Hi everyone,
Skype for Android is a very piece of sh#t in my experience.
Phone freeze, heavy and slow.
Someone can tell me a valid alternative? An app that I can use with Microsoft account?
Hi
Try Wync.

I wonder if there are IM applications working on Streak.
I am mostly interested in Live Messenger and Google Talk.
Are there any native applications for these networks ?
If not, what are the suggested apps for both IM networks.
I'd prefer to use apps which are officially supported by either the IM network or Dell.
Thanks.
there's tons that work, doubt any are supports or endorsed though.
Personally I settled on nimbus as it does all the networks I use..
well, thanks. But isn't there even any google talk client ?
As Android is google's OS, I'd think we should have Gtalk natively.
And I dislike all-in-one IM clients.

yes there is gtalk..
it should be built in..
have a look through the marketplace to find what you need.
FRING
Use Fring, this provides both MSN and Gtalk and many more. It also offers free video talks for Fring users.
thanks forthe fring suggestion.
but does it route all IMs through their own server ?
if yes, I don't want that.
I personally use meebo as I haven't had much trouble with it at all. It supports multi client too such as msn, yahoo and aim. I have also used fring it was great as I can video call using skype but now since skype removed there service from fring I haven't used it.

but really, for fring and meebo, can you say that they directly send IM to the original network and not route them over their own proxy ?
Google talk is installed as default

Hi There,
Why is it still not possible to have video calls with MSN contacts on android? I know there are possibilities like Skype which I like but most of my contacts are using Windows Live Messenger on their PC.
I read somewhere that this is due to a restriction by Microsoft. If this is true, isn't it possible for the great devs here to develop a workaround? This is the only feature I am really missing on android.
Thanks for your answers
Video chat on live messenger
I am really looking for this too, but to no avail. Skype works perfectly, why not Windows live messenger, with so many great developers in here(no sarcasme intended) there must be a workaround. Allthough i'm using a SGN it should be the same app.
I don wanna use chunky BB just because my boss uses BBM.

Is there any chance that BBM will come to Android OS?
dude, whatsapp is better but you must wait when you will the Black berry Messenger it's not out know i've googled it ^^
guys I know, whatsapp is better. even chaton is better.
but the boss just sticks to bbm, so if bbm will come to android, i won't have to buy a BB (actually my company buys) otherwise I will have to carry 2 phones thats why I'm asking.
you can try ChatOn. it can be usig iphone, blackberry, bada, android and web.
WhatsApp can be used on all platforms aswell
having to use BB just for the BBM most be frustrating. Explain him that there are other messaging services that are better.
It's all to do with critical mass, that's why people are using Facebook.
We now have a choice of a few good push Over The Top (OTT) instant messaging services now.
1. Beep from IM+ - I personally like their app on Android.
2. WhatsApp
3. eBuddy XMS by eBuddy
4. Nimbuzz
I don't have any strong affinity with any of them, however I ended up convincing a friend to use WhatsApp on their BlackBerry, because I have few other friends on it, just to avoid the hassle of checking three different services.
I don't see why Google, Yahoo! or Microsoft don't turn on push, which will level the playing field.
It's very tiring being online everywhere.

It's because his bos enjoy using cheap Blackberry provider service like here in my country
I have same issue too, its hard to push my friends use whatsapp because there no cell provider package for whatsapp like BBM.
Hey folks!
I wonder if there are any alternative clients for WhatsApp that care a bit more about privacy or if there is a way to prevent the official client from uploading all your contacts rto their servers?
[offtopic] use telegram [/offtopic]
Yeah, looks nice, but I need something that's compatible with WhatsApp because all my friends are on WA and won't switch to another messenger.
So do I get that right, there are no alternatives to the official client??
Your right as long as you use WA then you are stuck.

OK, thx anyway folks!
Hey guys,
at the moment i'm rebuilding my Moto G4 Plus. It's running Lineage OS and now i only want to install apps, which are open source and without any mal-/spyware.
My only big problem is, that my employer is forcing me into using whatsapp for groupchats. At the moment there is no possibility for me to change this situation, even if its not legal, what he is doing.
On my old phone i was running (until now) whatsapp with an online voip phonenumber. I don't wanted my private contacts contacting me over whatsapp, so there is this one voip number, only for the company.
Is there currently any possibility using an alternative client, running whatsapp in a virtual machine etc., anything which protects my privacy and the android system from the whatsapp app, but lets me use whatsapp groupchats?
Very thanks in advance!
