Call Redirection Menu - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Hi,
I frequently use call redirection. To redirect calls I normally use Tasker. When call redirection is active the corresponding icon appears in the status bar. Wen I then open notifications and tap on the call redirection I'm transferred to the "call settings" menu, as expected. Here is my question:
How can I navigate to the "call settings" using the menu? I'm unable to find a way to get there without active call redirection.
TIA

Double SMS notifications...aarrrrghhh!!!!

Hello guys!
I installed Handcent sms and even I stopped default sms notification and forced stop to the default client itself, I still receive two sms notifications on status bar. Had to disable the one notification supported by Handcent and now is only the default one on which when I click- the Handcent client appears. Once I quit from Handcent, the icon is still on status bar, altough I've read the sms and have to close it via "close notifications" button...very annoying..
How to get rid the default sms notification?
Open "Messages"
Click MENU
Select SETUP
Uncheck "Notifications" - scroll down
Enable HANDCENT notification
You should now get only 1 notification

Click to collapse
That was exactly what I did and still get two notifications..
Go to settings >apps >manage apps> messages > force stop!
Go into the default Messages app and make sure to disable Auto-retrieve (this will also help improve battery life)

Remove "Call Log" icon from drawer

I managed to kill most of the crapware icons like Add to Home, Layar, etc. but I am unsure how to get rid of the Call Log icon. Is this possible? I always access Call Log from Dialer > Call Log tab or the missed calls puzzle piece/notification shortcut.
Bump, in case anyone knows

[Q] Direct Messaging and Voice Control

Here is my question: I would like to set up a text message shortcut on my home screen using the "direct message" shortcut for a specific contact, BUT I would like the shortcut to open directly into voice control so I can just begin talking (as opposed to opening into the text thread, then having to tap the box to bring up the keyboard, then having to tap the voice control icon).
Also, I know about the voice control app (say "text Rob" then start speaking your message). I want to cut out the "To" part of the equation because Google Voice very often gets that part wrong and I end up having to manually change the recipient info.
Thanks guys!
Anyone?

[Q] Seperate notification tones for email and text messages...

....Can this be done because at the moment I'm getting the same notification for incoming emails and for text messages and it's really starting to do my head in constantly checking my phone to see if someone has text me, only to find a pointless email instead.
Please help as it's driving me mad.
Both your email and text messages are using the default notification tone.
If you want to change one, go into the app, press settings and navigate to notification settings. Both text message and email notifications can be configured.
Also for future - jump into the settings (within the app) to find out if you can change the notification sounds; i'm pretty sure most apps will allow you to configure it.
I too had the same issue and sorted it out few min back. Open messaging/mail/gmail. hit options and settings. Under Notifications, select the ringtone of your choice. Done!!

Blocking email address sent as text message - possible ?

Is this even possible -- can't see any block function in "Messages"
How To Block Spam Text Messages on Android From an Email Address
If you use Google’s messaging app, you have more luck than some other Android users because Google developed a spam filter that should automatically eliminate spam texts. Here’s how to enable it:
Open the Messages app
Hit the three dots in the upper right corner
Select Settings from the drop-down menu
Choose the SIM card if applicable
Select Spam protection
Tap on the slider next to Enable spam protection so it becomes blue
You can repeat the same process for another SIM card if you have two.
OK. confirmed. It works just as above
I've had that turned on, but still got the email texts...good thing I can still report those as spam and block tho.

so i don't have this option .."choose the SIM.." or anything that says "Sam protection.."
under message settings
conversation categories
notifications
block numbers and messages
more settings
emergency alert history
about messages.
tried every area, nothing gives the option for spam protection.
I'm on a stock samsung build on VZ provider.
Any ideas ...anyone??
