Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Bricked not responding at all - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I got my new phone a couple of days back, installed CM13 (officially unlocked, did that with TWRP + install ROM) probably incorrectly because i couldn't get the fingerprint sensor and other stuff to work at all.
Today my phone turned off by itself with around 70% of battery left and it's not responding anymore. Cannot go into Recovery mode, not even to Fastboot. Connected it to the charger and have the red light of the devil blinking... Tried to do everything i found online but i couldn't get into EDL mode (and then Flash through MiFlash), since fastboot is not working at all.
I really don't wanna have to open the back of the phone and. What can i do to save the phone? Is there any proven solution and a comprehensive guide to this (for a total idiot like me)?

Yes there is deep flash cable method search on xda/youtube it works like a charm,😉, this method saved me once
Try this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-hard-bricked-redmi-t3490055) works 100%

Try to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
This has kicked me into EDL mode once and after flashing it was fine

Both methods are sound, but if you decide to remove the back cover, remember to eject the SIM card tray first

Thanks for the replies, i was hoping i wouldn't have to have to open the back cover and disconnect the battery but it seems to be the only option at this point.

The deep flash cable doesn't seem that difficult tho, why don't you give it a shot? It seems like that's what they use at MI service centres after all.

So i have managed successfully to have the pc recognise the device as Qualcomm Hs USB Qdloader 9008, opened the MiFlash tool and recognised the device, but when i try to flash a stable MIUI rom i get an error: "Write timed out" as many times i tried to do it.
Does anybody have a suggestion?
My device was unlocked officially and i have no recovery no fastboot nothing at all.

My Note 3 bricked

As I was trying to flash global rom via miflash, It gave an error at %50 helloblabla and stuck at nowhere. Just red led blinking. When I connect it to the pc, It is seen as diagnostics 900e (com10). I hold volume + and - and plug the usb cable after taking out battery and usb cable for 10 seconds and putting them back from back but It doesn't work. I cannot see my device in miflash to flash the device.
Use the deep flash method mentioned here
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=310325&extra=page=1&page=1&mobile=2
Had the same issue on my rn3 and was able to recover it using this method(when test point seemed the only option). You just need a copper wire strand to do this. Short the usb 2nd pin as in the video, then remove cable and reinsert. Phone will be detected as unknown device, then update driver and phone will be shown as qdownloader 9008 mode. Next open miflash and flash rom.

I wish I could go in fastboot mode Device doesn't turn on at all. It needs deep flashing as I can learn. Will do it soon today.

Bootlooped RN3P.. currently a paperweight.

This morning I decided I'd try to install CM14.1 instead of what I was running at the time, MIUI8. I must have flashed the wrong Official ROM and everything has gone downhill since then. I've also asked reddit for some advice and was told to install official developer ROM through EDL. That has been my goal for the last few hours but I haven't managed to do it yet. I believe I am accessing EDL but I don't really know how to tell, through Device Manager I see "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E (COM3)" but cannot flash through MiFlash as no device appears. When I am in fastboot I can see my device through MiFlash but cannot flash anything to it as I get "mismatching image and device" even though I am 95% sure that this is the correct ROM I should be flashing.
Please help I am beginning to stress out, any questions I will answer them quickly!
You must flash in edl mode

Thanks for the post, unfortunately I am having troubles getting into EDL. With the program you just linked I get stuck at "< waiting for device >". I believe there could be some driver issues as I am getting 900E and not 9008.
you need a deep flash cable for that...
here you go,
http://en.miui.com/thread-310325-1-1.html
This one is a little bit tricky but quicker and less aggressive way.
http://en.miui.com/thread-380827-1-1.html
This one is easier but you will have to sacrifice one of your USB cable ( if you have an extra one lying around)
Personally first one worked for me well..
Hit thanks if this helped.
I have tried with the deep flash cable, no luck. The second link talks about browsing to the correct drivers.. where do I get these, what is he talking about?
follow this method , drivers must be installed properly

How do I start fresh? I've already got drivers that will interfere. As in, he says "Phone will be detected as QHUSB_BULK" where for me it's being detected already as the 900E one.
since you have installed a wrong rom package, you device name and status get changed. during flashing from mi flash choose to clean all. always use miflash beta

Okay I will remember that when I get to the point of flashing but I think that is still quite far away.

