FireTV Stick (montoya) Prerooted Stock Images [5.2.7.3_r1] - Fire TV Android Development

Here are prerooted stock images for use with my recovery. Note that these contain addon.d support, so any 3rd party things you install to /system need an addon.d script to be retained between flashes.
I STRONGLY recommend that you completely wipe if you had Kingroot installed. This can be accomplished in TWRP by going to Wipe and selecting Format Data. This will blow away everything on it, including whatever garbage Kingroot left behind.
And as always, make sure you DISABLE UPDATES.

It will erase EVERYTHING in /data. But once TWRP is installed and you are running wipe in it, you don't need that file anymore.

Is there a way of debloating all amazon stuff? any recommended launcher besides firestarter?

This is awesome news! Now I just have to find a way to root my 5.2.11 sticks ..

Awesome work.
As @Antieco asked above, I'd really like a debloated rom too to speed the stick up and I'd like to reinstall Firestarted 3.2.3 as it was perfect for my needs using 5.0.5 rom. Are both of the tasks possible?
Again thanks a lot to rbox fot his amazing work.

I highly doubt "debloating" would accomplish anything, but yes it's possible.

elsewhere (cant remember where) on the forum I found this link
https://github.com/esc0rtd3w/firestick-loader/tree/master/scripts/debloat.
I used it to disable some service but I've never pushed myself to launch the whole debloat script (be careful if anyone decides to try this because in the bloat-enable script it reenables the ota service too).

Rbox will there be a chance of a prerooted image for a lower fireware please? i know you have one for v5.2.1.0 but i want to continue using the mousetoggle app & also the old firestarter app too, i believe i wont be able to use these after using the prerooted image for 5.2.1.0? Or will there be a mod i can use to enable adb & block the fire tv from calling the adb just for the Amazon apps/favorites quicktoggle when you press or hold the home button? I know it probably sounds like alot but im sure im not the only one asking or thinking about this question?
(By the way i left the same message over at AFTVNews but thought id get a better answer in your thread)
Thanks in advance

Yeah, I sometimes read AFTVNews, but I rarely respond. As for old versions, yeah, that's not a problem. I can generate any version. What do you want?

IMHO, not scientifically proven disabling some Amazon packages and especially their home launcher with your rbox module helps a lot with the limited resources available on the AFTVS1. The list of packages I have disabled is in this post which also includes a very good reason to switch to a proper pre-rooted ROM.
@rbox is there any word on whether rbox Xposed module works on 5.2.1.1? Or if you have an idea which DB holds the info on the default launcher in FireOS? I just want to hit home and have Fire starter/stopper launch instead.

I updated the OP with 5.0.5

I've successfully installed TWRP and 5.0.5, then upgraded to 5.2.1.1 just to make sure it would work. Everything went great. I'm going to try installing Xposed and your module tomorrow.
If you're taking ROM requests, would it be possible to have a rooted 54.1.2.3_user_123067020? From what I can tell by reading AFTVnews, it's the last version of Fire OS that's not lollipop. Your module worked perfectly on Fire OS 3, so I'd like to use that if I could. With the limited way I use this stick I don't need much more than Kodi and Xposed.
Thanks for all you do, rbox. We're really lucky to have you.

I was about to ask for the prerooted 5.0.5 version for the same identical reasons @deanr1977 asked and I'm grateful rbox listened. Thanks a lot.

Pure Factory Images [Monthly Updates]

Project on hold for a moment - my phone didn't like what I built. Going to fix it, then re-open.
So, I got tired of needing my PC to update my phone every month just because I'm rooted. So I used SuperR's Kitchen and took the stock images from Google and made them into flashable zips. These are flashable in TWRP. They are rooted and includes the vendor partition. If enough people request it, I will cook some non-root versions. I plan to add flashable bootloader and radios as well (TBD). I will try to get N zips up and going tonight.
The intention is to keep this up to date every month (until I get a new phone, not likely within the next year or two).
Advice, guidance, and requests are welcome. Doesn't mean I'll follow or fulfill them.
Directions for upgrading from a previous version:
Custom recovery (TWRP) required
Boot into recovery
Flash AOSP-[version]-angler-[build]-bootloader-signed.zip
Flash AOSP-[version]-angler-[build]-radio-signed.zip
Flash AOSP-[version]-angler-[build]-[date]-kernel-signed.zip
Flash AOSP-[version]-Rooted-angler-xxxxxx-[date].zip
OPTIONAL: Flash AOSP-[version]-angler-[build]-recovery-signed.zip (This will replace your custom recovery with the Stock recovery)
Flash any other packages you may want (such as Xposed)
Wipe cache/dalvik
Reboot
Your phone may reboot a time or two during the first boot (mine did). I am the only one that has tested this thus far. Use at your own risk. I am not responsible if this bricks your phone, kills your cat, or your house gets foreclosed on.
If you don't know how to fastboot flash the stock images, you probably should not flash these (just in case).

great contribution for the community! Can't wait for the N zips and more goodies. What version of superSU are they rooted with? The newest 2.74-2 version? Thanks again!

