Hi!
I'm facing a problem with WhatsApp in my RN3 for the past 2 months.
Once in a day to few days (no logical) the WhatsApp suddenly discconting and I cannot recieve or send messages!
No logical at all!
It fixxed only after a RESTART of the device and after than - BOOM! I recieve all of the messages.
I could not find the reason for that happening.
I'm asking that only after I found out that there is another RN3 useres that suffering from the same bug.
One more thing: I'm on MIUI 8 Global.
Please - your help would be apreciated!
Thanks!
Can you please elaborate your problem ? Can't understand much of it.
I cant find a way to add more details.
Cannot think on a reason scenario that cuase that problem.
From no where suddenly i get a strange feeling:
"How come i dont recieve any message for hours?"
Just dont recieve and send messages at all.
No reason...
I have 4g and Facebook or any other web site and App are working as usual.
Turning off and on the data does not solved it - ONLY restart.
Tnx.
Go to security app-permission- auto start - enable for whatsapp.
Yep - checked it already and everything is set right
Hey,
Still suffering from that issue and it this years it complertly not nice been able recieving&seding messages.
Without any reasson at all ; Withuot any reaction to anything =>> It just stopped working!
Somebodey heard about any bug readrding that issu?
I read from another 2 MI users that responded to my facebook post, that they facing with it too.
Maybe it something that got to MIUI?
Please - your help is needed.
Thanks!

There are two main things that are killing me atm...
1. If I send an email to myself on the gmail app I'll get duplicates instead of one... WHY IS THAT!?! i tried everything I can think of to stop it...
2. My phone all of a sudden started doing a audible notification when I do or don't have a network signal and it's driving me nuts... I looked everywhere in setting. I seem to remember a settings where you can shut off the notification sound off. As of now I have "notification sounds" off.
For reference I'm on 5.1.1 thanks for your help in advanced.

Can you provide screenshots it'd help me out.
Are you on stock?
Yes, stock. Not rooted.
I can take screen shots, but don't know how it will help. 2 has been sorta resolved since I left the sound off. I could've swarn i remember a setting before to toggle if you wanted an audible warning if you did or didn't have a mobile connection. The emails do it still but is more random than consistent. It will do it on wifi and mobile data. I think it has to do with sync though.

Well see if its the syncing. With a screenshot I can pinpoint the issue out right away.
That notification sound is an OS issue, while the duplicate mail issue is a Gmail issue, so I would try to maybe:
1. Clear Gmail data from Settings-> Gmail -> Clear data
2. Force a re-sync from Settings-> Accounts -> Google
3. Send yourself an email on the desktop site and see if it still happens. If it does it's a google service issue and not an app issue.
I found a fix. I'm getting a LG V10. Lol... Thanks for the help though anyways.

After restarting my phone the notifications will work properly for about an hour or so and then for no apparant reason they will stop.
Do u have any knowledge about de downloadable firmware/updates and how to use those?
cause i came across this on that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64535052&postcount=31

I did clean install of B370 two weeks ago and protected Whatsapp and some other applications in four places. During this period I never experienced notification issue with Whatsapp.

Same mate, restart works fine for hour or so then stops working! I am a IT technician so i can follow the updates and stuff I just didn't want to root or flash anything.
Thinking about downgrading back to Lollipop seem to work fine on that.

Please let me know when you have it (and i hope you will be willing to explain to me how to set it on my phone haha).
Ive downgraded to lollipop. its working fine at the moment, but i just miss some marshmallow features.
I have this same issue, even if I protect WhatsApp. Hope Huawei solves it soon.
I own a Verizon Galaxy s9+ and A galaxy tab s3. For the past few months I've noticed strange things going on with my phone and for at least 6 months on my tablet. Even factory resets don't solve this. I feel like I've googled everything to no avail. I started to think I was just crazy, until the other day I went to add a new account to my phone, an email account, and noticed something strange under accounts. I don't see any abnormal accounts under "accounts" in settings, but when I click "add account" there is a strange icon with no title next to it, like its hidden, and it has the green circle next to it like its been added, but I can't click or see what it is. Please help! I used to be super nosey on my bfs phone and now wondering if he's had something on mine for a while as well?? Thank you!!

