I had bricked my LG OPTIMUS T P509 earlier and was stuck in a never ending loop of LG boot.
Eventually realized i had a bricked phone.
Decided to play around and found KDZ Updater.
After much research and googleing i found the kdz file for the LG OPTIMUS P509 and was able to flash the phone back to Stock again.
It will recovery in Android Recovery 3E and you just do a battery pull and it will boot again.
Will take awhile to boot up but after it does your phone is back with everything stock.
Strangely nothing was erased keeping all my apps intact.
Only downfall, root was lost.
can you direct me to that kdz file or settings. have bricked p509. Now not responding at all'
I can't find kdz anywhere.
Anyone have a link?
I just bricked my LG Optimus P509 T as well Can someone please point me in the right direction to revert back to 100% stock?

Thanks! I had downloaded another version of the translated KDZ program, but I've been unable to have it recognize my bricked Optimus T in "Emergency Mode"
Also I downloaded a original stock ROM from Australia as there are no T-Mobile USA ones available for the LGP509; unless I've missed something?
Let me give this one a try... Thanks!

No luck. The KDZ program crashes the second I try and have it recognize the phone. Using Windows 7 here. Should I try XP?

Manually boot the device into emergency mode before you try to use KDZ. To enter emergency mode, turn off your phone and hold the following three buttons:
Back + Volume Up + Power
You should get a yellow screen that says "Emergency Mode"
Once you get there try to see if your phone is detected by your computer. Let me know how it goes
I am just wondering if I need to shake the device
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You can try that if KDZ can't flash the file correctly. But I thought your phone couldn't be detected
I was trying to install a custom ROM and did not know I needed an unlocked bootloader, as I used ROMs on a S4 without doing any extra work.
Anyway, so when I attempted that, my Optimus L9 rebooted and gave me the LG logo with the "Security Error" words below it. It's stuck on that now. I tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool, but it gets stuck on downloading new software. The progress bar disappears quickly, so I'm sure it's not downloading.
I tried leaving it to download for around 45 minutes, but it was stuck on the same screen when I came back, with no progress bar. It can't be that it's taking long, I have decent Internet (150/75). I'm afraid of leaving it for hours as the device does heat up.
Is there ANYTHING I can do? I tried calling LG and the woman who was there to help me was rude and treated me like an idiot, only to give me the solution of sending it in. PLEASE help me!!

It's always best to include your device model when asking questions like this. There are four models of the L9 and the all have different quirks.
A factory hard-reset or use the 'Recovery' option in the LG Support tool. Only things I can think of at the moment with a lack of details.
Did you back anything up? If not, not much else to do other than try what I've suggested.
This post may also be of some interest.
Advice::
Never assume anything. Research is your friend I had an LG Optimus One, was easy to mod, root, etc. I bought this L9 ( P769 ) on the assumption that it would be similar. Boy was I wrong. However, I did the research before attempting to do anything with the L9.

I really regret doing what I did :crying:. It's definitely a huge lesson for me.
My model: LG Optimus L9 MS769 (back cover says P769?)
If a factory hard-reset means holding the home button, voIume UP button, and power button, then I already did that but I did not reach the robot.
In the LG support tool, after I enter S/W upgrade mode, it says the software version is V10D and that there is an upgrade available. When I start the upgrade, it goes through the first step but when I get to the second step, it doesn't download I think. I have an image but I can't link to it since I have under 10 posts.

Their network is horribly slow. I've heard of people waiting 2 hours. In addition the tool appears to freeze. However, it's still operating.
I don't prefer this method because of the time.
Learn how to use the unofficial fastboot & offline flash.
Or just keep waiting for that program to finish.

So it's normal? The reason I thought otherwise was because when I searched, I saw 0 people with the stuck/long download issue and figured it was just me. I didn't want to risk my device even further as I am aware that it has been soft-bricked, so there is a little hope available. Should I let it sit for 3-4 hours and let it over-heat?
I attempted the fastboot method but my device was not showing under the Devices section. I do not have a "Other Devices" section when I get to the step.
I am trying the offline flash method now, although I can't find a working V10D KDZ.

As in LG Support Tool? No I don't think it will since your phone has been altered with unofficial methods. I could be wrong tho.
Just realized something else strange, IMHO, my P769 came with Android 4.1.2 ( JellyBean ) and you say you were on stock ICS?
Just out of curiosity was it a WalMart purchase? They're still advertised as having ICS 4.0.4. Last update I got was to from V20G to V20H which is what I'm on now.

I mean that in order for the KDZ flash to work you must do some edits in the host file so that you can do the offline fix, I did it but it won't work as the tool crashes while connecting to the device.
My device also came with 4.1.2. It did not come with ICS. But when I open the support tool it says V10D. I bought my L9 from an official MetroPCS store

Yep. Hurry up and right click on it before it disappears and select "Update Driver". You need to manually point Device Manager to the usb_driver folder in the fastboot tools folder. You may have to do that a couple times. If successful, unplug USB from device wait a couple seconds and plug back in. This will reinstall the drivers just in case they didn't take the first time.

I got fastboot to work!!! I got the inverted screen and all. Now the problem is that I can't flash the phone . I keep trying a KDZ I downloaded. The supporter tool provided in the zip keeps trying to connect to the phone, the UpTest one loads the new Support Tool and it crashes, and the KDZ UPD tool gets stuck on unpacking KDZ and says no phone found.

