I got permission Long back when i was on MIUI 7 earlier Build but now when trying again to unlock the bootloader, Mi Unlock tool stops while authenticating my user ID and it responds
"Your device isn't supported by Mi Unlock, go to unlock.update.miui.com to apply for Mi Unlock support and view the progress". When i go to that link (i.e. the Mi Unlock application site) and i click on the only button in there "Unlock Now" it simply goes to a simple web page that says "Apply for unlocking permissions. Sorry, your application has been rejected. The more active your Mi Account is, the more likely your application will get approved." with no further action possible.
I have planned to flash RR N Update for that i have gone through the process of using mi unlock app for unlocking bootloader but i am getting such message.
Please Help me out i am in search for the solution.

Unlocking unofficially is very easy. But you will have to make downloads of 1.5gb
Here is the link for the guide:

No, unlock permission is for account, you can unlock one device each month. No need for reapply.
Device not supported could be wrong rom version, you need developer version for unlock.

try this. This is neither official nor unofficial. I got permission from mi to unlock bootloader. This is a dump image of devinfo which contains the unlock state. Sort of like a token file. Flash it via edl. Flashing files included.
All you have to do is start your device in edl mode. check you port number, and run unlock.bat file.
Is this still valid and also available for the redmi 4 prime ?

This is interesting. I have the global ROM and get the same message after 50%. . . couldn't verify. . . when trying to unlock the bootloader. What would you suggest for me. . . get the Global Developer ROM?
The Xiaomi solution is: if it doesn't work the first time, wait a week, then it will!
@doktorspin, here what I've done:
1)My phone asks me to make an update to the latest version, so I did
2)Then I signed up in MI account in the phone [settings =>account =>mi account]
3)boot on fastboot, opened mi flash, and then it works over 50%, and didn't give me any more the error '' couldnt verify device.... "
So it works for me, but I don't know if I only was Lucky
Your O.P. indicates you have the Chinese stable ROM and Peshkoff recommended that you flash the Chinese developer ROM to fix the "couldn't verify device" problem. I wondered if he'd recommend the Global developer ROM for someone with the same "couldn't verify device" problem but with the Global stable ROM.

Because xiaomi phones are locked, if you wanna unlock them you must do a procedure, after it you must wait an SMS from xiaomi that allows you to unlock bootloader with mi flash

That's not an explanation: it's a rehearsal of Xiaomi policy. Locking the bootloader is definitely not modification friendly.
And I have the SMS. It is useless when the Xiaomi servers are incapable of verifying my data in order to unlock the bootloader. There is no explanation. Locking the bootloader with a hopeless system to unlock it is needless stupidity.
@doktorspin this xiaomi service sucks. They should not unlock bootloader so there were no problems.

No, there are sufficient problems either way.
I want to control my fonts, not use the rubbish someone else packages. I want to monitor my Wi-fi and internet, not live in the hope that Xiaomi is able to protect the phone. I want to be able to change the look and feel of my phone. I want to use CyanogenMod as the operating system: Xiaomi will continue to fiddle with a closed system and won't be able to provide longterm updates.

There could be a couple of things wrong, are you not following the procedure correctly? You must flash the China Dev fastboot rom to unlock your bootloader. Once you do that you need to log in on the phone to the mi account that you requested the unlock permission for. You need to switch the OEM unlock option on under developer settings and then log into your mi account (has to be the same as on your phone) on the Xiaomi unlocker tool on your PC.
couldn"t verify
Hooray! I managed to unlock the bootloader after 10 days.
SOLVED: I updated to latest Chinese Rom
I solved the problem by following the instructions from this forum here : http://en.miui.com/thread-257729-1-1.html
In fact, my MI MIX was already unlocked for some reasons but I would not know if I did not check. I was getting the same error "Couldn't verify device" stuck at 50%.