Maybe you should relabel the title. These are just flashable factory images right? It is not the same as AOSP. The changes are minimal but they are there.

OP Updated. New instructions, new links for 6.0.1, and added N, all the stock images flashable (except userdata and cache).
Please be careful with N. I uploaded, but have not yet tested them myself.

BETA-SuperSU-v2.74 is the one used. Pretty sure I renamed to remove the -2 at the end, but whatever was latest as of yesterday. BTW, N zips are up, but untested. I cannot express how new to this I am, and it's possible it could soft brick your phone. I'm testing the new 6.0.1 zips now, I'll test the N once I'm comfy knowing that the others work
So, I don't know what I did, but my phone did not like what I cooked. May have hard bricked it, which means I did something wrong in the bootloader. For the love of God, if you happened to have downloaded anything in the 5 minute window I had it live, don't flash it.
Thanks for this! Just out of curiosity, how often is the radio being updated?

June 1st Security patch [EXTRACTED OTA]

Ok, so Motorola just released some days ago the so awaited June security patch. In the changelog, it does not mention any type of bug fix and in the time I've used it, I haven't noticed any magical change.
DOWNLOAD
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T7Y5LjqjYD2LCgOycuYBlyBziTa00YRZ/view?usp=drivesdk
You can install it via sideload, having the STOCK RECOVERY on your device. Once it's downloaded, move the file to wherever you have installed fastboot, then reboot the device in recovery and press the power button for seven seconds, then the volume up button and press both once again for a second. It should display the generic menu for installing an update, with the volume buttons go to "apply update with sideload" and select with power button.
After that, you have to open the CMD in the fastboot folder and type the following command:
Code:
adb sideload Blur_Version.27.21.26.albus.retail.en.US.zip
After all the stuff is done, you may reboot the device. First boot will take a little bit longer.
Oh, and btw,
YOU CANNOT HAVE ROOT AND/OR XPOSED FOR THIS PROCESS, OTHERWISE INSTALLATION WILL FAIL! Be sure to flash the complete Oreo firmware before the process.
ChEeRs :good:
Works fine. Haven't noticed any improvements yet. At least albus is on par with the latest security patch as Pixel series.
Can someone here please help me to root my z2 play on June security patch 2 ? Please

Hi,
What the hell is going on here...
For whom motorola releasing security patches?
We are really confused! We didnt see any new software until now? (Europe) Is this joke?
P.s. there is a new Oreo firmware (ops27.76-12-25) released by Motorola - we know ..but is this mean that it is only one? Or Motorola is preparing a new version for other regions for example europe? Somebody knows what's going on?

Need clarification
I already install OPS27.76-12-25 (April patch) through sideload from nougat.
Can i install this through sideload from my current rom?

Moto G6 Play [Jeter][Aljeter] JeterPie [ROM] Updated 3.5.2020

Hello!
This ROM is for devices Jeter (Xt1922-7) & *NEW* Aljeter (Xt1922-5) and is based on our most current Pie security patches. For Jeter that is PCP29.118-67 and for Aljeter that is PPP29.55-35-18. Please do not flash these ROM's if you are not on this security patch currently whether it is by updating OTA or otherwise or on a device not listed. If you do, you may face unexpected results and I will not be able to help you. Flash at your own risk.
How to Flash:
Boot into TWRP and make a full backup first!
1.Place ROM on your external SD card and do a full wipe except external SD Card.
2.Flash ROM. Magisk is included with my Custom *modified builds and will flash with the ROM. Download the latest magisk manager.apk from the Play Store or XDA to use root features.
3.Flash DM verity+Force Encrytion disabler patch and if desired, Permissive SEpolicy patcher.
4.Go back to wipe section of twrp and format data by typing YES when prompted.
5.Reboot and ENJOY!
If a problem arises, I may need you to replicate it and upload a log.
ROM FEATURES:
Root via Magisk with safetynet passing with Magisk Hide.
Su.d Support
Busybox
SQlite Support
Zipaligned
Debloated
TWRP flashable zip
Please download and get back to me with the results. There are TWO VERSIONS for each device, one is a completely untouched and unrooted Stock ROM for new users or those who went too far modding and need to start fresh and the other IS rooted and has the features I listed above. Thank you for testing and your feedback.

