Hello,
Today I tried to Root my V10 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/root-h960a-tot-add-systemrooted-t3337706
and now it gets stuck while booting. Is there a way to reflash the Original Firmware? (and keep my files)
I tried the "update error Recovery"-Feature in LG Bridge but the download goes really slow and I don't know if it can help me at all.
I hope someone can help me here

Hi,
you should try to flash the appropriate KDZ file with LGUP. There is also the possibility to upgrade the phone and keep the data. You'll find the KDZ file and the link to LGUP (including description how to flash) in the first post of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/kdz-download-lollipop-kdz-10c-lg-servers-t3332348.
Make sure you select the correct KDZ file depending on the version of your phone (H960A for Europe or Middle East).

This post may be helpful for:
1. People that are trying to downgrade from firmware they flashed.
2. People who accidentally flashed wrong firmware and now they want to flash the correct one.
3. People who generally want to flash a firmware using the KDZ Updater,
AND
Cannot do the things above because the KDZ Update tool shows the "Error 1002" or the update tool stops at 4%.
P.S. 1: I have tried that on Optimus L5 and L9 when I had same problem and it works. Some users also told me it works on L7 too.
P.S. 2: I don't know if it will work for EVERY phone, I'm just saying it worked on mine. Maybe I'm lucky! But if you tried everything and nothing worked, maybe you could also give this a try.
P.S. 3. YOU MUST HAVE A WORKING FIRMWARE(a firmware that can get installed-doesn't matter if it's the right one).
Solution
First time I did this was with an Optimus L5 - E615.
In my case, there was only one firmware that worked and got installed with the KDZ Updater tool.(The v20b-for L5 E610 - Europe) which was not for my model and I flashed accidentally. Nothing else worked, no matter which firmwares (From LG site) i tried, compatible or not.
I only managed to fix that when I downloaded the firmware i wanted to install, and "tricked" the PC into, thinking that it installed the 20b.
I don't know if that issue happened only to me only, but IF someone has the same problem another time, it will maybe work for him too. Or maybe it will be possible solution to everyone flashing a wrong Firmware..!
The thing is , I noticed that the KDZ Updater, everytime it wanted to install a KDZ, it extracted it as a .DZ file at the "LGMOBILEAX" folder located in C/appdata folder.
In L9 it's .WDB instead of .DZ files. So I'm changing it to WDB for the solution
To fix the "Lparam 1002 Error"(Stop on 4% of update tool or crash error in KDZ updater ) do the following steps:
1. Install correct drivers from LG mobile tool to be sure my phone was recognized.
2. Move battery out(Optional, by I prefer it if it's possible).
3. Enter Emergency Download Mode(By pressing the Volume-Down button while connecting the phone with the PC).
4. Extract the -workingfirmware.kdz and the firmwareyouwant.kdz with the Rom Converter Tool made by jes0411 (Original Post HERE), and rename the extracted firmwareyouwant.wdb same as workingfirmware.wdb
5. Start the KDZ update, choosing the workingfirmware.kdz, and when the workingfirmware.wdb file is extracted, replace it immediately with the (now renamed as "workingfirmware.dz") firmwareyouwant.dz
EDIT: If you are too scared of replacing files during the procedure, just wait until the update stops and asks you to restart. You can replace them then.
Wierd issue from LG, but it worked for me!
Cheers.
Thank You!! It works!
I can confim it works with LG L7 (P700/P705) too.
L9 does not have any file extracted with e610v20.dz name or any file with .DZ extension. Are you sure this is somewhere related to L9 by any chance?

Check P.S.1 and what I wrote below mate
Every LG firmware (.kdz files) is extracted as a .dz file during Firmware installation via LG update tool or KDZ updater.
About the e615 files, it's because I had this issue on a friend's L5-E615, but I'm also posting here because I've tested this on L9 too and it's working if you have this issue. From pms and posts I got, it seems that this works on most lg devices(L3,L5,L7,L9). I just posted here because I own a P760.. I'm just trying to contribute to the L9 community..!
EDIT: Cmahendra was right, the file extensions in L9 is .wdb. My bad, nevertheless the solution is the same...!
Cheers,

