You will lose warranty and knox features that is all. So you will lose samsung pay. There are many more reasons to root other than to flash a custom ROM. Also there are still a few s6 devs still developing now.

You lose OTA but keep finger scanner. But you can still very easily update firmware with odin and get the new firmwares before OTA. I have managed to root on every security update so far. Never had an issue rooting my s6 edge

I don't know, I'm in UK and I have never had to send my phone for repair through warranty as it only covers certain things. My phone is insured so if it needs to be sent it is just flash stock firmware to get rid of root and they never check. It only matters if you send it to Samsung. Anyway lol I still think it's worth it to root

Hey sir! I hope u remember me from the other thread
Anyways i managed to root my smg925w8 with twisted kernel and twrp but after booting,i happened to have 2 new apps called knox settings one in grey and one in blue and gold
Plus two icons of messages and phone dialer, when i try to access the knox settings it says "container agent2 has stopped"
Any ideas ? Any way to delete that or to reroot my phone so that it will be normal? Is it possible that something wasn't compatible with the phone ? Twrp kernel spersu ?

Private mode not working is due to the kernel. Some kernels have bugs or some stuff not working. You can use titanium backup to remove the knox app. That will stop the error message

First off thank you very much for that. Much appreciated.
second. Do you plan to make a new rom from this base, or update x2? Not trying to pester or push you into anything, im honestly just curious. Thanks.
Let's hope it's not like the last few weeks of the Captivate side, where there was a new ATT leak every few days and was driving the devs nuts!!

Flashing now but I will lose root.
I'm gonna go ahead and throw this out there... I probably won't be basing a ROM on this. In my experience, basing ROMs on leaks just leads to frustration. Frustration for developers when a new leak drops a couple days later and makes their work obsolete and frustration for users who run in to various little bugs that haven't been ironed out by Samsung yet.

Neither of our CWM-enabled kernels will boot it?
This also has the same anti-jig-counter-reset with the bootloaders as the I9100 2.3.5 roms. I flashed this and went back to the 2.3.4 and now I can't reset my binary counter with my jig.

If I am not mistaken, for the i9100 you have to flash the old bootloaders to get the jig working again, correct? If that is the case, it's going to be a big hassle...

Just received my note 3 from sprint with mj4, i then updated to NAB and on to NC5, but what i noticed is I dont have a hot spot option toggle in settings- connections, is this something new ?
Sprint has disabled it until you pay for the service. The flashable hot spot mod is deff the way to go. I don't even get LAN errors through Xbox live with 4G. Someone more helpful will chime in with a link soon.

what i did was after updating to nc5D. i odined recovery...then flashed latest super user zip via recovery. upon booting it will say supersu detected knox do you wish to disable. hit yes it should reboot and upon rebooting your good to go. im running lean kernel with my setupof stock rooted nc5D. everything works. froze what i didnt want in titanium backup.

There's a way to root every version of software they're released. Since the bootloader is unlocked, all that's needed is to flash a custom recovery, then when TWRP asks you if you want to root, just click yes, and you're done. It'll always be like this unless they lock the bootloader.

Why? Tmobile does even care.
No I know that, but Samsung AllShare Cast Dongle does care.. the dongle won't work on a rooted device. I had a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 that I rooted but I used triangle away to reset counter and it then would work. I use my tablet and dongle most nights and my other allshare in my car for my appradio. The S5 and Tab S will be first devices I didn't root
Any news on Knox?
Its been awhile since i rooted my phones and flashed roms. I juat rooted my s5. But i dont believe i installed a custom recovery. In the past i always downloaded rom manager and installed cwm through the app. But it says device not compatible. Or ud download goo manager and install twrp through that app and i dont see the version for my tmobile s5 listed. Can someone help me with flashing a custom recovery. And recommend any stable custom roms i should try out. Also if there is anything i need to be careful of when flashing i dont care about tripping my knox counter. My device isnt warrantied anyway.

Odin the recovery? no... if you're on the latest ROM already, all you do is Odin the NE6 kernel given in the post, run towelroot, verify root, Odin NK2 kernel back and bam! rooted the latest NK2 ROM with KNOX intact.

I understand how the method works. It's like they can't root the latest kernel or something so revert back for root and come back. My point is if your final goal isn't just a rooted stock phone, there is almost no point in this ? Because since the phone doesn't have a looked bootloader you can just odin a recovery and flash a rom without rooting first

I understand how the method works. It's like they can't root the latest kernel or something so revert back for root and come back. My point is if your final goal isn't just a rooted stock phone, there is almost no point in this ? Because since the phone doesn't have a looked bootloader you can just odin a recovery and flash a rom without rooting first

well yeah, no point in this if you're looking for more than a rooted stock phone...

It is funny how T-Mobile has managed to get their GS5 up to 5.1.1 while most of GS6 owners in the US and the world still on 5.0

The good news: You are able to downgrade from 5.1.1 to 5.0 or even 4.4 just by flashing previous firmwares using ODIN.
Without any problem. Full service, imei, SV, .... everything's fine.

Is the FOF6 bootloader still unlocked and can the rom be rooted with twrp and flashing SuperSU 2.49? Has anyone noticed improved performance and less ram being used?
Any New Changes?
Can someone please tell me Any New Features such as Themes are included in this 5.1.1 update?
Come on people post those long over due screenshots!
I just did the update and it killed my sim card reader. Booted up the phone after fresh wipe and install, my phone said that I needed to install a sim card. Talked to T-Mobile technical support and was told to go to the store to get a new sim card since they thought the update fried the sim card. Still no luck, phone won't read new sim card. Other than that, the phone sims a lot more fluid and some animations seem a little different.

I reinstalled it via Odin. This time I get signal and data, however, I keep getting a thing saying that there's an error for wifi calling. I don't really use wifi calling, so I don't care too much about that. As far as screen shots, nothing that I have found so far looks any different.

Nope. Even tried a couple tricks and wouldn't boot. Seems like su being added to system partition causes it not to boot since I flashed twrp, rooted, then flashed stock recovery
