hey guys,
for the fun i tried to run Eclair android on my niki, with in my mind it would not work.
well i did follow a tutorial which was meant for Kaiser/Vogue/Polaris.
then it just booted in Eclair, i made some pictures for you guys to take a look at.
Ill also make a vid, with booting in it, and some things to show.

Fast tutorial for installing SD-Card rips
1. Download the SD-Card rip package you want from this page.
2. Extract it to your desktop.
3. Now select all the folders, and right-click Copy.
4. Connect your HTC Touch-Dual *NIKI* to your computer.

This is a SD-Card rip which was installed on a HTC Kaiser, because the NIKI does not have as many keys as the Kaiser, i could not start the installation on my HTC Touch-Dual *NIKI*.
So there only will be a SD-Card rip untill now.

1. Download the Install folder you want from this page.
2. Extract it to your desktop.
3. Now select all the folders, and right-click Copy.

12. Now there will pop-up a messenge “This will wipe your existing system!” just select YES, this will not remove your windows mobile installation, it should delete a previous android installation, which is not installed yet..
13. Now there will pop-up another messenger “Would you like to clear data too?(Suggested)” select YES again.
14. Now android will be installed on your SD-Card, when it is done, you will return to the install menu, now just select Quit and it will boot in android.

yes, nike users can use the package for the vogue. the problem for me was that nike could not wake up after sleeping because we have different key mapping than vogue or kaiser. how is ur battery life?
im on school right now.
when im home, ill upload a complete rip of my SD card.
what i've done is the following:
i downloaded the pack for the HTC kaiser/vogue etc.
then i used the default.txt from a android made for the htc niki.
the only thing i changed in there was change "Zimage" to "Zimage-monsha"
then i could just install the andoid on my sd card and run it.
i don't know about the battery life yet, i didn't test it very well yet.
it's pretty laggy though so it will need some very good improvements.
Did your data work? I also got eclaire runniung on nike on ext2 partition using the methods from the vogue forums, but I noticed some issues:
- No data
- Slow
- I Tried to patch the new 3d driver stuff into the kernel. Afterwards i had accellerated graphics without textures (live wallpapers). But i have the same issue on some combinations of older builds, kernels and rootfs.
I also tried other builds from ext2 (all without rootfs, no working data on any of them , but it seems like the old versions with rootfs work better (-> data works)
i did not test it anymore.
i was at school.
rightnow im at home, so ill make a rip of my sd card, this is not formatted in ext2 or something.
i just deleted all the data on the sd card, and i just installed it.
it will take a while to upload, cause its pretty big.
right now im going to upload the .rar file.
it is 115 MB big, so make sure your sd-card is bigger than 512 MB

i tryed with sleepmode on 0, and it just worken, also on 1 it just worked.
i do not know how to see if full sleep is working, but it could be also working on the HTC Touch-Dual *NIKI*
set pm.sleep_mode=4. Data don´t work. Data don´t work on Nike with more new Android OS like donuts(1.6) or eclair(2.1) only in olders like android 1.5. Nike handsets lacks of android developers. We have no luck like Polaris/Vogue/Kaiser/Diamond users
i know, but i edited the default.txt a lil, by changing the resolution, i had less lagg, but it does not show the whole screen :S
even when im using the resolution of the screen :X

yes it awakes then.
and i did not test it with sim yet, the first thing i wanted to do is a good fast stable android build.
i found one, only one problem:
you cannot install it on your niki, i have to take the data.img and system.img from a HTC Kaiser(which uses my dad)
i already got a rip, right now im going to test if that works.
then i will delete all settings in there, and upload it here, one thing; it is REALLY fast!!

I had the same problem first, then reboot the phone and it works great !
My only problem is the qwerty keyboard layout ... mine is azerty

Hi there,
Tried it here in Germany. Boots fine, but no Data. Carrier shows up and after creating a new APN, The Modem APP shows active Connection, IP Address and so on. But for some Reason, there's no Flow of Data...
Any Ideas ?

