Why does the TMobile G1 have Google Voice Search and not Hero?
I saw this was removed by HTC. Any idea how to re-enable it or whether there was copyright issues?
The G1 1.5 carries Google Voice Search.
The HTC Hero 1.5 does not.
Any info regarding that?

I bought my phone in Germany and I live in Thailand. The Google Search by voice app can't be found on my phone in the market place. Any advice?

I downloaded that RS Voice Search App, and tried to install it on my unrooted Orange Hero, and it says it "Voice Search could not be installed on this phone" ?

Like the posts above I to had same symtoms on my T-Mobile G2!
Fortunately I didn't have to search hard & found the soloution on the T-Mobile descussions page, link is below!!!

Thanks for the link. I downloaded the app and finally got it to work. So far it works in all the apps I have tried it in. Thanks again!!!
Now I am live in china, the network for me is not very good, the core question is that I cannot open the rapidshare. c om & 4shared. c om which are most the rom download websites.

the seller made it sure that the sim slot is data only and i guess it is the same issue with the nexus one and till now no one succeeded in solving this important issue
Have you tried to install phone.apk? (from any other android with same version)
still can't this voice call features wont work...I've system upgrade to JB but the phone.apk is in directory but not working...haist!

Phone call can be activated on Chinese rom with a littel patch.
all you need is ROM+Root+Patch+and an SD Card in case

Flash blow rom on your device with sdcard upgrade.

the cmd windows will give a massage just press OK and wait until see " press any key to continue" on cmd window.

press the first button from top and give root access by press allow or grant button.

what if i upgrade to the general version of 4.1.2 will it work or i have to stick with the chinese version?
Only works on this CN version . Just this version.

for having Google apps you should root your Mediapad 10 FHD and then download
[remove space]

and install "actiGSM.apk" on device
after opening the app just tap on left button and it restart device and Google apps will be available

I still own a (meanwhile old) Alcatel OneTouch Fire with FirefoxOS 1.3.
It is still working, somehow looks nice and I would not like to discard it.
Using google discovered that I obviously missed the time when there was the possibility for an upgrade to FirefoxOS 2.5 enabled by someone called "Penserbjorne a.k.a. MexMod".
Mexmod seemed to have had a webpage which is not online any more.
Using "Waybackmachine" I found this thread(*) and this tutorial(+) from 2015.
Unfortunately all links to ROMS, USB drivers or udev-rules point to some "mega-file-hoster". They are not accessible any more.
Does anyone still own these files and is willing to share them?
Is anyone willing to share some further ideas+recipes what to do with such an old phone? (Installing kaiOS, installing android, rooting, turn it into a webserver ....)
