In order to flash any of the ROMs you'll find here on this forum you'll need to have an unlocked bootloader, which I believe is only available on the H850 European model of the G5. I haven't seen any posts on a successful unlock for the Verizon, which I believe is the VS987 and not the H850.

I recently bought a Cricket Version XT1527 that is not allowed for bootloader unlocking. From what I've read you can flash other signed roms. However, I recently bricked one trying this. I think it is because I started with the 5.1 rom which seems to hose things up. Therefore, two questions before I try this again.
1. Can I flash my locked bootloader cricket to the sim unlocked variant (no carrier) 5.0.2 rom with no problems?
2. When it gets the 5.1 update, will it install without any issues?

was this the 2015 moto e? I didn't think there was a go phone version.
Also, did anything screw up? Did parts of it successfully flash? Or did it just deny everything and stay with stock?
You can't do it. Trying it would likely brick your phone. Look, to flash a Unlocked SIM firmware, you'd need to have your bootloader unlocked, as it'd be a different firmware than yours, and the phone doesn't let you flash alien firmware if your bootloader is unlocked.
For Cricket users, there's no way to flash any firmware other than Cricket one.

And they make the bootloader unlockable so you CAN'T unlock the SIM, stuff like this should be illegal.

Will the amount of development improve for the G5 in general for all variants?
I believe so, yes
What I'm wondering is how similar the Canadian model is to it. Or how much difference between the h831 and h830 there really could be.

pretty much the same in hardware.. but the entire bootstack is different. what works for tmobile would not work for H831. H831 is in the same boat as the ATT, Verizon and other locked variants. not possible to use the tmobile bootstack on non-tmo phones either.

apparently.. check out the tmobile g5 development section.. there's a TOT made that flashes TWRP on your devices.. works as long as you unlock the bootloader thru fastboot first.
Can some one send me the link to the t mobile lg g5 flash twrp please

for EU H850 devices that do not pass through LG's Bootloader Unlock Developer page... the only hope is for you all to contact LG and continuing to contact/complain until they either give you a valid reason why some H850 EU variants do not work when 95% of them do... and hopefully they will add your variant/buyer-type to the unlock program officially.
Just wondering if it is possible yet?

NO, not until it's placed on the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list.
https://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev
Believe me, when it happens you won't have to ask. For one the TWRP thread won't say "for H930 only" and stuff like that. Or there will be another TWRP thread opened... I hope that doesn't happen, would be best to have one LG V30 TWRP.
Thank Chazz! I am on TMobile. Will I have to root to get all the bands eligible to be used? I don't want to lose volte and have worse coverage with this expensive phone than my old v30

If you mean LTE band 71, yeah. But should have all other bands already.
And band 71 by root is speculation based on a T-Mobile networking folder in the hidden menu files that can't be accessed without root. Or the ability to flash T-Mobile radio over the US998, again with root.
Neither are guaranteed until we try it, but devs are very creative.

Last question Chazz and thanks buddy. You really think there will be Dev support? There is like none for the mi mix 2.

All I can go by is the bootloader unlocked model V20 (late 2016) and G6 (mid 2017 by the time bootloader unlock came). The US997 LG G6 in particular has TWRP, root, ROMs. The only thing messed up is there are two versions of TWRP, one for the European and an "unofficial" for the US997. I hope that mistake is not made for the V30 US998.

I was wondering if there's a way to flash the tmobile firmware to an unlocked att v60? Also, can the att v60 connect to all of the same 5G Bands as the tmobile version? Thanks in advance?

Without root exploit and twrp there's no way to cross flash firmwares.

NO
The tmobile variant of the lg v series phones always have different encryption keys than all the other phones. You should never attempt to put the tmobile firmware on a non tmobile variant or vice versa.
Furthermore crossflashing does not work with LG Up. Tried to flash mine LMV600EA Taiwanese version with LMV600EA EU fw and no go. Someone said that there is a hardware lock preventing crossflashing but statment does not present any facts or explanasion.

The phones from other regions may also have different encryption keys. Regardless the cross flashing for the v30, v35, and v40 were mostly the result of patched lg-up that allowed the crossflashing.
The main board may be made by andifferent manufacturer like the usa galaxy phones with snap dragons and European galaxy phones with enxoyos processors. How every you spell it.

Even with uppercut? Is that still a thing like the v20 days?
I see there are some comments that it is able to convert LG V60 Tmobile to Open Canada since they are same code V600TM.
1. Is there anyone tried?
2. How about the US Cellular firmware when compare with the Open Canada?
I think both of them are open firmware like global (without carrier apps). Is it correct?
Lol take a look around. There's no way to do anything to this phone

Do you have IMPL lock ??
No... sorry....
Crossflashing does work on certain V600EA versions (Mainly on Europe variants) and on the V600N Pre production models, the US Versions all have IMPL Locks