Data don´t work on Nike with the more newest android builts. We lack developers
I noticed that data works on eclair and donut, but the connection drops after a (very) short time. Sometimes I was able to load one or two webpages after a fresh boot until the connection went down (20Key Nike, O2 Germany). I also got google sync once working for a few seconds (enough to fetch mail).
So it seems to be more a stability issue than a general lack of data connection.
Does anyone have developent experience with android? I am now compiling the eclair build with the latest libraries from the vogue andoid git tree, but if someone already knows were the data problem is or what it could be i could find a faster solution, any in the development would be great.

It´s true. It is like get freezed. If you go to modem and you want to disconnect it say disconnected but you can see still the icon and sometimes the up arrow. After this if you want to turn off the hanset you can´t and its needed a soft reset. So after get connect and with a luck to browse two webpages it get freezed
After many tries here is it, my first beta for Android Eclair 2.1 for the Nike.
Work is still in progress and maybe out there there is someone who would like to help me in this project of porting a working version of android 2.1 to the nike.

- Data Problem fixed, some disconnects but it can be used without problems (I reccomend to reset the modem when you dont use the connection anymore)

####Install Instructions####
- Copy the andboot folder to the root of your SD
- Run Haret
- When haret is running hold the dpad middle button to enter the installation menu
- In the installation menu choose where to install (i use data and system on sd card partitions, its faster)
- Press Install System
- After the system is installed press quit and wait
The first boot is a little bit slow, there is no bootanimation in this built so dont worry if the screen turns black, just wait few minutes, after the first boot i recommend to reboot to speed up things.

Android uses your storage card. To go back to wimo you have restart you device.
When you want to update android: Download the files and over write the existing files.
Once installed Android, I can enter to Android, and Restart my device, I can go to my Windows mobile , So I want to Android again, How can I do? Need to install Andriod again????

Do you use the zimage in my package? Try using another zimage, maybe the latest on the vogue project page works.
For the data connection i found that ppp is not invoked because i get an error that says that only root can run /bin/pppd, so maybe the data connection does not work becase pppd is not invoked, i will make some tries to check that.

Very good, i am working on the data problem, first of all pppd had permission problems so i fixed that, pppd is now called but it fail when it tries to create a pid file becase it says that the filesystems is read only... do you have icq or msn so we can se what we can do next?

i think this time is different: the installing procedure tells that the process is going to overwrite the rom..
the old android version used the storage card like a guest..not this one..

Dont choose to install it on the nand, choose sdcard partition or image files... Android will be installed on the sdcard and winmo remains on the nand.
You did a great job man, got it running on my HTC Nike, and it performs better than other android ports ( looking to speed and connectivity ). The only downsides at the moment, is that i can't activate XT9 dictionary while writing a message, and the camera functionality ( every port had this for as far I know, so can't blaim you ).
So my question to you is, do you know any way to enable (Dutch) XT9 on this rom? I got the device running on Dutch language now, but in the dictionary-settings, there are no known words, whatsoever. Since I don't know if there is any way to browse my storage card ( didn't see any explorer or anything ), i can't install it like a cab or anything.
Would be cool if i could get it running, would make it a wonderfull android port

Ok guys, big step foward, i am connected succesfully to the internet, but dns does not work, this means:
- If i open the browser and type www.google.com no page is displayed
- If i open the browser and type the ip-adress of www.googl.com, the page is displayed
so there is just a little dns problem, maybe tomorrow i am able to solve it, even the 3g icon on the top is not displayed...
why am I not able to install the os?
after the choice "install" the procedure starts formatting..
then, and after a lot, a message tells
"can't umount /data: invalid arguments" and goes back to initial choice list..
After installation process when you are back in the list choose fix permissions,then back In the list choose quit than wait...after a few minutes Android. Should start

when i make selections via the vol.up&down and menu button i can continue to the page where i can slect my rom.
the option GB is marked, and vibrating, and i cannot move the dot to my option "aosp based, JB".
so, i cannot move on. abort installation is all that's left.
where can i select this calibration tool? under menu there is only 'about' and 'quit (=abort)'

I replaced this file and tried flashing again.
this time no touchscreen on the aroma installer, but no flickering screen with errors.
i was able to make all selections via volume buttons and home button and am now testing...

