Provisioning - Sprint LG G3

Can someone help me understand provisioning for this phone? If I flash a custom ROM the Update PRL / Update Profile buttons are missing. I also tried ##MSL# and that doesn't do anything. I'm trying to update my settings so that the phone works with Ringplus. Is there some trick?

You will get a better response and answer in the Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING section.
I would suggest reverting back to stock to activate your phone with Ringplus and then flashing to the newest Rom/kernel.
I think I have seen your post in a few Android N roms so be sure to flash the correct GApps(Arm and 7.1.1) and the ZVC Modem just to be sure.

all stock Sprint/Boost roms should give you the settings back....those settings seem to be added either by LG or Sprint...so it would be neigh impossible to add them to AOSP/CM roms

I am in the same boat. But your case might be different. You can try:
Carrier Reset:
##72786# (##SCRTN#)
or *#*#72786#*#*
If that doesn't work, do Factory reset from Recovery. If you use TWRP, default is wipe = factory reset. After that reboot and wait 5-10min for update. I think it will kick off only if your phone idle during that time. This seems to work if I flashed 7.1 ROM
Hope it helps.

[Q] [Help][Stock AT&T 2.3.4 Build 4.5.91]No network after *#*#4636#*#* > USA Band
Hi guys! Plz help.
I have AT&T Motorola Atrix 4G. Its SIM Unlocked and Bootloader Unlocked as well.
System version: 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US
Android version: 2.3.4
I am using this mobile phone in India and had no problem at all with 2G and 3G networks.
Today I was going through *#*#4636#*#* > Phone Information > Menu > Select radio band > and selected USA Band accidentally. Thereafter I have no GSM network. I tried manual searching of networks and did a Erase data/factory reset in CWM recovery but had no luck. I tried to restore an earlier backup also but due to MD5 Sum Mismatch error I couldn't do it.
Please help me getting my mobile working again. Is there something which can reset radio frequencies of the phone? Any idea what should I do now?
Thanks you so much for your help.
Hey there!
I had same issue a while ago and didn't have unlocked bootloader back then.
I simply re-flashed stock firmware from this thread and everything worked fine. If you do this then make sure you chose right one (For you first one should be right), If you downgrade to 2.2.x you will hard brick your device. Just keep that in mind.
By the way now I'm using [CM7 ROM][24/12] --> Neutrino ROM 1.4-S <-- [53mb] and there in settings you can choose whatever band you like unlike in stock AT&T firmware from *#*#4636#*#* you can chose only USA Band. There must be other roms what support this feature too.
I'm sure there are other ways to fix this issue but this is from my expierence.
Good luck!
PS I did that in first week when I had Atrix and it was my first android device. I managed to fix it, I'm sure you will fix it too

Hi mm166,
Thank you so much for your reply and I do think a re-flash only can fix my mobile. Since I have Bootloader Unlocked so I think I can't use SBF method to flash stock 2.3.4 and I can only go for fruitcakes. I am now downloading ATT 2.3.4 Build 4.5.91 fruitcake and I hope it will fix my mobile
I am woundering if flashing ATT radio .91 from following link will reset the files responsible for holding network settings and can fix my mobile ... but I am not sure so can't go for it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009
Update:
I just flashed "2.3.4 System and Boot NO Webtop (Updated Newest Script)" fruitcake after Clear Data/Cache/Factory Reset but still no network
I think I have lost my mobile just because of accidentally setting to USA Band.
Any help please!!!!!
Well, I'm still newbie on Android devices. I'm not very long with Android device but I'll try give you few advices. Keep in mind that I could be somewhere wrong:
I think new script: [Batch/Script] MFBSR - Moto-Fastboot: Stock Restore could help. Worth trying. Fruitcake didn't restore everything.
I used RSD SBF flash and I think it doesn't matter if bootloader is unlocked or not (maybe someone could confirm that?) if you flash same firmware but that's somewhat risky (better don't try this). But I did that and everything worked great.
Other way to fix network issue could be flashing custom rom. For example this. I added screenshot from settings. Edit: No, I think I'm wrong. That's not right thing.
Solved!!!
Hi mm166, thank you so much for your reply
Before reading your message I did a trick and it worked for me. I just flashed ATT Basband/Radio N_01.77.36P FruitCake through Rom Racer's CWM and after reboot my phone was able to find network as it should be
Since my phone's BL was unlocked so I was not supposed to try SBF flashing to prevent it from hard brick. And, just flashing Stock ROM FruitCake was not resetting its radio settings i guess ... and flashing particularly above mentioned radio files just replaced the older one and once again my Atrix started to breath
I hope this may work for other guys too who are facing same kinda problem of not getting network after accidentally setting the radio to USA Band. But a Full Wipe/Factory Rest/Data/Cash/Dalvik Cache Wipe is needed.

