I suppose the baseband (CP) version you have attached is G850FXXU1CPC1
I have version G850FXXU1COJ5 and can't update - Odin can't flash, no details for the error, just failed 1. The full name of the ROM I had flashed is
G850FXXS2CQA2_G850FOLB2COJ1_G850FXXU1COJ5_HOME.tar.md5
and previously I had used
G850FXXU2COK6_G850FOLB2COJ1_G850FXXU1COJ5_HOME.tar.md5
which seem to have same baseband.
Why can't I update the baseband?
Thank you
Hi,
I am trying to flash newer baseband from what I have: G850FXXU1COJ5
I tried but failed with flashing through odin of the following two:
G850FXXU2COK6.bin
G850FXXU1CPC1.bin
Perhaps I am making a mistake in flashing it, but I am not aware which is newer or what is the difference between these two U2 COK6 and U1 CPC1
U2 > U1, but COK6 < CPC1, so which one is newer?
Thanks

5. download recovery.zip, extract and flash it, WARNING use this recovery only with G530FZXXU1BOG2_G530FZOXA1BOG2_PHE, it is extracted from this rom and it should fix boot loop after flashing the cm autoroot package
6. reboot and you have rooted lollipop on G530FZ

p.s. I am now working on xposed installer

Hi this tutorial is for them who wants to upgrade to Android 6.0 on J5 and also for those who wants to downgrade back to 5.1 on their J5 (2015) manually using odin.
This tutorial will be divided into three section upgrade, downgrade and rooting.
Upgrade to Android 6.0
As Samsung has started rolling out android 6.0 for J5 (2015) model. It will be available to all the regions sooner or later on most of the models of J5. Incase if you are not getting OTA update of android 6.0 on your country and are curious to try Android Marshmallow, you can try to flash android 6.0 available for other country. For example: If you have J500H model and android 6.0 for J500H is available for some other countries but not in your country than you can download android 6.0 firmware of those countries and flash it through Odin.
Note: The model number of J5 should be same for example you cannot flash J500F firmware to J500H ,
you can only flash firmware of J500H to J500H, countries or area does not matter as long as the
device model is same.
Procedure:
1. Go to the link below and search for firmware for your device. (Eg: Galaxy J500H)
2. You will find firmware for various regions and android version. Download the android 6.0 firmware for your
region. If you don’t get android 6.0 for your region than download android 6.0 available for any region as you
prefer.
3. Download odin from the link below.
4. Backup any necessary things like apps, contacts or files as you may loose them.
5. Now follow the instruction given below and flash android 6.0 to your j5.
PRE-REQUIREMENTS:
Download & Install Galaxy USB Driver on your computer,
Enable USB debugging on your Galaxy J5 smartphone and OEM unlocking.
Your phone battery should be at 80% or above.
How to Install Stock Rom on Galaxy J5
1 . After downloading the Galaxy J5 Firmware and Odin software files from the download section.
2. Extract/unzip both files on your computer.
3. Now, boot your Samsung Galaxy J5 into download mode. To do that turn off the phone, after the phone is off,
press and hold the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
4. Connect your Galaxy J5 to your computer using USB Cable and wait till Odin software detects it. Once, Odin
software detects your phone, you will see the Added message on Odin.
5. Before installing the stock firmware on Galaxy J5 make sure that both Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time are selected.
Then, click on the AP button on Odin software and select the stock Rom where you have previously extracted it.
Now click start button. Odin will start flashing.
6. In the end, on the Odin software the pass message should be displayed and your Samsung Galaxy J5 will
reboot automatically.
7. Congratulation you have upgraded to android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Detailed tutorial for flashing via Odin:

2. USB driver

3. Odin
https://androidmtk.com/download-odin-downloader-versions
Downgrade to Android 5.1.1
Incase if you don’t like android 6.0 and want to downgrade you can downgrade to android 5.1.1 by following these
steps.
1. Download 5.1.1 firmware for your region from the given link.
2. Follow the steps provided in above upgrade tutorial and flash the firmware using the Odin.
Rooting:
For rooting your J5 on Android 6.0 as well as Android 5.1.1 follow these steps.
1. Download the TWRP recovery from the link below.
Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) ( Thanks @Nick Verse for TWRP recovery)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3338869
Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) (Thanks @ganesh varma for TWRP recovery)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j500f-t3416960
2. Download Supersu zip from the link below
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
For Marshmallow Users if you are facing bootloop after flashing supersu.zip . Flash the supersu file given in the link below.
https://mega.nz/#!zNVBhKjb!FZFKq6vaIPudYMoIajb-3zwuLOC26OHtdYY_TKt-6Qs (Thanks @jka_dark28 for link)
3. Now flash downloaded TWRP via Odin. (Follow the same process to Flash)
4. Transfer supersu zip file to your sd card.
5. After flashing TWRP. Reboot to recovery by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power Button.
6. Now in TWRP select install, locate your Supersu zip file and flash it.
7. Than reboot your device. Congratulation you have rooted your device.
Note: Flashing TWRP and Supersu will void your warranty. So think before you flash. After flashing
TWRP do a nandroid backup first before flashing anything (even supersu file) so that if anything
goes wrong you can restore back.
And most important do everything on your own risk. I will not be responsible to any damage made to your device. But if you follow the process carefully you will not face any problem.
Hope this tutorial will help you all who don't have idea about these things.
Do write your comments and Hit thanks if it helped you.:good:
thanks for the tutorial!