Hey there,
I've gone and done a stupid thing and flashed my LG G3 (D850) with a custom ROM without checking my sources. The ending result is I'm stuck with a phone that only goes into Download mode or Fastboot mode now normally this would not be a problem; as I would just use the LG Flashtool to flash the stock TOT. Now I have the right files (DLL and TOT) for my model but when I flashed the phone the first time it erased the model number info on the phone. Is there a way to rewrite it or recover it? If you guys have any advice on how to continue from this point I would be very grateful Included are the pictures from the LG Flashtool.
Thanks in advance,

Update!: I got it working with the Model info bypass DLL (LGUP_8974.DLL) Just remember to switch the Lg FlashTool from "Update DL" to "Board DL"

Good to know. I had the same problem with trying to flash the TOT to my G3, but I was still able to access recover, so I just wiped all the partitions from there and then I was able to flash it just fine. What I had done before was try to flash a ROM ported from another G3 variant which claimed to work with mine... it didn't.
Hello Verizon V10 Community,
I was able to locate the full KDZ file for the Verizon V10 software version 11B, the latest available for the VS990. I personally have the V10 and it's already on 11B but I have a friend who just received his V10 in the mail today and it had 10B on it so I plugged his into my computer and the Verizon Upgrade Assistant downloaded the 11B KDZ. I have saved it, uploaded it and am making it available anyone who may need it.
You can download it from Android File Host here in a RAR archive: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911975083
Alternatively, you can download it directly from LG's servers here: http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW25NOE3325BACQF4BA4K6T/VS99011B_04_ARB00.kdz
MD5 of KDZ file when downloaded from AFH (NOT the rar file): 7f971f72b81945ad1f06df56300b6bae
You will need to use LGUP to flash this KDZ, which you can download from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297690. After you have installed LGUP, you will need to extract the 'common' folder from the LGUP rar archive and put it in: C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model. (See attached screenshot) This 'common' folder contains the DLL file that is needed for LGUP to recognize the Verizon variant of the V10. There are other downloads of LGUP in other forums here in XDA which contain other installers in addition to the LGUP installer. The other installers install DLL files for other variants of the V10 which are not needed for the Verizon variant. The DLL I've included in the 'common' folder is all you need for our Verizon variant.
Enjoy

The KDZ by itself is 2.2 GB. I'll have the link ready later today as my FTP upload to AFH that I had running this morning failed and I have to start over. :-\
Thank you brother downloading now.

I've not yet tried flashing this KDZ but I'm going to assume we can use the LGFlashTool to flash this as the cool new LGUP program that has appeared recently in the G4 forums does not work with the V10. I tried it and the program won't even open when my V10 is attached to my computer. I'm guessing it needs a DLL file installed to work. If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know.
I assure you this is not a fake. This is a genuine KDZ file downloaded directly from Verizon Upgrade Assistant. If anyone here decides to flash it, please let me know what program you used and the outcome of the process.

Same process I posted back in Jan about getting the .KDZ and the post to go along with it. I was unable to get the .KDZ file to flash to the phone. The version also had much userdata included in the file which is why I never released the file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64828296
This thread claims to have the .KDZ file directly from the LG site.

Did you use the older LGFlashTool when you tried?

I'm not sure what version I tried but I had many different versions of the software but didn't want to run into a bricked phone and didn't have much time to spend on trying and failing with personal things going on.
LGUP isn't recognizing the KDZ file. It sees the TOT however. Any way to fix this?
EDIT: Just had to choose the Update radial instead of Refurbish.
I believe upgrade is tot only and refurbish is kdz and tot. Or vice versa.
We just got our upgrade to marshmallow is going to be possible to obtain root for it?

Just going to throw this out there. No matter what KDZ file I download, I can't get passed the Google Account setup. There's data on that file that prevents the phone from going forward and constantly loops back to the beginning of entering the Google Account previously associated with the phone before the factory reset.

Hi guys, I'm James and I live in mexico. I'm Argentinean. A month ago I bought the LG V10 and then use it normally, one day I restarted the phone all the time and now stays at the logo screen. I know it is operational, the software system. But I took my phone to a technician famous city where I live repair and told me not found support for the cellular putting on new software. You think you can help me? Please . If necessary I will do it myself. What I find something silly and illogical is that he has not found support for the LG V10. Sorry for my English if there are errors. Thank you.
This post works to solve my problem with the LG 10 VERIZON?

