Hi, I have the S7 since above 6 months, everything was perfect until one day it made a sound like brrrrrr and frezzed after some seconds it restarted, some time later again, some times with the noise and other times without it. Every time it restart its less the time it is running and if I don't turn off it, It turn on unthe SAMSUNG logo and restarts again and again.
I tried to solve this problem using SAMSUNG SWITCH, but it doen't solve it, so I downloaded some stock roms from sam mobile and tried them but none one of them funtioned, so a root my phone and I install a german rom herolte and it runs, but some It's still restarting some minutes after turn on, after that if i let the phone turnned off some hours when I turn on it funtions for more time.
I the app twrp, and bussy box and I'm trying to instal de recovery since twrp, but everytime it restarts before download ends.
I´m not sure about how to use twrp to repair my phone, but I want to try it or if you have another suggestion.
My phone doesn't have warranty, because the knox says void warranty 1 (0X0500).
I took my phone for a service center, but they could'nt repair it. So I don't know if there is a way to repair it or if I losse my phone for ever.
I can't give you all the phone especifications because I can't turn on to be able to see them.
I hope you to be able to understand my English, I'm a mexican girl.
Thank you.

Hi guys!
I was trying to flash froyo on my galaxy s with odin (original ROM eclair 2.1, bought the phone 2 weeks ago). To do so I got it into download mode via "adb reboot download" cause buttons combinations dont work on my phone. I checked the Re-partition in Odin, set PIT, PDA, PHONE and CSC, pressed start and Odin got stuck at "DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET" (after it did "file analisys.." and "set pit.."). After 15 minutes nothing happened, computer and phone weren't doing anything it seemed, so I turned the phone off.
I tried to boot but all I could get is the image of a phone and a computer on the screen. I tried pulling out the battery and get it into recovery and download mode with buttons combination but it doesn't work. Odis and adb won't find it if I plug it into the usb.
I believe there must be a way to flash the original ROM back!! I have a backup done with ROM Manager (ClockworkMod), and I have SDK & JDK installed on computer if that could be useful (I know nothing about them though). Anybody can help? Anything guys, I really appreciate and I thank you very much!

I had this. Odin got part of the way there and then froze. You have to get into Download mode. You can do this by holding Volume Up (down if that doesn't work) and home key (keep holding), and then holding down power for 7 seconds for a forced reset. Let go of power as soon as the screen goes blank and it should start directly into Download mode.
Make sure you have Odin v1.3 and try to reinstall 2.1 or 2.2. It worked for me after that.
i have the same problem plaese help ???
Hi i tried to install the original firmware with odin,...
all went well but when it tried to reboot it got bootloop and now it wont connect to pc to retry, it says the usb has malfuntioned and i cant do anything, can anyone plz help?
if your odin process got success (was write on windows at the end of installation) u can bring to Samsung the phone coz seems its hardware problem.
Maybe are 2 different unrelated problem.
Btw now u have an original stock firmware (i repeat if odin was working properly) and u can use Samsung Warranty W/o Problem.
good luck mate.
It's almost impossible to brick this device... so... TAKE THE BATTERY OFF YOUR PHONE!
Wait 15 seconds
put it back in...
Hit: VOLUME DOWN + SELECT BUTTON + POWER BUTTON FOR A BIT UNTIL YOU SEE SAMSUNG GALAXY S2!
BAM!
You are in download mode!
Use Odin!
unless you used a pit file you should be fine just make sure you have only selected:
AUTO REBOOT + F.RESET TIME!
Flash original firmware in PDA and all will work ok
Hey,
I decided last night I would try and backup my phone, however Kies thought it would be fun to start updating, and somehow it locked up. Now I get a message on my phone that says :-
Firmware Upgrade Encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
Now I have done what it says however everytime i connect it up i get a message saying "USB Device Not Recognised"
I have downloaded the drivers, with no such luck, and tried installing them via Kies again with no joy. Reading on the forum I found out about the recovery mode which I have manage to get the phone into and downloaded what I thought was the right thing but it's not working at all.
I think what Ideally i need is a way to get the phone back to a working version, I just have no idea how to do it. I have downloaded Odin as that seems to be a program that every page says.
Not sure if you need the information but it was on 3G UK network.
Sorry this probably sounds extremely noob like but I've spent 10 hours on it already and am confused beyond imagination
Kies is one of them horrible programs that just doesnt work properly.
as you have read about Odin, i will assume you know you can use this to flash a stock firmware to your phone.
Have a look for intratechs thread of offical firmwares (linked below), download one for your phone and flash it via odin.
Please read the top information in his thread it tells you what to do and how to do it.

