Hey guys,
first of all this site gives me some good solutions installing custom roms and other things. I hope you have a good solution.
I got an Iphone 7 Plus clone from a friend in exchange with an old windows phone. I know this aren't the best phones but I thought a good rom can make a big difference.
The first Problem is the clone itself: itshows me a mt6582 Hardware?, Android 4.2.2 and thats it.
My idea: Install a good clean Android on this smartphone. Is this possible?
Dear Phipsi
Look on Google I've seen it someplace but don't have access how to port media Tek Roms you can probably find root with KingRoot

Hi
I assume that you have already rooted ur device by now.
First you need to port TWRP or Philz recovery to flash roms
U can use Mtk droid tools to make a backup of ur stock ROM (unless u have a backup or stock ROM is made available from the company) and then port a custom recovery.
Mtk droid tools makes a CWM recovery however TWRP is preferred for flashing most custom ROMs.
MT6582 roms have been build for quite some time now and I usually refer to MTKROMS.com to port roms for my MT6592 device
Same can be used for ur device as well.
Hopefully this should be helpful

Thanks for your reply.
I tried it (kingroot seemed to work, but MTK droid tool still can't root the phone).
So although I can't even click on the button to install a cmw. How do I install it through the programm?
Maybe there is a step by step tutorial?

We a huge number of people use this phone Please someone make the ROM Android KitKat 4.4 or heigher
almost impossible except a miracle, rather u l need to request mediatek to release kitkat supporting kernel for the processor in these phones
Finally, Android 4.4 KitKat is available for MediaTek MT6589 chipset
There is many reason why Android 4.4 KitKat did not come to our Android device, because, some device that running with mediaTek chipset did not provide appropriate upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat.
Finally, there is domestic smartphone manufacturer has successfully upgrade their system to Android 4.4 KitKat using CyanogenMod 10.2, and now the device that using MediaTek MT6589/MT6589T is capable to using higher version of Android.
Some people in XDA Developer forum has been built the Custom ROM based on CyanogenMod 11 that targeting for device which powered by MediaTek MT6589 processor, and now they ready to update their Android to KitKat.
Here is Installation guide, taken from XDA Developer Forum:
- Install new CWM linked in this thread (for installation see in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show….php?t=2440304 ) – if you Do not have it yet, make sure you backup recovery.img
- Make a backup with CWM – you will want to go back to stock, don’t blame me if you don’t have a backup!!!
- Copy the cm_stairway-otaXYZ.zip to the phone and flash the zip with CWM
- Copy the gapps to Phone and install the ZIP (see: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps – this is CM11)
- Wipe

Don't install any custom ROM that was not SPECIFICALLY designed for your specific phone. You will end up with a brick. And it may be a hard brick meaning you will need to buy a new phone. Don't do it! You've been warned.

So what are my options? Give up or is there something I can do. Can i extract the stock ROM from my phone then edit it to create a custom ROM? and How would i create a custom ROM with the same UI but a later android version? If its not out there can it be created?

Yes if it's not out there it can indeed be created. But there's a huge, steep learning curve and you'll need all the right tools and resources. You can search on Googly for tut9rials and discussions about porting ROMs.
If you're motivated, check-out the thread for Alcatel Pixi 3 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3193624
You can search through it for creating/porting of custom ROMs. There are some posts on there with links to various tutorials and resources. Plus you'll find some of the brave people who engage in that activity. You can befriend them and ask for their help.

hey all-
I have a device that is based on aml8726 soc A9 cpu with Gpu quad core Mali 400, 8 gb flash ram, and1 gb rom,
I found a ROM for another device that has the same hardware. I tried to flash the new ROM in recovery but it errors out w/ "ro.build.date.utc" error. Can someone help me with what may be needed to get the rom working on my device? Can the build.prop be edited to make it work? any thoughts?
Thanks
Hi all! Is it possible to flash the smartphone with the firmware of other vendor? For example, this Acer has CPU Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 and Samsung galaxy Grand 2 also has this CPU, GPU is also the same Adreno 305. I suppose something may not work, but what i have to do to flash this firmware for at least to boot? Acer is rooted, CWM is installed. What the issues could I have for flashing and booting?
The second option is to build Cyanogenmod custom firmware.
Any help is welcome
Flashing anything not made for your device will likely brick it. So that's not a good idea. :good:
It would be easier to build your own CyanogenMod than it would be to try to get a Samsung rom to boot on another device.
not possible

Hy! Sorry for my bad english. I tried to port a MIUI7 from the ZTE V5 RedBull (from original miui page) rom and the system is booted up but the wifi, the sound, BT, rotation doesnt worked (not hard to fix, but the miui rom had a security by the original developer so if I modify something in system, I got a popup after restart that this is a pirate version of this rom :S
Thank you for replies!

I also have an E600 Here is everything what need:
First you need a stock E600 flashable zip rom. You can do this with dsixda kitchen from the system and boot image.
Download the ZTE RedBull MIUI rom: http://en.miui.com/download-243.html
Rom porting how-to: http://en.miui.com/thread-70745-1-1.html (do every step except the boot.img editing)
Then comes the boot.img
1. Unpack the e600 and the zte boot image with Android Image Kitchen
2. Open the split_img folder in the unpacked E600 boot image, copy and overwrite everything except the boot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz to the ZTE unpacked boot split_img folder.
3. Repack the ZTE boot image
Reboot the phone to cwm, install the ported zip to phone then flash the modified ZTE boot.img
any update on the custom rom?
have the issues fixed?
thanks.

Your biggest issue is that your device doesn't run an official version of Android. It runs a hacked together version meant for Chinese people. Meaning alot of code was hacked together to add the monitoring software that is required as well as using hacked together drivers. It's part of the reason clones have issues with GPS and other wireless connections.
So in the end you won't find anything for a clone really.
