Hi, I rooted my phone and uninstalled "live wallpaper picker". I decide I want it back so I found the .apk file on the internet and downloaded it but the problem is that when I try to install the file it just says "App not installed" and that's it. I did a factory data reset without deleting user data through the "Backup & reset" service. I've no idea what else to try since I'm not really an Android expert.
The issue is the same with "Android Live Wallpapers".
Cheers
EDIT: I tried installing another completely random app the same way and the problem is the same. I am running these through the "File Commander" app.

After flashing to TNT Lite 4.20 I now have to clear an error message every time I boot my G Tab. It says "Sorry! The application Google Partner Setup (process.com.google..android.partnership) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
A Force Close is required to clear it, or else it messes with email (and maybe other stuff).
Questions:
- I've located this in /system/app using iFileManager and it's an apk file ... can it be safely deleted?
- How do I delete it? I'm not familiar with iFilemanager, and don't see a "delete" option. Can I delete it with CWD or Titanium Backup?
Thanks!

I know this has come up before, but all I find is other people asking my same question:
Can I safely delete the Google Partner Setup apk from my system/app folder?
It's not loading (requires a FC for the tablet to boot), but I'm still reluctant to remove anything from the system directory in case it's required somehow.
Help???

Google Partner Setup is used (at least) by the browser. You could try disabling it using Autorun Manager from Market instead of deleting the .apk file. Be warned that doing so on my system caused the browser to exit without warnings on quite few sites--those that have Google Ads are esp. problemmatic.
My advice is to first go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > select "All", find "Google Partner Setup" and then "Clear data". If that doesn't work, get into ClockworkMod and there do a "wipe data/factory reset" (and also possibly a "wipe cache partition").
Thanks Raj. I'll give it a try.

Hi, I'm on Foxhound's Revolver Ocelot ROM and I keep getting these two messages whenever I try to download anything from the Play market;
Package file is invalid & Insufficient storage available
I cannot download a single app from the Play market.
Please someone help me to resolve this, preferably without a factory reset.

Try to download apps using another network connection. Sometime it many be a temporary network issue. Also try these methods http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2011/12/fix-android-package-file-is-invalid.html
try what MyLifeRocks10 said: "go into either the /system/app/ or /data/app/ directory and delete the odex file that has the same name as the respective .apk"
I'm trying to download Sports Car Challenge and am getting the same problems.
First it was insufficient storage space, so I rebooted, same problem. Then I unmounted sdcard, app cannot be installed in default location, so I remounted sdcard now I get package file invalid.
AAARRGGHHHH !
I've tried clearing cache of google play store but no difference.
I am running standard XWLPG firmware with CF-root.
Solved. Sort of.
I've spent two days prowling the web searching for solutions for the "package file invalid" error. My problem was that maps would not restore from a backup or install from the market. I did one of everything in an attempt to solve it, I'm pretty sure. Since it looks like the cache is simply jammed up, preventing the install of large Google apps, I used a Titanium Backup filter to list all my apps that reside on the phone rather than on the SD card. I uninstalled a few of the bigger ones (actually just three of the biggest) and then went to the market to install maps. Came through without a problem. Strangely, using Titanium again I was able to restore all those apps I'd uninstalled to make room for maps. I have no idea why that worked – it seems spatially impossible – but for now, at least, problem solved. What a total hair-puller the invalid package error is.

+1 to this..
playstore is giving the error "package file is invalid" for almost all the apps i download.
i've cleared cache, restored it to default, used a different apk and finally restored it back to factory settings. still the same error.
also tried this method
1). Log into Google Play Store
(using a browser)
2). Scroll to the bottom of the page
& locate "My Orders & Settings"
3). Click on the Settings Tab
4). Assign a "Nickname" to your
phone
5). Check "Shown in Menus"
6). Save settings
7). Return to the Play Store and
download Apps as normal!

The phone is not rooted. using stock everything.
Try formatting your sd card or try using another sd card.......the main problem is of storage......either your sd card cannot store it properly.....or your net connection is problematic.....because Google's server cannot be down ever...

yeah maybe yyou have problem with internet connection :S
Have u tried connecting to Wifi and then try downloading apps I had the same issue but when I tried again it was all normal
I dont think the problem is with my Internet connection. My sister has a galaxy r and if i download the same app on her phone, it installs perfectly.
I only use wifi to download apps.
Will try formatting the sdcard and tell you if that helps
try rooting it
i also have that problem before rooting on my xperia neo l. after rooting my phone, the error never appeared. thanks god
I have a Nabi 2 4GB that I have rooted. I have installed Link2SD in order to expand the storage to load more games.
I just noticed when the tablet is in Daddy Mode, the "Add Apps" icon is now the green Android guy. When I click on the icon, I get an error that the "App is not installed". I have searched the internal sdcard storage for the "App Apps" app but I can't find it anywhere on the device.
Does anyone know where Fuhu stores the native apps on the device and if there is a way to reinstall the "Add Apps" app?
Everything else seems to be working normally, but now I have no way to add apps to Nabi Mode once new apps are installed.
I had decided to restore the tablet back to stock then re-root the device.
The last thing I tried was resetting the tablet to factory defaults. After resetting to defaults, the "Add Apps" icon returned and the tablet is now working normally again.
So the solution was to reset to factory defaults!
Hi, the program Tinycam monitor Pro was working ok but today I was going to update the list of cameras from Download folder (by xml file) something went wrong and I can't access archive from this app. please look the video:
I have this error as it tries to open the default android file manager (or library) that it looks to have been redirected to another installed program, how can I fix it? Which is the name of the app/service for file manager? I've searched for it in all apps and all system apps, to delete its data and restore it, I couldn't find a compatible name. In this Android (probably 7) there aren't options to choosethe deafault apps too, It's a Sony Bravia.
I've tried to delete data of Tinycam monitor Pro, uninstall and reinstall it from google play. I've stopped other apps to boot from startup and reboot, I've installed another file manager hoping it put itself as "default". I've tried with all other apps (VLAN, Mxplayer, file manager, x plore, ando others) accessing the storage, and they do it without problems, except this. How can I fix it? Which google module I've to "reset" to try fix it? How other choices I have?
Thanks
Has somebody idea how to solve it? Thanks
I'm searching for help, thank you
help, thanks
