My ZW2 has never been able to take an OTA update. I have, so far, been manually updating by sideloading with ADB. It's paired to a HTC One M8 and I checked that all the various services are up to date, but I get "downloading" followed by "something went wrong". I've tried it with just the BT connection and with wifi. It just refuses to download the update.
Also, so far only people here seem to have been posting the update zips. Is there an official repository for these updates anywhere?
Thanks!
Note: the watch is bone stock with nothing touched. It's not even bootloader unlocked.
Solved - turned out to be a firewall issue
So, I figured out that it was my phone's firewall causing the problem. I had the Zenwatch manager app blocked. I failed to realize that the phone depended on a local app to download updates.

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone has a suggestion.
I used the All-In-One tool to root my tablet S months ago, and received constant notificationst hat an OTA update was available. So I used the All-in-one tool to disable the notifications.
This morning I changed my region from Australia to US using the All-in one-tool and re-enabled notifications to see if it would receive the ICS update, but when I went to Settings-About-System Update, it goes straight to "Failed to download the update. Check your network connection and try again". I am connected to a Wi-Fi connection and the itnernet is working.
I then restored my original region settings using the all-in-one tool, but I still get the same message. Previously it said that an update was not available.
Any ideas?
I didn't root my tablet so I can't help you solve the OTA issue, but may I suggest following condi's guide here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515720
PS: theres also the full OTA downloadable in that thread.
Thanks for the reply. I looked at the guide, but a lot of people seem to be bricked after trying to follow it. So I decided to wait a bit.
The issue seems to have resolved itself now. Perhaps the server was down?
As the title says, I have no data from my home WiFi or 4G from the cell signal, despite them being shown as connected.
I noticed it just a few minutes ago. I was looking into Voodoo RootKeeper because I haven't updated to the latest OTA update and I've been wanting to soon, it was mentioned that SuperUser should be fully updated for it to work. While looking through SU settings, I noticed the option to set SU as a system app, so I did it. It rebooted and just before finishing the boot it had a message saying something about configuring apps (similar to what you would see after an update, I believe). Once it finished I was going to update some apps that needed updating and Play said it had no connection, checked Chrome and it was the same story. So here I am.
It is rooted, also has an unlocked bootloader (which is why I've waited so long to do the OTA). I haven't updated since I got it at the beginning of December last year, so the current version I'm running is 4.1.1
Any help is really extremely appreciated; my smartphone becomes a dumb phone without any networking, dumb phones make me sad :crying:
Edit: I fixed it, somehow. I temp-unrooted with Voodoo, tried to complete the OTA update (failed because of recovery or something), re-enabled root after update, and then I had data back. Leaving this post here in case someone comes across a similar problem.
I am having an issue with updating via OTA with Verizon. The OTA update came out a couple of weeks ago but I never received notice. When I went to search for it I got an error message, no matter where I was or whether it was on 3g, 4g or wifi. The message states "service unavailable". My service is working fine and I can use the internet without any issues. I called Verizon and they didn't know what was causing it but they did confirm I have an update available. I have powered off, taken out the battery cleared cache, tried to update manually with ODIN (which failed) and have come to my wits end. I am trying to avoid factory resetting the device and having to wait for all my apps to be reinstalled. I have rooted several devices before but don't want to do that this time.
Does anyone have a suggestion to help me accept the OTA from Verizon? Again, I am locked and unrooted running everything stock.
Thanks for your help!
Hello all, I'm having a slight problem, I noticed that AT&T keeps trying to roll-out a new software update, however, my Galaxy S6 Active will download it fine, and then when trying to install the update I get prompted with the message "The install cannot be completed".
I thought at first this must be due to an application that I had disabled, but unfortunately it was not the case as I enabled every blocked app, and yet I still got the same error.
8 files still remain disabled even though I tell Debloater to "unblock" all and they include the following (I have tried countless times to enable these files with no luck):
ContainerAgent2.apk
EmergencyLauncher.apk
KnoxBBCProvider.apk
KnoxKeyguard.apk
KnoxShortcuts.apk
KnoxSwitcher.apk
KnoxTrustAgent.apk
KnoxVerifier.apk
I even performed a hard factory data reset, and these apps still remained blocked. I just want to be able to receive OTA software updates. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks.
Install the original firmware via Odin.

Hi,
Have you found a solution? what you have to able to OTA update works?
tks!
I am having some issues with the G9 I am working with. I have root using the latest Magisk. But every time a "security update" installs and reboots the phone, I lose root. So I go back into fastboot and reflash the boot img. That solves the problem. But it is a minor nuisance I am trying to workaround. I have tried searching for days, trying to figure out how to STOP system updates. I installed a root service disabler and disabled a few different services.
I still cannot seem to figure out what service is downloading updates. I have already gone into Developer Options and disabled automatic updates. And there was an update waiting that I kept paused. Last night I got the popup reminding me about it. And it was supposed to "remind me later". But instead installed it in the middle of the night.
I could care less about opinions on whether or not to allow updates. I would just like to know what service or file I need to cripple to get it to stop. I want to decide if or when something runs on my phone. Any ideas? Android 9.
And you will lose root after update, it's normal

If you are using a G9, not a G9 Pro, could you please link me to the stuff to root it?