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help. I originally was attempting to root my phone following this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277639. I was able to use the software update tool several times to flash to V20B and V20D. After a few tries, I read on the authors forum to flash to v10g as I was having some issues (got the CWM L9 Recovery tool installed, and after booting to it, got stuck on encrypting). So I flashed down to v10g. After that, phone wouldn't boot. So have attempted to use the upgrade tool to flash back to V20D or B and have tried following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344. Even though I can get the S/W Upgrade screen, the software upgrade tool keeps stopping at 15% and tells me the cellphone is not connected. Even though I had gotten it to work before at this same method, I re-installed the drivers and even tried the whole process on a 2nd computer with no luck. I'm guessing the downgrade to v10g is the cause of the issues I'm having, but do not have any idea at this point how to fix it. I have spent hours searching the forums, but have not found a solution yet, so any help or links to posts that could help would be appreciated.
I have the P769.
And if you happen to know why I get stuck on encrypting after using and rebooting from L9 recovery tool, that would be an added bonus. (found it, looks like it was busybox x, will try when I get phone back up).
I have tried on computer running Win 7 64 bit and Win 8 64 bit.
Thanks!

I followed your directions. It seems like we have made progress but am still having issues. It did install some updated drivers, and with the online LG support Tool, seems to find the connection, but stops due to an error at 15%. I also noticed that the screen goes black on my phone and S/W upgrade is no longer displayed. Don't know if there is a timeout were it does this or it is shutting off because of the update process and not coming back on.

I do not see that option. Let me confirm that we are running the B2CAppSetup (LG Mobile Support Tool) and not the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin (R&D Test Tool) program at this point.
Nvm, it looks like with the update, even running the R&D Test Tool, it takes you to the LG Mobile Support tool which will crash if you have it blocked. Same results when not blocked, stops at 15%.

Still stops at 15%. I have also tried running fastboot. I get about halfway, but when it comes to the part to reconnect to the phone, it just hangs.
Well, using fastboot, I have got the LG tool to now progress past the analysis part and get to the actual update part, but now stops at 15% there. Progress, but am at a loss at what to try at this point.
To sum up, phone will not boot at this point. Can get to S/W upgrade mode on phone. Phone stops at 15% at update portion.
I have tried the offline and online update methods, along with fastboot (get through the entire steps on the computer, but at end screen shows LG logo with fastboot in corner, don't know if this is normal).
I have tried a few more solutions to no success. Luckily, my phone was still under warranty with T-Mobile for about 2 weeks, so sent it in since it wouldn't turn on (unless you did S/W upgrade mode). Hopefully, they wont notice why. Thank you for your suggestions Bojo.

Hello Everyone,
I have a questions and hopefully some one can help me out here. My son has bricked my phone and I believe it is a soft brick... could be wrong. However, I need to find away too unbrick it.
I can get into hard reset with out issues. however with everything I do, I can't get into recovery what's so ever. The phone just hangs at the loading screen. I have talked to my son in order to find out what he did and this is exactly what he told me
He installed king root and attempted to replace-kinguser-with-supersu. However when he installed the application, it asked to reboot the phone. Well he rebooted the phone and now it is stuck at the loading screen and wont go any further than that. He also told me that he did not remove kingroot prior too the reboot. Please help! as I need my phone for work.
I am out of options on what too do. I would post the guide he used but I am limited due too the spamming regulations of the board.
Any one have an idea on how to unsoft brick this phone? I am all out of options as the only two options I have are hard boot and download mode.

According to the good people here on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/qa-metro-pcs-lg-k7-lgms330-t3331678 there is only a paid solution at the moment.
http://lg-firmware-rom.com/download...330-dll-for-lg-up-unbrick-lg-k330-with-lg-up/
if it is a lg k7 k330 (tmo) i followed this guide http://www.repairshopusa.com/phone/lg-k7-k330-unbrick-method/
Thank you for the information. However the lgup application does not recognize my phone. Indicates that the model is "Unknown"
Guess i am out of luck lol
Not uncommon. Sometimes you need to unplug and replug the device back in or close and reopen the program.
Thank you for the information. Does the USB debugging option need to be enabled because if it does, I don't think it is as the my computer does not recognize my device at all. Under computer, it shows as k7. However when I got into the device manager it indicated "LGE Android MTP device".
No. USB Debugging only works while booted into the system or recovery. You must be in Download Mode for the LG Up tool.
At this time, I am really frustrated as nothing is currently working at this time. Possibly because the phone just went under a hard reset. I have changed the port too 41 and ran the flash tool and that was not able too pick up my phone either. Also, I can't seem to get the lgup to work correctly as it's still not working correctly.
I have uninstalled the applications belonging too lg, rebooted and then reinstalled them and I still get the same thing. I have attached screen shots below. lgup does indicate the firmware I need, however I can't get too it lol

If I remember right, you have to make it search for *.kdz otherwise it's looking for .tot files, which is why it's probably not seeing the firmware you need.

Yes you are correct. However the file that I have downloaded from the link below doesn't actually provide you with a kdz file. The file provided you the files that have been extracted from the kdz file, which are the (LGK330.dz) file
Ah, weird. Never worked on an LG that didn't use .tot, .kdz, or .bin files. I guess just search for *.dz and it should load according to the link the other guy put up.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295 donwload uppercut and lgup from here. unzip the uppercut, run it, if it gives you an error that it cant find it in users...roaming bla bla, just copy uppercut in the folder the program wants and it will run fine. then after pluging your device in, open uppercut, select your kdz file and chose upgrade not forbish or fota upgrade or something. i however had the h85020a variant of the firmware. there is 10c and 10e or something. anyway, if u know thats your model just go for it as i said earlier.