Is there any way to switch to china developer rom from Global Dev 7.2.23? Updater won't let me. Or is there a specific chinese rom version that is allowed to flash via updater? Thanks!
First of all thankyou very much Xiaomi for this!!!
Recently Xiaomi has released update for MIUI8 v8.1 2.
You can download it from its official website.
You should be logged in with you mi account in your phone.
I have already unlocked my redmi note 3 with same account so i did have the unlock approval for same account.
So i am not sure whether this will work without unlock bootloader approval.
No harm in trying.....
I was in Global stable rom v8.0.5
Steps:
Download the latest recovery rom v8.1.2 from the official website.
Save it in your internal memory in downloaded_rom folder.
Open updater app.
Select update pakage from menu.
It will update your rom to 8.1.2.
Nothing will erase by this.. All your files and apps will be there after update.
Once phone booted.. Go check the rom version in settings and then in about.
If its v8.1.2 then go to additional settings then developer option.
There you will see Mi unlock status go in it.
It will show locked.
at bottom you will see a button add account to unlock.
Press it, it will associate your Mi account to unlock bootloader request.
Download mi unlock tool.
Boot your phone into fastboot mode.
Login to your account in mi unlock tool and click unlock.
And you have Unlocked your bootloader.
Good news is unlocking bootloader does not erase your internal memory nor it formats your phone.
Enjoy!!!!!
I noticed and tried this earlier also but unfortunately have to report that it did not work. It was worded so that it seemed you didn't need unlock permission but you do.
But unlocking bootloader is already easy and totally legal. Why someone want to do like this way, instead of unlocking by better, easier way and supported by xiaomi?

This is the xiaomi way, it's just that in the new miui there is a screen in developer options that shows your unlock status. In there is a button that pairs your phone with your xiaomi account and then says to download unlock tool to unlock.
I tried it and it doesn't work without unlock permission. It's just a link to the unlock tool. However I think you need to add your phone from here to your account for unlock to work the "normal" way.

Yes, you are right.
You need unlock permissions.
You need unlocktool
You need to bind the phone to the account with unlock permissions (via developer options is 1 way, you can also simply login to MI account via Accounts)
Not working linking account to device in Dev Options

Thank you, Sir. I have tried the official method for the past seven days, but it gets stuck on 99% Account not bound to this device. That's why I searched for other methods.
Also, I am never going to flash MIUI ROM on my device again. Could the unofficial method still be a problem?

As you have official permissions first try to perform these steps & try unlocking :
> Locate device using MI cloud (find device) https://i.mi.com/
> check if the mail , phone are linked to your MI account
> Enable OEM unlocking & bind MI account with your device in developer options
> Download this https://mega.nz/#F!iQVFTB5Z!elmzC8piy8PukrOxiXHDFw connect the device to pc turned on - go to developer options & revoke USB debugging authorizations - now enable USB debugging - open cmd from the folder which you've downloaded - type adb devices ( hit enter button) - if it displays daemon started on port xxxx - you'll get a pop up on mobile ... accept it - disable pattern lock, num lock, etc delete fingerprints - now try unlocking logging in with a mobile number if it fails then email id & finally with mi account number.
Also make sure to wait for a week to unlock officially.
If everything fails you can proceed to unlock unofficially & remove ****UI from your phone.

Okay, Sir. I'd just like to point out the fact that I noticed one thing mentioned on that thread. It is specifically for Kate (Redmi Note 3 Special Edition) while my device is a plain Redmi Note 3 Kenzo with 2GB Ram and Hexa Core SnapDragon.
I think this might be a problem since that .mbn file mentioned on that page belongs to a different variant.
Can you please point me to the correct thread? Or a method that uses .mbn file to unlock bootloader on my device?

Hi!
I've got this Xiaomi Redmi 3 that I bought over the internet a year a go. I noticed the software was going kinda clunky and I could not reset to factory settings or flash the image so I applied for permissions on xiaomi to get the boot loader unlocked and I received an sms saying they allowed it however for some reason I keep getting different messages.
when I use the official unlock tool from xiaomi it passed the account permission verification then I click unlock and then it says "Current account is not bound to this device"
I don't know what else to do... Any ideas?
You must the only same account in mobile and in MiUnlock on PC!
1) Mi Account must be bound on both phone and Mi Unlock.
2) Receiving approval message doesn't mean you can directly go unlock. I need about a week after binding account to the device before being able to unlock.

Hello.
I recently got my new Redmi Note 5 3/32GB Global version. Simply, I don't like MIUI's 10 performance, so I want to use custom ROM. I logged to my MI Account, downloaded Mi Unlock (v3 and v2).
v3 - account application area query failed
v2 - it counts to 50% then stop with message "Device unlocked no need to repeat unlock"
Mi Flash - does not see my device, same as fastboot. USB Debugging enabled, currently running on MIUI 10.0.2.0.
+ I tried to create new account, ends up with some error message in chinese.
How to unlock that tarded bootloader? Thanks for your time...
Did you follow every step? Checked "OEM Unlock" in settings, linked account to device?

By the message that you received it looks that your device was shipped unlocked.
What do you type in fastboot mode to say fastboot doesn´t recognice it? provide some screenshot.
Did you check in developer options to verify if is already unlocked?
