I bought a Sprint G5 (LS992) and am using it in Canada, however I have never been able to connect to 4G LTE even though I am sure it works on my carrier's LTE network (Public Mobile, which uses Telus's network). I could still call, text and use data on 3G HSPA+ but not LTE.
I checked the Network type and strength under Mobile networks and only see 3G -65dBm.
In 4G settings under Mobile networks there are two options, one is the Network operator which I could not press into it and the other one being IP address which shows me "0.0.0.0"
Tried to enable LTE by switching the network mode to LTE/CDMA only but not even able to connect to the network (no calls no text nothing)
I am pretty sure G5 is capable of using LTE but just don't know why I am not the one using it.

I'm guessing he wants to enable a normal 2G internet plan on his network for cheap, but use it in 3G by switching to 3G mode. As far as I know, with Airtel the only time I've seen this work is with my friend's AT&T Galaxy S2 unlocked from the US. It's a 4G phone and it doesn't have the usual 'GSM only', 'WCDMA only', 'GSM/WCDMA auto' modes under network settings. So when he recharged for a 2G pack, the phone connected to Airtel's 3G network and displayed a 'H+' symbol in his status bar. He gets 3G speeds quite a few times but sometimes it becomes as slow as 2G. I haven't seen this work on a normal phone bought in India.
I used to get 3g speeds on 2g internet pack from airtel.I always keep the network mode to wcdma.
But sometimes i also get very low 2g speeds.
All this on my old samsung galaxy s

Yeah i was also having 3g speed with 2g plan ! with samsung s2
now i am not at all getting it
but my friends are getting it still now with airtel 2g plan !

I have a tmo V10 from one month.
Factory and Legit unlocked by tmo to works for all networks worlwide.
I use it in Italy.
I love him and this is perfect in all things but i have a problem :
4G LTE it works like a charm but when i power on device or switch from wifi to LTE or switch from airplane mode to LTE : data connection is not present and 3G too, no data at all, 4G LTE icon yes.
I can't open web pages and use my data plan.
To make works I have to switch mobile data to : GSM/WCDMA wait that 3G signal is on and then turn back to WCDMA/ LTE Auto - and so, after this i have full 4G/LTE signal working .
I suppose could be caused from a tmo app in background that block first LTE or generic Data access

I recently purchased a XT1527 - AT&T go phone and it was working well in USA as I got 4G signals all over.
I am now back to India using Idea network, the phone gives me only 2g network
I even tried *#*#4636#*#* and set the preferred network to
a) WCDMA only - couldn't find any network
b) LTE only - gives me only 2G
c)LTE/WCDMA - got only 2g
I also don't see the preferred network options under
Settings->wirless and networks->more option
how to resolve this issue?
Att model may not have the radio bands you need to get anything higher than 2g. Sounds like your issue with me.

The North American models only have the 3G/4G bands for North American networks. You'll only get 2G internationally.
My Z5C E5823 wont connect or get any LTE network, only H+ at most.
I'm on Telstra network, other sim doesnt work too. But works just fine if I popped it to my Mi Max 2.
I can see both LTE and 3G network if I have to manually search for network operator, but selecting LTE network will produce similar result.
Downloaded the appropriate APN settings, same.
Tried to set LTE as preferred network type, same.
No data, no signal on LTE mode.
I don't know much about the history of this phone, got this from an acquaintance who also has this issue from the moment he got it.

the same thing happens to me and with the same baseband
I have a Honor 5X with two sims an ATT and also a T mobile i have the ATT on the 2/3/4g setting since att does not support 2g anymore and i have the t mobile on the 2g one since in my area 2g is still supported but i cannt seem to get the right APN Setting. i keep losing signal on my t-mobile line every so often. trying to see if anyone else uses this and has found a way to keep a good signal with t mobile
