Hi all,
Made this flashable zip with a DRM fix that seems to work on our X f5121. It's the kernel from the latest 34.2.A.0.273 firmware but the fix should also work on 34.2.A.0.266 firmware
The DRM fix is essentially a copy of the DRM fix used in the Genesis kernel for the XC made by @ggow so all credits go out to him and his work!

Not sure it will work for the f5122, Thank it has a different kernel. But test it, if it doesnt work send me the stock boot.img and i'll make it work
Yo @kistigun, f5121 here, the kernel does not work. The phone just stay stuck on the sony logo.

oke, thanks for testing. Can you try the following for me:
Unpack boot.img from zip
Connect in bootloader mode
Flash boot.img in fastboot command(fastboot flash boot boot.img)
reboot

That's what i already did before as i have no ther way to flash a kernel (not rooted).

ah, well you need to flash the zip with twrp or flashfire. Only flashing the boot.img wont work.

Now i have modded kernel and can confirm that DRM work fine, and if U want i can share with You My edited kernel with Ric-off, DRM-fix and SuperSu included.
So @kistigun, it did not work. My phone won't boot & act dead. Found a way to put it in flashmode and i'm restoring it to stock with Emma. @[email protected]

There's no recovery installed by default, flash a kernel with recovery first... then press volume+ at the right moment (most kernels turn on the lightbar or power led to tell you)

I like Nemesis kernel (download kernel and modules), copy modules zip to phone, extract kernel from 1st zip and flash it via fastboot, enter recovery and install modules to get wifi working

Just put the modules.zip in the media partition (/sdcard) and install from recovery :good:

you must have installed a custom recovery or have rooted your official rom that is why it doesn't download updates
you have to flash your stock rom through odin first then you can receive updates
if you are doing this just for installing stock MM then download latest firmware or MM firmware for your variant and flash it

There are two options: flash img in recovery partition and boot partition, I suppose you chose recovery instead of boot..

I have a rooted E2353 WITH SU 2.76. Is there any boot.img to update it to SU 2.82?
When i update the SU through goole play or flash it via recovery nothing happens or shows error: binary is not updated. And update fails every time.

Trying that out right now, will let you all know if I run into a bootloop. (It gave an ODM mounting error, don't know its significance but that's why I'm worried.)
Actually while I was writing this the phone turned on.
EDIT: After a reboot, the phone doesn't boot at all it sends me to the download mode.

For everyone's information, this works and you can use root nicely, however, most magisk modules will destroy the system and throw you out to the download mode and you will have to wipe the data to boot again. I presume this is because most of the modules I have tried aren't Android 10 compatible yet. If anybody is able to get V4A work or install current magisk modules and run them reach out to me because I'd like to hear how.
EDIT: I somehow got it working but now I see that the Bluetooth devices aren't kept after reboot not even with the proper module to keep them.

If you are in OOS11 you will get the OP recovery, so you will need to flash TWRP by fastboot.
I don´t know why to patch boot.img for magisk. I flash magisk v21.4 (v23 always fail when flasing with twrp, I think my .zip is corrupted ) from TWRP and then it works. After rebooting it can be ugraded to 23.

Extract Android OTA Payload.bin File using Payload Dumper Tool
Learn how to dump and extract Android OTA Payload.bin file to get the boot.img (for rooting with Magisk), vendor.img, and other other partition images.
