Hey there. Weird problem but my device has no deep sleep at all over 2 hours in screen off. Have had this problem for awhile and wanted to see if anyone could help. I have BBS and wake lock detector if it will help. See alot of event wake locks there but no clue what they mean.
Also I am currently on epic kenzo 6.11.10 but stock MIUI 8 has the same problem as well as cm13/Santosh and cm14.1 aoscp
any ideas?

msm_otg is only at 1s on wakelock detector. could it still be a problem?
Tried resetting and multiple different kernels (agni. Radon) still have the event warlocks as usual. Anyone have a clue?

Actually, the problem is that latest miui lollipop roms have a new modem which is breaking deep sleep by causing a fingerprint related wakelock, solution is to switch to an older modem from miui 8.0.2 global stable, I have made a recovery flashable zip for that.

not sure if it's the same issue for you, but i had similar problem on lollipop miui. You can find the link to the zip in this post

lol tried that. broke my calling no sound. and still no deep sleep
just updated and flashed the newest miui global stable through miflash (flash_all bat and reunlocked bootloader) (8.1.1.0) and still no deep sleep sadly.
*edit
Woah weird wtf moment... miui says my phones sleeping yet another usage app in miui says im always awake i wonder which one is telling the truth.
*2nd edit.
also kinda weird... i have wifi off and scanning off so no clue why wifi on is showing?
So update, back again at the latest dev preview (7.1.5 at this point) aaaand still nothing, no deep sleep and ive lost almost 50% overnight. keep in mind that i have installed no apps what so ever and i even debloated the rom. any ideas anyone?
Lol, I got this problem like 1 year, and it seems like there is no solution. you can try CM 13 roms maybe, they seem to sleep. I have this problem in all MIUI roms and I'm not alone, there are lots of the on internet. I think, this ain't a software problem. It is hardware related.

I am on CM9 nightly and kernel that comes with it, latest updates always!
And yesterday I charged my SGS2 to 100% unplugged cable and at the morning when I checked it, it was dead! tried to go in download mode, it sayed battery level is too low! and really it drain 100% of battery in 8 hours idle!
Is it possible to fix such a issue?
Yes, by seeing what's using the battery, not by making a new thread with no useful information.

With the amount of battery threads that come up on this site it is surprising you haven't bumped into the routine of downloading betterbatterystats and seeing what is keeping your phone awake. You should also see if this happens on a fresh install with NONE of your apps installed. Completely stock with your contacts synced.
your issue sounds reasonable my device was awake on the 4/29 build, its best to talk about nightly builds in the discussion thread, charge it up and see whats keeping it awake
you wont get help without this

Cyanogen9 is still deep in beta, that means it isn't finished, that means if you have a problem it's because the ROM isn't perfect. Why would you make a forum post about this? It happened once, not even a few times, why the **** would you make a post about something that happened once and you have done nothing to get to the bottom of it? Seriously what.
There are many stable Custom ROM of Android 4.0.x that you can use instead of CM9 'Nightly Builds'....

See this. While this isn't currently a "what's the best ROM" thread, the very nature of your question will result in the same debate those types of threads tend to generate.
Someone could really like a ROM and suggest it to you, and you try it, and you might decide it sucks. Try ROMs out yourself until you find one you like. Don't be lazy.

Missed that, did you?
Hello everyone,
So i did a fresh install of CM11 (coming from stock 4.3) hoping it would solve the wake lag issues the stock rom had because it was really annoying having to wait 1-3 seconds for my phone to wake up.
I was surprised that almost nothing changed after the flashing CM11 (i admit there is a slight improvement but still not even close to what i expected).
Is anyone else having problems with wake lag?
Any help would be appreciated.

anyone? i was thinking about flashing the boeffla kernel, would that help?

No, unless you want to eliminate deep sleep.

so even flashing a new kernel won't help?
i read that ZRAM might be causing the problem, but the option to disable ZRAM is gone in CM11.
Im using CM11 and I could say the wake lag is not that much! And it is not the same from time to time! But generally it wakes up almost immidiately... Im on the CM11 nightlies, clean install, and didnt change anything else!

I'm unaware if that decreases the magnitude of the issue, but you can't ever fix it, save for eliminating deep sleep on an exynos device.

well that sucks.
i also read that Yank555's kernel eliminates the lag, but it's only for 4.3.
My one plus x has not been going to deep sleep recently, tried to check with permissions but theres nothing helpful. Its unrooted. Please help as it drains battery like hell.

it was ok before, but recently i updated all apps and i guess after that , the phone is into a constant wakelock. Android os alone has eaten around 200 mbs data in background.
Yes android OS eats that much.. It's fine.. Do you turn off Internet or WiFi during sleep?