I have no idea, I might try this ROM out, it looks fun. I've currently got mine on stock. Do you recommend clean flashing or dirty flashing the rom? Never mind, read through the post. Problem: I have no external storage. I generally use the TWRP and encrypted data fix by @skullkid383 to have access to my storage.

A quick question, is this was built via a kitchen? If so, which kitchen did you use? I've not had much luck with using my go to while messing with making my own ROMs.

Encrypted data fix? None of the TWRP builds can decrypt data. The fix is to unencrypt your data partition. Is that what you're talking about? A zip that disables forced encryption? That's not really an encryption fix, it's removing forced encryption.
I will wait until this rom is made on 9.0 Stock before I start testing it as I've recently updated my Boost Mobile Jeter to 9.0

I have a 9.0 ROM available for testing as of this morning
Lemme get in on this. I can take a log, been fooling with ROMs for a long time, not like I used to, but I got a new job with ample free time to burn up

Thanks, I'll add that in and upload a new version shortly.
Edit: @madbat99 The ROM is using the same apns.conf currently so Virgin should already be supported. I compared them in Meld and they are identical. Is your LTE not working?

I figured it was in there if you used the stock one. Should be Sprint, Virgin, and Boost.

Features Overview:
https://www.xda-developers.com/lineageos-15-feature-list-overview-screenshots-video/
What's working:
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Mobile Network (Calling, Data, etc.)
Audio (Stereo Speakers)
GPS
NFC
Camera
Fingerprint Sensor
S-Pen Basics
HDMI
MTP

IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.
Bugs:
?
Instructions:
Make sure TWRP has been installed and is functional
Download the latest build and ASB1 vendor.img (optionally gapps and magisk if needed)
Reboot to recovery
Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs)
Flash the vendor image
Flash the latest build (then gapps and magisk if needed)
Reboot
How to update builds?
Do not wipe anything unless stated in the changelog
Flash only the rom.zip and it will automatically reinstall your gapps, magisk etc
use /system/addon.d if you would like to keep system mods after an update

No, i haven't tried myself but i think i saw something about dual boot for s9 somewhere so should be easy to port over.
This is my daily driver now, dont think i will be using stock firmware again as this has everything i need.
Also if you dualboot alongside stock firmware im sure there will be a vendor mismatch problem.
ARK2 is what it is based on, any other vendors will either not boot at all or will break the cameras.

The reason why I want to dual boot is to not lose my data which is work related (some apps cant be simply reinstalled), but i really want to install your ROM!
Ill take a look and see if there is a way!

Battery life for me is very similar compared to stock, but my phone feels much faster, benchmarks score around the same only slightly higher.
If you are unrooted i don't think there is a safe way to backup your app data.
I hope my request is not a burdensome one to you but can you make a build for the korean version of note 9 (N960N)?
great developer, awesome rom - fast, nce and smooth........
Interesting .. Is HWC fixed now?
Nvm just saw your comment on HWC. Hopefully 16 comes sooner then later. Thanks for taking your time to release some new updated Asop goods.

Hell yes !! Thanks to the dev to make it possible ! Just a few questions about the spen before flashing that masterpiece
Are the spen and its features fully compatible with the rom just like the stock one or will I need to do some manipulations to get it ? And how about the spen smoothness in general ?
Thanks in advance

The Spen works well and will act like a mouse like it does in all aosp roms, it works to hover it over the screen and sensitivity is good, but the button won't work.

Yeah I understand what you mean. Not gonna lie that a bit frustrating. I'm a daily user of the Spen and that's way I was asking for it. I mean almost all its features are there excepting that button.. Anyway I will probably flash that one but do you know if it would be possible to make that button work in the future ?

