I need root for Galaxy J7 Prime SM-G610F on Marshmallow 6.0.1
I tried a lot of methods and I couldn't find a working one.
Is there a way to unlock the bootloader on that device?

All of Samsung devices come with unlocked bootloader, Aren't they?
If it has an unlocked bootloader see if you can find a twrp or cwm tar file
Assuming you find it flash the custom recovery in Odin
Then boot to recovery and flash a super su zip file

why that
I haven't used an HTC phone in over a year since the original M7 release. I'm used to Samsungs where all you need to do is open odin and flash a few files and boom you're done. I can unlock the bootloader no problem but I am confused on the steps to get twrp on it. Can I just follow a guide for the M7?
for those who also need help, i found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694564
Just unlock boot loader on htcdev site, flash twrp and when you go into the recovery and exit it'll root for you

Can this be undone with no trace of prior root?

I assume you just unroot and flash stock recovery and relock boot loader

I unlocked the boot loader from official website. Now I have checked all the tutorials are for rooting Miui 7 on android 5.1.
It requires adb flashing the modded boot.img and recovery.img.
But I can't find the boot.img for android 6.0.
If I flash just the recovery.img, some reported that the phone will go into bootloop.
I haven't able to find the online tutorial for rooting on android 6.0.
Please advice! Thanks a bunch!
TIA

Just looking to root and install a mega clean version of android on my japanese galaxy s6 edge. I have build SCV31KDU1CQG1. This phone, and this version is UNLOCKED from AU KDDI.
AFAIK only SCV31KDU1AOCP can be rooted, but I can not find a source for it.
Asking for assistance. Thank you.
You can Always flash TWRP via Odin And root Using it.
Or you can Give kingroot a Shot.

So it doesn't matter the build version?

Yes I already unlocked bootloader
did you tried the existing guides here?
if you did what failed?
I suggest you using the orange fox recovery, I tried before the red wolf but couldnt make it work on latest versions. Once you have the recovery, install magisk.