How do i resolve the other issue of windows not recognizing it ?
put the phone in download mode and pc should recognize the phone
If we're talking about a phone running stock firmware that you've never mucked around with (rooted it, run non-stock firmware on it, etc, etc), send it in to Samsung/whomever you bought it from for warranty service.'
If you start flashing things in order to try & fix it, you run the slight risk you might brick it/void your warranty. Which means you end up paying to get it fixed.
I wouldn't tempt fate if I were in your situation.
If we're talking about a phone you've been mucking around with (like most of us here ), then go to Samfirmware.com & search for the original firmware that came with your phone & flash it following whatever instructions they have for flashing firmware downloaded from their site.
Alternatively, if you're happy with the latest firmware available for your phone model/carrier/country, find/download the PC version of Checkfus (search for it on here/Google). This will allow you to download a tarball of the latest available firmware for your carrier/country, which you can flash according to the instructions here.
Also, before you do anything, try a factory reset if you haven't already.
1.Find your new firmware version and download the file from the links
2.Extract the file, so that you now have a .tar file.
3.Download and run the Odin software from the provided link (200KB)
4.Reboot the phone to download mode
To do this, turn the phone off, then simultaneously press the volume down key, the home button and then press the power button. If you see a warning, press the volume up button to continue.
5.In Odin, click the button named “PDA” and select your .tar file (your rom).
If the rom has several files, also put in the PDA, Phone/Modem and CSC files. but do NOT put in a .pit file.
6.Connect the phone to the computer with usb cable, and wait till ID:COM turns yellow.
7.Click the “Start” button, and Odin will flash your rom.
As simple as that.
I have the files however CANNOT get windows to detect the phone....it simply refuses every single time.
All i get is USB Device Not Recognised
Which i get after holding down, Power, Vol Down and Menu till i get the download screen. Occassionally (VERY RARELY) it has been detected by odin then fails on factory

Are you plugged directly into a port on the PC, and not through a keyboard pass-through port, or a USB hub? Or have you tried a different cable?
Ok guys,
I have got it to the point it is able to flash now. Problem is I have some dodgy yellow ! and it wont go any further than that.
How do I get rid of that and get back to bog standard everything, I have used CheckFus and downloaded the firmware but it wont get rid of the !

Gonna need a little more detail than that. Yellow triangle at boot under where it says "Samsung Galaxy SII"? It's not really clear.

Hi, I have a samsung galaxy s2 that I bought off kijiji. It is white and was originally from bell. I unlocked it and the phone worked great for 2 weeks I could charge it pull the battery out and put my koodo sim card and it worked. One night I went to sleep and woke up and it was dead. So I went to go charge it and it didn't charge or want to turn on... So I went to go buy a new battery that was already fully charged and I put it in the phone and it worked, it turned on and everything worked. Then it died again as I was at school and it wont charge or turn on again! So I gave both batterys to a friend who has the same phone to charge and then I tryed it in my phone again and it wont turn on. I made a youtube video of my problem so this my explain it a little better also. Here is my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=184adlrU9eQ&list=UUGtRGDv9GcPPEZS3_oLB8UQ&index=1&feature=plcp

Can you get to download mode? Hold volume down home and power on button. If you can go to www.sammobile.com and download a stock firmware and flash through Odin

Do you know if the phone is still on the guarantee? It most-likely is so you should bring it to Samsung ASAP and they will probably give you a refurbished one. The only problem is if you used a code to unlock the device, you'll pretty much lose it. Don't bring it to Bell, they won't give a damn because they're not your provider.

Bottom line is, if you haven't rooted the phone or run non-stock firmware on it, don't risk doing that now to try and fix it. If it borks, you'll end up voiding your warranty.
Send it into Samsung/an authorised repairer & have it repaired under warranty is my advice (contact Samsung in your country to get details of repairer).
Now, if you have rooted the phone/run non-stock firmware on it, and you can get into download mode then you can still fix it. If you can't get into download mode tho, there's no chance of you fixing it so don't even attempt to. Send it to a service centre & hope they don't notice you've been messing with it.
I cannot get into download mode.
No download mode, no recovery & phone won't boot = service centre/Samsung authorised repairer & hope they can't tell you used a bit of dodgy software to try & unlock the phone & borked it in the process.
I guess you could try a jig & see if that gets you into download mode as well.
This problem just happened to me... I did the soft reset mentioned in other forums and did not work... so I took the battery, sim card, and SD card out and put the battery cover back on, left alone for 1hour... tried soft reset again and worked.
Soft reset: Battery out, press ON button for 10 secs, put battery back on, turn on.
As I said yesterday I had problems turning on the phone and managed to turn it on by performing a soft reset... now the problem is that I usually turn it off every night and this morning it happened again, the phone won't turn on... did the same soft reset and there it went again but I am now scared of turning it off and never be able to turn it on again... Can someone suggest what the problem may be? would be a hardware problem? Or should it be a ROM/Kernel/Recovery problem?
Its hardware. I had this issue and it killed two batteries (mine drains battery and kills it, single use battery...) gave to Samsung and was fixed with motherboard and LCD change.
My Gf's Galaxy 2 wont torn on just keeps vibrating. Does like it going to turn on but it inmediately shut itself off. Please i need a solution!!
Sounds like a battery problem... get a new battery
It's not the battery

