your computer(please note to use the original cable and a stable usb port)
open the MiUnlock program
Click unlock.
You will have successfully unlocked your bootloader at this point.
2)Check your device version by going to settings> about phone.
If it says hexa core processor, refer to the snapdragon forums
If it says octa core processors, refer to the mediatek(mtk) forums
3)Flash an official Xiaomi ROM for the appropriate version of your device.
you can follow this extremely detailed tutorial here(please note that everything from this point forth will be a tutorial for the snapdragon version and should not be used on the mediatek version)
http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html
4) If you are still unsatisfied with the Official MIUI, you can then proceed to flash a custom ROM of your choice.
Flash TWRP.
After that, flash Alka recovery.
You can compare the different versions of TWRP available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-redmi-note-3-available-twrps-t3406708
For this part, you can follow the tutorial made by rootjunky.com on youtube.
After that, backup all partitions of your device onto your sd card.
Flash the appropriate firmware for your Custom ROM
Flash your chosen ROM
Flash Gapps.
Done.
A good ROM to start out with would be CM13 by TheStrix.
A good kernel would be Radon Kernel.
Personally, I wouldn't use CM14 yet as it is not completely stable.

Yes we can and I've already done it.
I can't change from CN ROM to Global ROM, the version posted here by jpmacapuna doesn't work, package unauthorized.

Thank you
I want to change the region of my phone using the following instruction https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...dated-instructions-now-working-again.4143415/
However it works only on RUI1.0. I am currently on official vanila not rooted RUI3.0 rom (EU, F.19), so I need to downrgrade. I belive that I need to downgrade in two steps: firstly from RUI3.0 to RUI2.0, then from RUI2.0 to RUI1.0.
An now I m stuck on the first step. None of the methods that I've found on the web work. Native realme explorer does not offer me the update when I click on .zip or .ozip package, but just extract. If I go to Settings > About Phone and tap on the realme UI 3.0 Software Version situated at the top, then tap on the overflow icon situated at the top right and select Local Install, the downgrade rom passed verification and then fails to install in the recovery after about 30 seconds. In the recovery itself I am missing Install from storage option.
I do not know what else I can do. Please help me!