Downgrade
Hi All!
If I want to downgrade from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1 via Odin, is it sure, that I need only one AP/PDA file from firmware sites?
Because I remember with an older phone, that if I need to downgrade, it need the other files too - Bootloader, Phone, CSC.
Is it sure that there is no need for them? If it, where can I download them?
Thanks!
Hello mate, I have gone back and forward from LP - MM a number of times.
I have had no problem with it as all.
I just flashed the firmware from from Sam mobile ( there are lots us links through out the ROMs thread)
I have only had to put the file into the AP and flashed no problem.
Just mage sure that the firmware is the correct one for your model

I used my own odin package as it shows pass after flashing twrp. I tried both files but nothing changed. Stock recovery boots after flashing either file.

Remove battery of your device before flashing using odin , Donot check reboot after flashing.
Flash recovery using odin , remove usb from device , put battery back and then try running recovery , worked for me.

Which rom were you using when you flashed TWRP?
Here is the solution

Hey
Yesterday I flashed a boot logo on my SM-G928F in TWRP. After that my phone doesn't boot into system or recovery anymore - there's always a blackscreen. I only can boot into download mode.
I tried to flash a stock-rom via Odin but that didn't helped - the same blackscreen, because a stock rom does not replace the boot logo.
I think I have to flash the stock boot logo ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1378RQ5w_vAAmnQ3HB0FymZXWIm12T0Mg/view ) , but thats a zip which I can't flash via Odin.
There a two ways in my mind which could work:
1. Getting a tar.md5 file with the stock boot logo.
2. Getting a tool which allows to flash zips in download mode of the phone.
I really hope that someone could help me with my big problem.
Best regards
DGB
Hey there
I recommend to flash the firmware again but this time after flashing firmware flash the twrp and flash the zip via adb sideload ( a feature present in TWRP) as by adb sideload one is able to flash zip files as well
Or i recommend you to get to know the combination of keys that will help you to directly enter into recovery
Hope it will work
And if there is any problem let me know
As in the internet there are various ways by which a person can flash the custom rom and custom recovery via odin
Look at this link:-

Thank you for your answer but that didn't worked. The problem is that flashing the stock firmware doesn't replace or repair the boot image. So I've got a never ending blackscreen when I want to boot in system or TWRP/Recovery and that means that I'm not able to configure ADB Sideload.
I can only boot into download mode, nothing else.
I think the jpg of the boot logo I've installed was corrupted so it can't be loaded
You are in download mode so you have to press all the keys including the home button and once the download mode closes then press the "volume up key and power key and also the home button and then your phone will automatically reboot into recovery.
I know, I tried that multiple times but it doesn't work. Blackscreen... only a never ending blackscreen. The download mode is the only thing taht works. I have to flahs the old boot logo via download mode... but i don't know how
Wait for the battery to be drained out completely and then do what i said earlier

I really need someone who is able to integrate the stock boot logo into a custom rom which can be flashed via Odin... Or I need a tool which allows to install zips in download mode. I tried adb sideload again but it didn't recognizes my phone when its not in recovery.

I only tried to flash stock firmware with AP in Odin... and I tried stock rom with re-partition.
Where do I get those 4 files? I need XEU for my SM-G928F. It would be very nice if you could give me a more detailed instruction for this because I never worked with PIT...
get samfirm v0.3.6
On the model you put sm-g928f, region XEU, tick the binary nature box and press "check update". Download the resulting file, that is a factory firmware to do repairs in a 4 files format: bootloader, pda or ap, modem or cp and csc!
You will get this file:
SM-G928F_1_20180305151001_nsg8uwd0sh_fac.zip
Put each file in the correct field in odin!
About combination firmware, it needs to be same binary version as stock firmware already programed on phone! if first number on firmware version is a 3, combination FW need to be also bin 3!
G928FXXS4CRB4 if is 4, you need comb fw also in bin 4! if you downgrade you get odin error and a softbrick!
Was checking if any comb. fw is available, but i find only paid files for your phone model!

Pit file is always inside csc file on a 4 files fac firmware. Use the pit on firmware because the pit from your link can be from a early version of android and have different bits for partition sizes!
EDIT: Here, got the combination fw for the binary 4. IF your phone is already ok, don't use this!

I know but Samsung removed this feature some months ago so I'm not able to do this
--- I know, it's from the German Samsung Support but it's a confirmation that Samsung removed this feature:

I have the same problem on my j2 prime I can only goto download mode and in odin tried to install stock firmware but got write fail..can you please help me with this error
I was using a custom OREO rom, and i tried to install another country's stock firmware (CYV) which had android OREO. Now my sim is not recognised, I am trying to flash the original stock of my carrier(COS) (Which had android 7) firmware but odin fails, and device shows SYSTEM REV. CHECK DEVICE 1 BINARY 0.
I can only use ODIN to flash the new (CYP) firmware.
Also after installing the CYP firmware it added on the boot a line Protected by knox which did not exist before, please I have tried everything? Is my phone bricked for good?
Hi , try this:
1. Download your stock firmware Android 7 if you have it skip this step
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=22DB920E54E011E89F15FA163EE8F90B
2. Once you download your firmware use 7-zip and rename end of firmware name tar.md5 to .tar and extract to desktop just recovery.img .
3. Now use 7-zip and recovery.img to archive recovery.tar .
4. Open Odin , click on AP and add recovery.tar , put your device in Download mode and flash with odin .
5. If you successfully flashed recovery just reflash after that full firmware .
If that problem is still there try DBT version .
