Voice Mail - Screen stays black during VM playback - Verizon LG V10

Hello everyone,
So, when I use Verizon's voice mail app and play back a message the screen goes black and I can not wake it back up. Double tap does not work, power button does not work until the complete message has played. That can get really old if you have a 3 minute message of silence. Anyway I was wondering if any of you ran into this and had a way to fix it. or a better voice mail app.
I think this might have some conflict with Android Wear, but I'm not sure.
Thanks!

Fonix Voice Dial - part of new O2 apps

Hi all,
This works well for me apart from one thing.
I have assigned the voicedial to my 'record' button.
However, every time i hit the button it first goes to the 'voices and parameters' screen which I have to OK before proceeding to dial. This is obviously very annoying. Do others get this or have I missed a setting option somehwere? I am using the 'Recorded Voice' voice.

OK - have found that using ANY other voice apart from the 'Recorded Voice' option works fine and I don't get the first screen - weird!

I get an error every time it tries to update the voice tags, cant fix it either.

[Q] Car Bluetooth voice commands & Google Hangouts & Mate 2 on data only

OK, I received the Mate 2 yesterday and am trying a data plan and Google Hangouts w/ dialer. Works well. I paired bluetooth to my car. Now here is the question: Is there any way to get the bluetooth commands to go to Hangouts dialer versus the phone dialer? I was able to speak fine but have to manually dial and hang up. Probably not, but I would like to be pleasantly surprised.

I see the question now. No I don't think you can initiate a call via Bluetooth in hangouts but on mine I can end a call and answer via a button on my steering wheel or also on my plantronics bluetooth headset.

My car bluetooth will not answer or end a call but I can talk. I just ran up several minutes cause I thought it ended the connection - whoops.

Hangouts doesn't use minutes, it uses data, so you ran up some data. ?

time is money is data. Do you honestly think you had to point that out and that I didn't know the difference?
What I am wondering is why the bluetooth will interface with the regular dialer and not the hangups dialer and if there is a way to point it to the hangups dialer.

I've tried a few things that don't work. Another thing I found out that doesn't work is sending a text from my gwatch. I can respond to texts and hangouts messages from my watch, hangouts is my default texting app, but if I try to send a text, it says it sends but doesn't. Nor does using Google now to send a message. It says no texting app installed. Very confused. Not sure if it's a problem with the phone, the watch, hangouts, Google now. I'll play with it more when I find the time.

If the person on the other end of the call hung up, the call would end.
I've noticed that the proximity sensor doesn't respond in the hangouts dialer like it does in the stock dialer (ie making a call with the phone, finish call, take phone away from ear, screen automatically turns on and shows current call). Hangouts dialer is still pretty new, many minor things can be improved.
Also, the "voice dialer" app that comes stock on the Huawei Ascend Mate2 is only going to work with the stock dialer. I don't know if that is what you are trying to get to work with the hangouts dialer. If you are, it won't work.

The call I made where it didn't hand up was directed to voice mail on their end. Bluetooth "end call" didn't break the connection and it never hung up - It was several minutes later that I noticed it and it showed a connection still.
Yes, I agree that there probably will be improvements made to the hangouts dialer as time goes on. Maybe Googe will do a voice dialer add on. Or maybe a 3rd party voice dialer for hangups will appear.
I also have noticed odd behavior in the hangups app. Sometimes when I dial the person answers and yet it keeps on ringing on my end (called my wife while she was standing next to me).

Voicemail notification???

Hello, I have a voicemail notification on my gear and I don't have any voice mails. I tried to disconnect the Bluetooth but my watch freezes when trying to call voicemail . I then have to hold the home key and restart.. When I'm connected to my device it just calls my voicemail and tells me I have no messages but the notification is still there. Anybody know what's going on

That's slightly worrying! Did you cancel it off by dialing voicemail on the phone first? Or did you just call voicemail from the Gear when the notification came through?
I am thinking that because you cannot officially dismiss anything on the phone from the Gear, by dialing voicemail from the Gear you are effectively doing that, (as the dismissal actually then comes from the carrier to the phone) . I believe this will cause the notification to stick on the Gear.