Hi , I'm not sure but I think maybe some spy app is installed on your phone : / . Check if your phone has Official firmware .
To do that , follow this video instruction :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT0wTpJDw50
First time I see something like that ...

A factory reset will not help with many spying apps. Best you can do is send the device back unless have an unlocked bootloader. Then you can format all partitions and add apps back one by one.
To be honest. If something is like this is needed. Then move on. The relationship was already dead.
My WhatsApp web keeps telling my phone is not connected as soon as the phone screen goes black.
The second I press any button and the screen is activated, then my messages gets delivered and WhatsApp web start working again.
Any idea?
same here but its random somehow,
you can try put whatsapp in "never sleep" in setting
(i didnt try it yet)
same here. Had to wake up the screen, then WA web will connect again.

Add WhatsApp to never sleep and in app info of WhatsApp, battery, turn off optimize battery usage.

These settings were already like that (I think).
Is there anywhere else I should look at?

Did you also check in device care: battery, uncheck power saving mode
click background usage limits
add whatsapp to never sleeping apps.
Theres nothing else I did to get whatsapp to stay running.
Maybe reinstalling whatsapp might help. I've seen oddities fixed by that OR clearing data (which also resets the app to new).

Run backup to Google drive in WhatsApp and reinstall. I've seen bugs like that and modern software sucks so badly you'll never know why. Example Turbo tax 2020 is the current piece of crap that they know has an issue with windows 10 that they haven't fixed yet.
Hi, I solved this in the past but recenly I had to install again whatsapp on the same phone, and I can't remember how to do that. Also, I can't find anything in internet.
I have an annoying popup (I think it's called toast notification) that shows me an user come online. This doesn't happen often, but it does, and it does also when I?m not in whatsapp. For my privacy I don't want the people looking at my screen notify my contacts, how can I remove it?
It is something like that:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
Found it ? Normally you can adjust this completely in the settings of the app.
Settings on stock ROM's and custom ROM's can differ a lot.
And ... always look to the version of the WhatsApp app ... there are very ofter updates.
Installation is usually via Google Play, although not necessary.
Hi, thanks for answer, I?m using the same version I had before, after reinstalling I got them. As I wrote this problem was present in the past, but somehow I've found where to disable them/somebody somewhere suggested me or I've read it, I can't find more such information.
It can be inside Whatsapp settings, it can be on anroid permission fot this app, I can't find it! I've searched anywhere. I would love to never receive toast notifications in amy app, not interesting for me, these is a way to disable them at all?
It's a pity whatsapp wasting my phone battery comunicating always with the server telling me who is online, I don't get a f* about that, and also I hate somebody follow me if I'm online or not! Killing my privacy!
I have whatsapp plus and I've selected "tell others I'm always online" I hope it works
No ideas where I can find this toast notification?

Your problem interested us here....there are not that many people who still use Whatsapp Plus.
There's a reason.
The Google playstore banned it from its repository. They could no longer guarantee the safety of the app. (No wonder that you could not install it from Play Store.)
I can't say whether your problem stems from this, but you might ask yourself what the
advantages of Plus are and whether they outweigh the disadvantages.
Why not just use the latest official Whatsapp ? This has already been improved a lot
and these improvements are being worked on daily.
Greetings and take care ....
thank you a lot for your support, I appreciate. As I wrote it was working good, then I had to put out my simcard to another phone and activate whatsapp there, when I've placed it back I needed to reinstall whatsapp and it misses now that setting. I was able to suppress it in the past, but I don't remember how. There shoulld be a way..
I need this to check the removed messages, and to filter my privacy only to the right persons. Whatsapp doesn't help about that, so I'll keep on this