I have had same issue. I got a new battery and it still buzzes, doesn't charge and doesn't boot. It is probably a hardware problem.
i hope help
This happened to my phone and it really is a simple fix. First take the battery out of the phone for about 10 seconds. Then with the battery out plug the phone up, wait a few seconds, and put the battery in and immediately press power. Should be as good as new.
OR just plug in the phone when it's off and then power off

Same problem after having the phone on the shelf for a while
I guys..
Samsung Galaxy Sii GT9100-P
Not Rooted
Unlocked by using an unlock code (when adding an unrecognised sim) Was on Orange, unlocked it with a Voda sim in it.
upgraded the firmwareusing Samsung Kies last June.
then I got an S3 and put this on the shelf.
I have 3 Batteries for the S2 and charged them all with my desktop battery charger.
the phone will not power on if:-
Battery Out and on Cable with PC
Battery In connected to PC or Mains
Will not go into download mode
any battery charged and no cable.
I shelved this perfectly working and kept is as a "spare" phone.
now the time has come to use it.
anyone any ideas?
I know it is out of warranty, so I guess a chargeable fix will be required!
but I cant beleive a fully working S2 would due after being left on a shelf!
Thanks in Advance Guys!
Oh..
PC has been rebuilt since the Samsung Kies update, so I dont have the emergency or backup files to work with.
Cheers,
I have a standard unlocked UK SGS2.
It has been running ICS since its official Samsung update, and for the past week or so has been displaying a "firmware update available" message.
Today I tried to run the update via Kies. The update hung with the SGS2 displaying the "downloading - do not disconnect target" screen. Eventually, Kies displayed a message that the download had failed, and the phone should be disconnected and rebooted.
Rebooting the phone has given the "handset-exclamation mark - PC" screen.
I have so far tried:
a) following Kies instructions to the letter;
b) switching USB ports on the PC (running Win 7 pro 64);
c) trying the "hold volume up&down + on/off buttons; at second flash release power button", etc;
Nothing has worked and the phone appears bricked.
How can I resolve this. It must be a common problem, given the millions of these handsets out there. Unfortunately i am currently overseas and in the middle of a desert - so not able to go to a Samsung service centre to get help!
Download UK unbranded firmware from here <http://www.hotfile.com/dl/153177481/9861a3a/I9100XWLP7_I9100XEULP5_XEU.zip.html>. Extract using Winzip. You will get a Tar.md5 file.
Download Odin from here <http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=725858&d=1316556218>
Completely shutdown Kies via the Task Manager.
Completely Shut Down Phone. Now hold volume down+home+power buttons, You should see a warning asking you to press volume up if you want to continue or volume down to cancel, press volume up. You are now in download mode
Connect your phone to your pc via cable. Fire up Odin. The box below ID:COM will be yellow.
Click on PDA and select the .tar.md5 file extracted in first step.
Click Start. Let Finish. Do not disconnect wire until you see 'Pass'.
If phone bootloops, shut down phone. Now hold volume Up+Home+Power buttons. Do a Factory Reset. Restart.
Let know if this works.
Go to samsung and tell them what happened and they should fix it under warranty

If I helped you press thanks!
I knew the kies is not the proper way to update the latest firmware and always giving a problem! When the downloading firmware on kies are almost finish there is always an error such as " hang" or " internet disconnected " ! The smarter way is to use odin3 :good:
Its not a major issue, this isnt a brick, its a softbrick, big difference, just means ya flash failed, could be a million reasons for that,
AS DESCRIBED above, this is a simple fix by downloading and flashing the appropriate stock firmware for your phone via odin again in download mode.
your phone will go to download mode so dont worry about that, if it hasnt gone to dl mode when attempted, pull the battery, leave it out 10 mins, put it back in and try again, failing that a usb jig will suffice, see post on who and where will share their jig if you dont have one, there may be someone near you.
CAUTION, dont try flashing any of the latest leaks on your phone, just choose whatever the last stock release was by your carrier on samfirmware, and flash that as that will be your latest firmware.
I never use kies to update, simply use ota, or download the rom and flash it, kies is very unreliable, this is where HTC and SE beat samsung, the download and recovery methods are so much simpler and they work.