This process solves my problem? I have a lg v10 vs990w and restarts all the time. It is software or hardware? I can fix it? please help!
Hello all,
In the process of rooting the phone and flashing careless i managed to flash a H901 ROM on a H960 phone. After noticing the horrible mistake i tried to get back to H960 using several methods but to no avail. Here's a list of what i tried so far, followed by what i think i can try next.
1. Tried getting back to stock using this tutorial. LGUP detects my phone as H901 and won't let me flash H960 kdz saying "KDZ file is invalid".
2. Tried using a hex editor on the KDZ file to change any H960 to H901 thinking it might trick LGUP into thinking it is flashing the correct thing. Didn't work either.
3. Tried flashing KDZ file with LG Flash Tool but it says it can't connect to server and stops.
4. Tried updating it with LG Bridge but that also failed (can't remeber the exact error message, but it wasn't anything specific, just something ambiguous about not being able and how i can try to reconnect the phone)
Now, the good parts:
- i still have access to download mode
- have TWRP installed and working
What i think would work is to get a flashable H960A .zip file so that LGUP will see it as it is. Another idea i thought about is to ask any of you who is willing to help me out with a TWRP backup from a H960 model.
If you guys have any other ideas, i'm willing to follow your instructions.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my mess.
Same problem here, really hoping to get it fixed too
Hex editing will work. Can you ss on how you edit it?
@devcon69 Sure, here: https://imgur.com/a/m5dMg are 2 examples of versions i modified in hex(from H960 to H901) all instances of H960 i found were replaced.
Hi all, i finally managed to undo the damage by editing the hex data on a different KDZ file. Either the first time i tried was on a wrong file or i did it incorrectly. The file i edited now is THIS one. I will edit the post with the modified file for H901 in case anyone else needs it.
Thank you all for the help and attention offered

Hi.i get Error: Error Code= 0x81300302, MD5 checksum error when i try with u hex editored file. Maybe i have to try to download u file again and try ?
Sorry my foult. Its okay now
Could you enlighten us as to the steps you took that accidentally loaded a H901 firmware onto a H960A device?
Loading H901 firmware onto other V10 devices has been suggested as a potential method for unlocking the bootloader of other devices. This seems risky, but I'd very much like to hear reports of success/failure.
Did your H960A have an unlocked bootloader prior to accidentally installing the H901 firmware?
Hi
Can u make a simple tutorial to how we can change the model in the tot file and what app u use to install the firmware?
i have H961N (Dual SIM) and need to install rooted MM but my model still not rooted, just lollipop, so need to install H960a or any other model has a rooted MM.
Thanks in advance.
What you've typed worries me. There are 3 spots in the file that you modified and changing the third could well cause oddities. I would suggest you try running the command `adb shell getprop ro.lge.factoryversion`.
What is the output of that command? If it is a string that begins "LGH960" then my concern isn't an issue. If it is a string that begins "LGH901" then you've still got a problem.
For folks who wish to get this done by computer, try the "chkdzdev" tool from my LGEtools. This is simply a tool to modify the fields mentioned and should make it possible to accomplish this task without a binary editor.
Hello everyone, I have an LG Tribute HD that fails to flash with LGUP. The firmware it has according to the PC is ZV5, however, the firmware shown when on is ZVB (the system is glitchy most likely because of the mismatch, which is why I am trying to flash it back).
Phone shows up perfectly in Device Manager. Ixhave attempted to switch ports, I've tried almost everything I could think of. Here's the issue: each time I attempt to flash with LGUP (using UPPERCUT since this is one of those devices that do not get properly detected) I get "Error: 0xD, not support diagEnable for laf mode". If I attempt to flash with the latest version of LGUP (1.14 I believe) I get an error stating something about "image is corrupted," as if the .tot file is corrupted (none of them are). Unfortunately it appears there are no .kdz firmware files for this device, so I cannot use other methods of flashing.
Can this be related to the firmware mismatch? I know wiping the system can at times fix this, but there is no way to wipe the system without fastboot (which this and other LG devices seem to lack).
I was debating whether to post this on another LG device's thread, but dedided to post it where it belongs. I don't expect to get an answer as I am well aware that this is a device of no importance, but any help attempt would be truly appreciated.
RIP. There isn't any info on this error.