I highly doubt AOSP will support the bluetooth button charging etc, as it's a samsung specific thing
for the S-Pen, I have been using AOSP rom 8.1
if you love AOSP and have a good reason to flash it, then it is possible to gain back some of the spen features in AOSP, not as smooth as in Sammy's Roms but ok, I posted what i did here, there is even a video showing what I did. it involves root, and xposed, (now ed exposed)
as for the spen bluetooth capability, the Spen is still active and recharges by itself. if you download nRF connect or lightblue apps from playstore, once you click the button you can see the pen as a bluetooth device SPEN (0D27) ZK, through these apps you can even subscribe to the service and get notifications when the button is pressed, so techinically speaking if someone has app development knowledge this can be done easily. to my limited knowledge I documented what I have discovered here
I have suggested to nRF connect App devs if they can have a tasker plugin so we upon a spen button click we can use tasker to make different actions, they reacted positively, the dev mentioned that they might work on it but might take some time since they are short resourced. but been some time since.
I did a funny workaround once, they keep the log in data/data/no.nordicsemi.android.log/databases, so when that file changes you can read the line change and read the button event, and trigger a tasker action.
its doable, just needs a proper dev that works on it. an AOSP spen remote, or even a custom BLE notification tasker plugin if he wants to make it universal and target alot of devices such as smartwatches..
last note: if the spen works funny in landscape, there is a post in the same thread showing how to fix it.
@Synt4x.93 I will flash this rom today.. Thank you for the awesome work..

[CLOSED] Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

First, I am not responsible to what happens after you flash this. If your phone dose not work afterwords it is your own doing. I didn't force you to flash it..
This is a stock rom for the most part for the Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra U1 that I use as my daily driver. I disabled file encryption, removed knox, fixed screen cast and shealth plus Bluetooth and smartwatch pairing. Most of the Google apps are uninstallable. I'll try to keep this up to date every month the best I can. Enjoy.
You Must Have A Unlocked Bootloader and a SM-N986 U1 or U Ultra to proceed. This Might Wipe Your Data!! Make a Back up!!.
Instructions:
1: Flash with Odin in the respective slots (bl, ap, cp and csc).
2: Wipe and format data in recovery if coming from a different rom or android version.
3: Reboot and set it up.
Enjoy.
See this thread or this thread if you need a unlock. The teams there are great!
Built With SuperR's Kitchen
Thanks @afaneh92 for the unlock and TWRP
Thanks @bklyn_syed for sharing the fixes for Bluetooth and shealth.

Thanks I built it last night.
Anyone who downloaded this before this post please re-download the rom. I had a file mixed up with another rom by mistake, sorry. New files are uploading now. Please report any problems you may have if any, Thanks.
I uploaded some a new build that addresses the game launcher crash and theme store crash.
@Misterxtc Very glad to see more custom roms being built.
Would you be able to build an AOSP rom for the Note 20 Ultra (SM-986U)?
Would love to see an AOSP rom like Lineage OS or Havoc OS

Me too but I haven't gotten one to boot properly yet. I also own a S20+ and would like to build something for both. I am exploring the options.

I don't think so but I'm really not sure, I haven't looked into it. The big deal for me is downloading more firmware, keeping track of more files, storage space and time. Honestly it's pretty simple to build your own. You can get all the info you need for that here .

I was sitting here debating on whether to go with 10 or 11 lol. Durrr me...I'm all for a custom cleaned up ROM any day over the untouched stock firmware. I see that your ROM is on the latest 11 (CUA1). Nice!
Since your tweaking the universal U1 firmware and since there isn't any carrier bloatware in there, is there much to really remove to make it even more lean and lighter? I know in the old days those firmware's were loaded with bloat and by removing them helped it a lot.
I also noticed that the latest 11 file size was smaller than the latest 10. From what you can see is that from just making 11 more efficient, thus making it lighter?
Regarding the change log:
Disabled File Encryption - Is that for the entire device file encryption or the built in folder encryption that was disabled? What are the benefits from disabling this? Does it just make it smoother even if you don't use the encryption feature on the device?
Removed Knox - Does using a smart watch to use Samsung Pay etc... still a work around even with the device knox removed?
Are there any settings to be able to tweak camera settings to improve the camera? iirc back in the Note 3 and 4 days, a Dev said that there was a value in the image quality or something that was set to I think 8 instead of the max 10? He had maxed that out and included that in the ROM... I'm curious if such adjustments exist in the 11?
Does the CUA1 have the baked in Microsoft Swiftkey (VIRUS) or is that only on carrier firmware's?
I have the Unlocked varaint of the Note 20 Ultra straight from Samsung. Oddly, it came with firmware ATGO, which is ATT lol.. but I'm on TM. What has been annoying is that I can't uninstall the darn microsoft swiftkey.
I love Swiftkey as a keyboard (best touch accuracy IMO), but despise the intrusivemness, so I like to use my own tweaked swiftkey with the internet premissions removed w/ using AFWall+ to block everything else. ie...
The thing is that I haven't been able to install the tweaked swiftkey due to it not letting me since the stock MS one is baked in...