I would suggest you try disabling the ambient notification display, since it's the only thing that comes to my mind that would need the proximity sensor a lot.

Maybe try the bluspark kernel? If even that does not help, you could search on how to disable the proximity sensor service completely. But before you do anything sketchy like that, open a ticket with OnePlus. They might have some ideas as well, and they will probably be more happy to replace your device if you haven't tweaked super low-level stuff first.
install Greenify and hibernate the apps which you don't want to run in the background everytime. I have almost installed 100 apps on my OPX still getting 6 hours of SOT on an average with just Greenify without root.

how to open ticket
I'm on 2.1.2 and getting the same problem OP. I don't have proximity wake enabled.
I've been just turning the phone off until OnePlus rolls out the next update.
To open a ticket go here https://oneplus.net/support/ticket/submit but I'm sure you'll be waiting a while for a response. My guess is that they're aware of the problem, its just a matter of pushing out an update.
I have tried pretty much all AOSP ROMs and I am finding that all of them have huge number of wakelocks. At night my phone is awake for about 1.5 to 2 hours out of 7-8 hours and drains 7-10% battery over this time. Even with clean install and only minimum apps installed.
In battery useage apps they show up as Kernel (Android OS) and Linage OS System in battery usage apps. Any idea how to find and resolve this?
same for me!
This only happens on AOSP roms? Not on Lineage OS?

So this doesn't happen in stock rom? I'm getting my Redmi 5 Plus today and i plan to flash a custom rom because i don't like bloatware and gapps, but if this is a big issue i don't know if i should for now.

I don't think so. Stand by on Stock ROM was much better for me. Lost 0% overnight.
same happens to me.
Same for me.
same here. 1% lost every hour overnight, just mobile signal, no wifi, no bluetooth no gps
Try using AppOps to deny the following permissions for the apps you have installed - keep awake, auto start, run in background. Exclude messaging, clock and dialer apps from this procedure.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-0-0-hour-idle-battery-drain-stock-t2973588
These guides can help, but are most likely not longer necessary past Android 7.
I am doing a test by clean flashing, not installing any apps and not even installing Gapps to see if the same drain happens. Will report back.
Cleaned flashed, NO GAPPS, NO other apps, left phone for 8 hours, lost 8%. "Significant motion detector" was awake for 2.5 hours. Same wakelock on all ROMs, seems like an issue with this phone. I don't know if it happens on MIUI but I guess no?
It might be because all the ROMs are based on the initial work of mdeejay and tingyichen, as I understand it. All the AOSP ROMs are basically the same, only varying in tiny amounts of superficial stuff that is added to them.
Did you try the unofficial OmniROM build? It's the only non-Lineage ROM that's developed from scratch (by ex-CM devs), and to me it does feel different than all the rest, in a positive way.
use better battery stats for understanding the culprit. i am on 8.1 AEX and overnight drain is 0.5%. 0n miui it was 1%.
Sent from my vince using XDA Labs
What phone do you have ? 3/32 or 4/64? And what baseband firmware? I ask because I had same 1% per hour drain on aex too. I wonder if having encryption on makes a difference?
I am tired of trying new roms and kernels but all behave the ssme. 35% time awake

Please post a Log from Better Battery Stats. The only thing I can think of is that weak signal is draining your device's battery.

Hi guys,
I just wanna ask if this is normal when it comes to sensor wakelock. I've been trying to identify the idle drain of my phone (Xiaomi Mi 8), and everything is fine except when it comes to these Google Play Services sensor wakelocks:
ICM20690
sns_smd
I've tried to research about this but came empty handed. I also disabled motion sensor for Google Play Services but the wakelock is still there.
Any ideas? Thank you
EDIT:
I've also tried flashing custom roms or kernel but the sensor wakelock is still there and my idle drain is still kinda bad. I just wanna if this normal. Thank you!
Morning!
So, I've been having horrible battery drain overnight and last night I found out that I could have the same issue as yourself.
I'm running a OnePlus 6 running OOS 10 stable, Google Play Services beta version. Last night I finally picked up that a wakelock caused by Google Play Services, in particular, using sensors (sns_smd) caused a lot of drain.
So far this morning, I've turned off 'pocket mode' in my settings, reverted to stable Google Play Services and cleared the app data for it too.
I'm not sure what else there could be to do to remedy the issue.
Did you manage to solve this for yourself?

I found this thread after searching for solutions to the exact same problem I'm having on my OP6 since being on OOS10. I've upgraded to the latest OOS11 but the issue is still there. sns_smd is keeping my phone awake even though I've disabled pocket mode, disabled double-tap to wake etc etc. I'm just hoping that someone managed to figure out how to deal with this.
