Just have a question regarding the new firmware update that came out for the gear fit 2 this week (R360XXU1BPK5). After the update my Alarm won't wake me up anymore, it will vibrate for 1 second then shut off until I turn the screen on, then it will continue to vibrate. Almost slept in this morning for school. Also tested with the timer and same thing, it will vibrate for one second and only continue to vibrate when you turn your wrist to turn the screen on. Am I the only one experiencing this or is it a bug with the firmware update?
Thanks

I checked and I can verify the alarm functions as you said, vibrates once and won't continue until the screen is turned on. However, the timer functions as expected (turns on the screen and vibrates until I dismiss it).

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the display while in a call? On my HTC Touch Pro I was able to just press the power button to achieve this - but on the Hero the power button is also the hang up button.
Any ideas?
Actually it's supposed to turn off automatically.
IMO the problem isn't turning the screen off during a call, it's turning it back on when needed.

I agree completely... Is an annoying issue that display go away on call because if you need something, ie keyboard or see call duration you need to do something for have it back.
Why not try this app, which you shake to wake the screen - not tired it myself but worth a go
Shake Awake
If the screen goes blank during a call you can simply press the menu button to wake up the screen again. Just tested that and it works fine.
Still, it would be nice to be able to turn it off when I want and not have to wait for it to time out to switch the display off.
You can also press the answer button to wake screen while in a call.
As to shake-it-to-wake-it, with the non-stick coating on the device I would probably be likely to launch it out of my hand !!! haha
Sprint Hero
I just picked up a Spring HTC Hero this weekend and am finding the same problem. When I place the phone up to my ear the screen does not shut off. However since the end button is also the same button used to turn off the screen, I'm in a catch 22.
For now I have to wait for the screen to time out. Turning the screen back on is not an issue as many have mentioned.
When a daily alarm sounds, a notification appears onscreen only briefly, and the backlight doesn't turn on. If you press the ON button the notification vanishes, leaving you with no way to cancel the alarm. A few minutes later the alarm rings again, same scenario, can't shut it off.
Didn't have this issue with my WM5 phone on which the notification stayed onscreen, and clicking the notification would shut off the alarm.
Firstly, is this normal behavior of a model with HTC Sense, or is there something up with this one?
Heyy all,if this already being asked before then I couldn't find it so please point me in the right direction.
A few days ago my phone stopped vibrating when I received SMS. I thought I might of knocked it off in the setting or something but after checking to find that it was still turned on I got confused. I've done nothing to the phone which could kill the phone vibrating when I receive a SMS. The phone vibrates when my alarm goes off and every other thing but not when I receive a SMS. I've checked in the service menu as well to see if vibrate worked there and it does. So does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem as I rely on my phone vibrating to answer my texts.
Cheers
Hi, I don't know if there's an "official" way to do it, but I use AudioGuru to set all volume and vibration settings. Next to the ringtone slider is a symbol of a vibrating phone, and it can be activated or deactivated. Same story with the slider below, which refers to sms: you can check if it's activated or not.
It is activated though. I use Light flow which changes the LED light when I get a notification but it also sets what the notification does like vibrate and such. My ohone vibrates in ever other situation expect when I receive a text.

Is there any method to fully disable the vibrate function in ICS? Although it says it's disabled in the settings, it keeps vibrating when i turn of the volume and receive an email for example. I just want it off, at all times.
thx
Wondering this too. Need to turn this off completely. I am getting a loud noise on the top left of tablet when the vibrate goes off.

Go to settings, sound, and uncheck vibrate and ring, and vibrate on touch then retart the tablet. It should not vibrate any more.

That helps for sure, but doesn't disable completely.
For example if you turn the volume on the side of the tablet all the way down it goes off and it will vibrate playing some games.
I'd like to know this too... how to completely disable vibrate at all times (muting, power on/off, in apps, etc).
My vibrate motor started going bad over the last couple days, and now produces an annoying rattle sound.
I don't need the vibrate anyways, so would love to disable it.
Hi,
Recently my phone stock alarm clock started behaving strangely,
Sometimes the sound does not go off when having the phone on silent or vibrate at night when sleeping.
Quick fix is restarting the phone and then it works for a while and stops working again. Another fix is to switch between silent/vibrate to normal few times to have the sound go off.
Now experienced that several times, afraid that I will miss an important appointment one day or go to work late
Anybody knows this issue?