You can still try the "update driver" option...As after the driver installation windows refreshes the connection and if everything goes well..Your phone will be detected as 9008
You probably already know at this point, but if you don't, the notification LED on the device will flash red when you have successfully entered EDL mode.
You can try popping open the back cover(remember to eject the sim card tray) slowly(the fingerprint scanner is connected to the back), then unplug and replug the battery. It might help you boot to fastboot.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

The notification LED blinks red anytime that the phone is connected to the computer so it is hard to tell whether I am in EDL mode or not. My main problem right now is that I can't seem to get the Device Manager to say 9008 instead of 900E and therefore I cannot see it in MiFlash. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Xiaomi Redmi 3 Hardbricked?

Hi, so I have encountered a rather big issue with my xiaomi redmi 3 pro.
I believe I have flashed wrong (corrupted ? ) ROM, now I have a really annoying situation.
So, I flashed " ido_xhdpi_images_V7.2.6.0.LHPCNDB_20160129.0000.14_5.1_cn " in MiFlash, took a bit long time (nearly 15 minutes), afterwards it was completed, I disconnected my phone, and *BOOM* since then, black.
Current situation is this: When I connect my phone via USB, my phone gets recognized in device manager as
"Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM#)", also it gets recognized in MiFlash, but can't get it to work in fastboot, and it is not recognized as adb device. So, throughout 3 days now, I tried nearly EVERYTHING I have found on forums. The only thing I have not done is to take the back cover off and disconnect battery ( as I have seen on forums), tried with deep flash cable, all possible combinations of buttons and all. If the phone is connected to PC, when I press whatever combination of buttons on phone I just get Windows sound for connecting an USB device.
So today, when I connected it, red LED light was blinking, I have no idea what that was, so I plugged it into the wall to charge for 10mins, and now when I connect it, it's gone again, all black, no response whatsoever.
So, when I connect it to MiFlash and try to flash any ROM, tried nearly everyone I found, I get the same message; "Unspecified error 0x80004005; End Transfer packet id0, status 9" if I refresh MiFlash without disconnecting, and press flash again I get "Reached the end of the file. (0x80070026; Receiving hello packet) "
Things maybe to mention: I am running a 64 bit Windows 10, and my bootlocker is locked.
So I am wondering, if there is any possible way to solve this or it's time for a new phone?

if deep flash mated ( with deep flash cable) not work for you:
open your phone and disconnect your battery and flash your phone
Please help there is no flash button on flash tool even though the computer says the phone is connected Qualcomm 9008
If red notification light flashes, then you are already in EDL mode, and deep flash cable is nothing but the usb cable which has circuit breaker(switch) between green and white cable... jus buy a cheap data cable from market and peel it partially... now peel the green and white wire... ur deep flash cable is ready.. now insert the cable in pc and phone.. and join the green wire and white wire for 8 seconds... you are in EDL mode.
Hey bro i had faced the same issue that u are on. I had lost hope, but there is solution. There is a video on YouTube -
. This you can watch.
Now the procedure is very simple.
1. Remove the backpanel of your phone( don't worry nothing that serious)but do it carefully as the fingerprint wire is connected already so u should not tear it. Remove the fingerprint cable. Then remove the battery's frap type cable and reinsert it and reinsert the fingerpint one and close the panel. Similar to removing the battery and inserting it again.
2. According to that video, take the copper wire and insert it on the middle pins, very very carefully and insert it in the usb port of your computer. Mind it it might not work at the very first try, due to not applying the wire correctly but for sure it works, so take a small wire and not a bunch of wires and connect it with the port connected to your phone.
3. After inserting let your computer detect it and then remove the Usb cable. Remove the wire. And insert the cable again without wire. Now the port is unlocked and you can easily flash stock os through Mi flash application on pc.
It is super simple and don't panic. Hope you get your phone recovered???.
Don't work it can be fixed,dm me if you haven't already

Hi all,
my redmi note 3 pro suddenly stoped working. It restarted flashed Mi start up screen once and died.
Red notification is flashing when charging, fastboot dosen't work.
When connected to pc for the first time in device manager says qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 (com3)
if disconnected and connected again windows dosen't recognise it anymore.
It flashed the startup screen one more time and went dead again.
Never unlocked the bootloader or tried to flash anything.
Don't know the MIUI version, I supose it's the latest (OTA updated).
It is hard to find the right guide because all of them are old and en.miui.com links are dead .
Is it possible to save the data from the phone?

Battery life was getting worse lately, the phone wasn't reading battery levels well (empty battery would show 20% when pluged to the charger). I tried disconnecting the battery but didn't help.
Can I turn on the phone without battery?

I haven't tried turning on the phone without battery. I bought a new battery online for replacement, and then my phone turned on normally.