Still an issue?
I am having this same issue. Anyone come up with a solution yet? I rather not reset my watch if I could avoid it.
Hold down the voicemail notification and the window will get smaller with a red minus sign in the upper right hand corner. touch the red sign to dismiss it.
I have a visual voice mail notification that won't go away? Has anyone figured out how to make it go away?

I had this same issue. The native voicemail notification could not be dismissed. In Gear Manager I had selected both the native voice mail and visual voice mail notifications. I'm thinking there must be a conflict because now that I have only the visual voice mail notification selected I am able to dismiss it. I had to factory reset my Gear to get the native notification to go away. No issues since.

That's way too convoluted. The easiest way to dismiss it is to long press and hold the Gear S voice mail notification screen until it shrinks to display a screen edit mode. Tap the '-' icon to delete the voice mail notification screen.
Now, go back and uncheck the voice mail notification in Gear Manager will make sure it never happens again.
The way this is managed on T-Mobile sucks. I have my phone number, my gear s number, and a Google voice number. No matter which number the voicemail belongs to, it shows the voicemail icon on the watch. When you call your voicemail on the watch, if it is connected to you phone, it will call the phones voicemail. Unless you dial the watch number and go into the voicemail, you are probably going to always call the phones voicemail.
That has nothing to do with T-Mobile. If you are BT connected to the phone, the watch's own cell radio is auto-disabled and when you make a call, it will only call from the phone. You have to disconnect from BT and make it remotely connected in order to call for watch's voice mail. But then, you can't call for your phone's voice mail. That's why I suggest you disable voice mail notification from the phone.
Also, the icons are slightly different between voicemail left for the phone and for the watch.

This fixed my voicemail notification that was unable to be removed.

Unable to clear VM notification from watch
The voicemail notification is for my watch as it has the watch icon on it.
But I am unable to dismiss it. No matter for how long I press it, the option to delete the screen doesn't come.
It is a used watch and I am unable to dial the voicemail from that number. Any workaround?

Help! My HTC One m7 dialer and messenger not working after 5.0 update!

I was updating my HTC one google play edition and got a error message (android bot died). I managed to restart my phone and now my dialer and messenger are not working. It takes a long time to launch the dialer and making a call also takes a long time (10-20s). When it is finally dialing, I hear no dial tone or ringing. When I hang up, it gets stuck on the Hanging up screen for a long time, up to a minute sometimes. When I received a call and answer, I can't hear anything.
The messenger is also wrecked. Launching the messenger just closes it almost instantly. I tried a factory reset and the problem persist. I can't even make a phone call. I search through the net and found some similar problems back in Dec 2014 but I have no idea how to fix this one. There are other weird things after the update; sometimes I will get utterly no signal from T-mobile in places I know I have LTE. Sometimes restarting or switching the mobile on/off will get me back on the LTE.
I have not root the phone or did any modifications.

Question Updated phone app broke visual voicemail. How to fix?

Hi folks,
Completely stock, unrooted, fully up to date Pixel 6 purchased from Google, running on AT&T in the US. Yesterday Visual Voicemail was working fine. Today, woke up to new icons for both Messages and the Phone app on my home screen. I had heard that new versions with new icons were rolling out, no big deal.
However, during a meeting my phone rang, and I didn't get a visual voicemail of the transcript. After the meeting I went into the app and it said something like "Visual Voicemail isn't working. Call voice mail to set up."
I called voicemail and entered my password code (manually, why didn't it remember my password) but there was nothing in there about VVM.
Any idea what's going on here?
I may have fixed it by turning off VVM, then turning it back on and re-enabling transcription. It took a few minutes hung at the "activating" stage, but then seemed to clear up. I left a message, and it got transcribed and I can see this in the app now.
However, I think they monkeyed with the layout a bit. And the shortcut on my homescreen to the VVM window is gone. Why do they change things that work fine already?