I got it working on pac. Just download the zip with the older aroma. You can then use volume buttons to navigate.

score on Antutu @ 806mhz: was about 3100.
after this mod: first 3000 and second time 3200+.
edit: after sleep my wifi is already on, in stead of reconnecting. + my wifi reconnected after leaving my wifi area and returning (before i had to turn wifi off and on before wifi turned on again). not thoroughly tested, but first impression is (very) good.

the file you can download from post 1 is called update-binary, not update-binary-installer.
replace the downloaded file in the zip, and flash.
worked for me.

...im facing a bug i never dd in the previous versions after updating to v3.0.203:
GameToolkit doesnt work at all, actually after launching it nothing happens at all, no floating buttons, just nothing!
1.i updated OTA succesfully
2.i even downloaded the *.iso and made a fresh install and still the same problem.

Hi.
I installed remix os 3.0.202 64bit and 3.0.203 32bit and 64bit from both hard drive and flash memory many times
and after installation display is black but pressing arrow key and Enter key of keyboard have tap sound;
now what should I do for displaying any thing on my display?
note: there is a minus sign on the top left corner on my display after installation!

Hi, just updated to 203 and i have the same issue here, gaming toolkit showing but not working at all, keyboard not responding...?? i'm playing pinball arcade, used to work fine before updated
Upgraded to ver 202 on HDD from 104 by copying over, as I was not allowed OTA (had used USB-stick installer with INSTALL=1 and ext4). Changed root folder name from 2016-08-11 to 2016-08-23 and same edits of Grub2. Worked fine: https://youtu.be/e-4lgdjT-4Q
Then yesterday came ver 203 - same procedure - worked fine too, once changed the root folder name to RemixOS.
I did a clean install coming from 3.0.201 and ran into this...error? I had this issue on 202 as well so I was hoping 203 would've fixed it. 201 is the last bootable build for me.
My Motherboard (Asus P6T) doesn't have WiFi, and I can't seem to get past "WiFi Setup", can it be skipped? I tried every key on the keyboard...

Thank You, but it appears that's not the problem, and I didn't see anything else on the screen... The OS just isn't booting properly on my system, I select Language, then Agree, then WiFi Setup appears, it just remains at the pink and black screen, with nothing else around, and the mouse pointer appears and disappears, sometimes I can get a white context sharing menu. I tried rebooting, still all I can get is the pink and black screen, nothing else is showing up. (My video card is an Nvidia 660Ti)

Thanks again, but the OS seems to be booting fine, and the problem may have been an incompatible mouse (SteelSeries), the next problem now is overscan (I'm connected to a TV via HDMI), parts of the UI are beyond the screen edges, and so I can't complete the setup process. But that's OK, I'm only trying RemixOS. Thanks for your help.
Edit: OK, after 3 or 4 reboots, it's now working almost fine, launching Play Store caused a freeze. I'll keep trying.

The laptop was only connected to a power cord and ethernet like it always is. I reinstalled 201 and it boots perfectly fine under the same exact conditions. I will try your suggestion when I get the chance, thanks!

I had remix os installed with windows 10 home it was working but after today windows 10 put out an update and after it finished there isn't any more remix os option at boot it just goes straight into windows the remix file folder and files are still there. Any ideas??

@[email protected] @wizmart - I've asked our Remix OS for PC product manager on this. He checked out the issue with the engineers and here is a possible solution:
1) Go to 'Settings > Remix OS options > Windowed mode app list > Gaming toolkit'
2) Make sure Windowed mode is enabled
Please let me know if this fixes the issue with the Key mapping tool. Thanks!

Have you tried to reinstall Remix OS again? According to my engineering colleague, it's actually pretty common for bigger Windows updates to do this to other OS you try to dual boot from.
After OTA from 3.0.201 to 3.0.203, system no longer boots up. Just shows the blinking "_" on black screen. Can't figure out what went wrong..

