Hello all...
I've looked around and can't find anything to help me out, but I know this can be done. I have Luncher Pro Plus and have a dock background that i would love to see fully. To do this, I need transparent dock images, but don't want the stock ones that came with Launcher Pro. I would love to create my own, but don't know what file type to save as or how exactly to go about this. I know it can be done as the stock Launcher Pro ones are transparent! I have Corel PaintShop available to use as well as drawing software (CAD). So I can draw practically anything I want and save it to any format I want. I just don't know the process of making a white image with a black background to have a transparent background.
To put it this way; I want essentially my dock background (which is nearly solid black) to have a drawn outline of the phone, person, boxes, message, world (see attached image)... no gradient filler like on Launcher Pro ones.
If anyone can point me to a tutorial I am missing somewhere, or simply let me know how to do this, It would be greatly appreciated!! I'm trying to customize my phone and what better way to do it than with completely custom images!!!!
you have to save it as png or gif file (I recommend png, it's higher quality). I use photoshop so I don't know how to do it on corel, this is what a quick google search turned up: http://www.axialis.com/tutorials/tutorial-misc002.html
PS: an image with the grey and white squares as a background while in corel means there's no background (transparent)

I also found... It took me a while playing with corel but I figured it out!! I love having icons that no one else has.... I would recommend everyone playing around with custom icons!

GIMP works very well to edit these images. I have photoshop CS5 for everyday use at work, but when I edit anything in the framework, I use GIMP. Its free, just google it.
Anybody know of an app that will take a small image and create a tiled wallpaper from it? I know how to do it with an image editing program but an Android app to do it would be great. I have various patterns like bricks, coins, etc that I've collected over the years.
IM not sure what u want but if IM not wrong photo grid is an app which combines numerous pictures into one it's free on market
from raj's s2
Sort of... That app will combine up to 9 photos (they can all be the same) into one, but there are seams between the photos and the result doesn't work well as a tiled wallpaper.
What I'm looking for is what Windows does, take a small image and without resizing it just tile it as the wallpaper, hopefully without intermediate steps.
I have come from a HTC phone, and the Weather clock that HTC has in Sense is the best of them out there. Now the Samsung has…
Garbage
So I am looking at 3rd party options, and have found a few good ones, No they don’t have all the little features of the HTC one, but they cover the important basses (easy access to the alarm setup being the key one apart from displaying the weather and being small), well all But one.
I am in Victoria, Australia (GMT+11) and the Lock screen on the Galaxy syncs to the correct location, as do the little weather apps that come with the phone, but all the third party Weather clocks decide that Victoria mean Victoria Canada (GMT-8) now knowing that it is going to be cloudy with a top of 9c and a low of 5c in Canada might be a lot of fun… But it doesn’t help me here in Aus (29c & Sunny if you are interested)
Are there any Weather Clocks out there that hit a Data source that is aware of locations off the American Continent?
Took me one quick search on play to find this

Yes, which is a great weather app, but not a Clock with weather and the ability to jump into setting alarms directly
I use weatherzone.

So here is the idea, a X-Cross Media Bar (XMB) style interface launcher that can be used on android devices, phones or tablets, but I plan on using it on my N7 since I use a Bluetooth keyboard I use for remote desktop and chrome and a pc xbox controller for games from time to time I have been trying to figure out how to make a decent android home screen that interacts like the XMB controls wise but have come up short.
I have found quite a few threads and other pages for stuff like this that has moved nowhere in the past and was hoping you guys might be able to get something in some sort of solution to my desire for a clean interactive interface. The closest thing i have, thanks to one of my friends who first came up with the idea but I have obsessively been trying to find a way to perfect, is using Nova launcher with folders set to tap to open a set app and swipe up to open the folder and a custom icon based off a PS3 theme pack I took the images from all arranged in an XMB style (picture linked) with the Wave Life Wallpaper to give it that PSP/PS3 look.
Basically all I want is an interface that interacts like the XMB, can be controlled either with directional buttons or by swiping across the screen (or tapping the icon of what you want if possible). But the big kicker here is that it has to support each column set acting as a customizable folder, like in Nova, and a standard app drawer where you can see all your apps. I don't even care if this requires xposed, a different launcher, and widgets, I want it and have done everything short of trying to code it myself. (probably not a good idea, I'm a network guy, not a good programmer)
All the pages I have come across in search of the pot of gold:

http://home.gna.org/gp2xmb/
https://code.google.com/p/xpmb/
http://boards.dingoonity.org/jxd-devices/xmb-launcher-for-android-5891/
The second to last one was a launcher somebody made, and believe it or not runs on 5.0.2, but has some issues and does not really let you change anything. The last Link is an actually functional one but does not allow for much customization.
What I am thinking of is more of a launcher that allows you to create columns for certain things and select which apps fill them like a folder does, allows you to have whatever wallpaper (static, scrolling, live) and has customization options. If somebody out there can program this and get it working I would pay for it. It just seems like such a usable interface for when using a controller, keyboard, or even on a touchscreen as a way different way to have everything organised. Although a standard app drawer would still be nice to avoid having every app in a column and just the ones you frequently use (I basically want an XMB in place of multiple desktops on the home screen)
Just let me know if anybody can help me figure this out.
Hi there
Some days ago I have sadly changed my HTC One M9 Plus after 3 and half years of service, the last of a 10 years experience with HTC from the HD2...what a sad situation about the brand.
Anyway I have bought a Samsung S9 Plus which seems not bad at all but I have some questions about it:
1) I have seen that is it possible to change the resoution of the screen, currently I'm on 2220*1080 but I could go for 2960*1440, anyway some widget already have small text, I have tried the upper resolution and a lot of things (icons etc) doesn't seems define enough to support it. What do you suggest?
2) I miss some HTC hystorc widget like the weather flip-clock and the contact widget for making quick call, do you know if there is a chance to install them on the samsung?
3) Is that possible to change the disposition of the system lower key (home, back and multitasking) ?
4) Is that possible to wake up the phone from the always on with a double tap?
5) Is that possible to have a wallpaper for the home and a different wallpaper for the all apps menu?
Welcome over from HTC. I too was a fan of their products until the last 4 years.
1. Yes, Settings -> Display -> Screen Resolution -> Select WQHD+ although will use more battery.
2. Download Sense Flip or Flipv2 from marketplace.
3. Yes, Settings -> Display -> Navigation Bar on the bottom -> Select your preferred order.
4. Not entirely sure if it's possible.
5. Not entirely sure. I prefer using a different launcher like Nova Launcher and use it to mimic Google as much as possible.
Hi there!
Thanks you very much for your answears!
I have tried the 2 widget that emulates the HTC flip clock but I don't I guess it's not the same thing as the original, also the have a low resolution for this phone.
I have also searched a contact widget to add photo of favorites contacts for quick calls, I have found some but they all are too much small for the resolution of the S9+

Use edge panel for favorite contacts with their photos, otherwise you have stock contacts widget which works just fine
Ok edge panel is nice otherwise the contact widget add too much small photo of your contact and also also you need to manually add one by one, you cannot have a table