Your boot entry / boot files for remix were wiped during the Windows update. You need to examine if only boot entry was lost or also the files - if only entry, then you can manually add it via EasyBCD on legacy boot or via EasyUEFI on UEFI boot.
If you are not experienced in the above, it's easier to just reinstall. You can back up the data.img first, then install and then restore data.img.

....good day, i have tried all your suggestions and i have the Game tool Kit enabled in the windowed mode apps list,but the its not responding either, it opens a window and then closes without showing the floating button,same behaviour as incompatible applications i have tried installing on the system.

Hi Jason, i have just had a look to my settings after your advice, gaming toolkit was enabled windows mode, i did a try again with pinball arcade just to discover there is actually a keymapping made from the game with left/right arrows active even without keymapping enable but anyway i tried again mapping other keys like before, that didn't work..i tried then with beach buggy racers, same there no success, i tried deactivate my trackpad: it was still active after reboot...i tried gaming toolkit not in windows mode, no difference, not working...
well thats my experience until now

1) Video Playback issue... in all apps including Youtube, MX Player.. but not Kodi.
2) Open Youtube app, can't play any quality above 240, hangs at a frame then skips then repeats. It shows libStagefright metadata error in logcats in Youtube and other appications
3) Running Remix OS version 2.0.206
AMD Athlon Dual Core 2.00 Ghz, 32 bit installation, 3 GB ram, Nvidia Gefore 8200 mg.
For this specific video card, please add this command to init.sh in future versions to fix a nouveau bug related to thermal settings causing the screen to flickr badly making it useless, so that I, and other users having the same card, don't have to manually enter the command each time we boot Remix OS.

Hi, I have installed the Remix OS in my HP Pavilion dv4-2170us and everything worked fine untill I pressed the power button (in the OS menu) and selected the ''standby'' option...
That's when the system freezed (but the music still playing at the background), I tried pressing every button, but still nothing happened.. That's when I decided to force shutdown the laptop by holding the power button.
Then I turned it on again, and when the OS finished loading, the first I see is the volume gui showing and hidding over and over again, and the volume going up and down like crazy!... Since then I have been trying to fix this with some ''volume lock'' apps, but this thing keeps happening... The most annoying thing is that when the volume goes up or down, the mouse arrow dissapears, so I can't even do things in peace, I have to fight constantly with the invisible arrow, and the click also works whenever he wants... Please help me fix this!!
Is there a way to disable the volume hotkey or something, or just lock it, or hide that the volume is changing every time.. I don't know, something!!..
I will apreciate it very much.

Hello !
1. I can not play HIT (Heroes of Incredible Tales)
2. I want to try Gaming toolkit so I install and open HIT, game update patch, intro run, HIT auto quit without any report.
3. Remix OS 3.0.206 ( Model number VPCEA36FM , Sony)
Ps: I do not know how to add attach files in go advance.
I succesfuly Install Nova 3 on my laptop and there is no problem in single player game but whenver i play multiplayer game online (there is no problem in Local wifi game) Firstly game work like butter but after i get killed game stuck(not responding also stuck play store) it stuck at respawning( sometime it play smoothly 2 to 3 spawning). The only way out of this quit game from taskbar or force quit. and when i try to reopen this game only black screen appears, the other game which work perfectly now shows also black screen.Only Way out off this restart laptop(Clearing cache force stop not working )

Stop "Detected game pad" on some games
I am using remix os for Laptop(Android x86)
as title suggest any way to disable game pad detection on some games.
Because my external keyboard detected as game pad and all on screen buttons gone.
So i cant map anything with mapper .
I search lot on google nothing find useful,
Any application that hidecertain hardware access to certain apps.
1. no wired network connection on msi h81i
2. auto or manual ip conf. does no help (wired adaptor works fine in Ubuntu)
3. The downloaded version is B2016110301 deb for LINUX TESTING