Using latest NuSenseSIX-MAX ROM, Won't stay connected to LTE

After trying several ROMs that would not connect to VZWs LTE network (Cyanogenmod, LiquidSmooth), I decided to go for a stock-ish ROM: NuSenseSIX-MAX which is an HTC One port. It installed without a hitch and says its on LTE but then after about 10 minutes, switches to 3G and won't go back to LTE unless I reboot the phone, and after 10 minutes, back to 3G. I installed the latest firmware and baseband (1.02.01.0207) so that isnt the issue. Anyone experience this? Have any ideas?

Any luck finding a fix? I am having the same issue.
You guys need to flash a stock recovery and perform a factory reset with the stock recovery installed.
Many aosp roms corrupt the NV radio partitions and nothing will fix that except stock recovery.
So back up anything important on the device, grab the stock recovery, load it up.
Then either from hboot, or rom settings menu, or from stock recovery (exclamation point/phone image/volume up+power to get menu) factory reset.
That will fix the NV radio partition that corrupt.
Then you can reflash a custom recovery and set back up your rom.
This is the only true fix for this issue.
Yes RUU will fix it too because it does the factory reset with stock recovery as well, but that's not necessary, just having the latest firmware, stock recovery and doing the reset is all it takes. :good:
Same rule applies on the m7 and m8 as well...

Tried this - no love.
Steps done: Flashed stock recovery, chose factory reset from modified hboot, flashed custom recovery and PA 4.6 ROM.

Number one cause of the problem: Aosp roms
First thing you went and installed after fixing the issue: Aosp rom
I've been having network issues as well for a couple of months now. I think it's actually a Verizon issue as I just got a certified replacement device that's having the same problems as my old device. The issue seem to have coincided with the latest update/as well as Verizon's switch to xlte for certain phones. My signal strength/bars is a lot weaker than before. I also have a lot of drops to 3g and 1x in a 4g area that seems to have trouble switching back to 4g. When I called to report the issues/get a replacement device they said that they are aware that many DNA users have been having issues since the latest update. Hopefully we get another update to fix these issues. Also I've never loaded anything aosp on this device. Just stock and viper.

I had this issue for a very long time. Couldn't stay connected to 4G to save my life. But as Santod said, you need the stock recovery and stock hboot, then do a factory reset from hboot. I have been connected to 4G for the last 3 days since I fixed this prob. Now waiting for my new sim tray. I actually RUU'd to stock 3.06 and still had little to no 4G. Factory reset and instantly connected to 4G. Gave it a whole 24hrs, no issues or disconnects, then weaksauce and firewater. Now back on Viper and I haven't seen 3G or 1X for 3 days and counting. Hope it helps.

Ok, so I flashed stock recovery and stock hboot and did a factory reset from hboot - however my previous rom still loads... shouldnt the factory reset delete the rom? I'm not sure how to verify the factory reset worked.

Factory reset only erases /data (without wiping /data/media) /cache and resets NV partition.

[Q] No mobile network after flashing roms

Would like some help. I have flashed CM 11 and can't make calls. It says mobile network not available. Tried flashing AOKP rom as well and same thing. Mobile data works fine, although i have gotten a popup twice that says 'Google Play Services not supported by your device, please contact your manufacturer' (no noticible issues from this, google stuff i've tried so far works). I have included a screenshot so you can see my baseband and rom version, etc.
Now, i had a great deal of trouble getting a rom flashed to start with, CWM put me into a bootloop and TWRP wouldn't flash anything because it said it couldn't mount /storage when i tried. Used Philz advanced CWM (love it btw, will be using it from now on). Still wouldnt flash the hltespr specific CM11 version so had to use the unified hlte version (it gave me the status 7 asserts issue, but editing the asserts out just gave me a bad file error when flashing). I wiped data/cache/dalvik between each flashing. I don't know if any of that would have bearing on this problem, just including any details i can. Any advice?

Have you upgraded your bootloader to NH7? I know most of the newly-updated CM-based ROMs require you to be on NH7 before flashing. That's most-likely why you weren't able to flash the htlespr ROMs. The unified ROMs no longer include the correct APNs for Sprint, so that's why you don't get service on it. I don't know why mobile data works on it.

No, didnt realize that i needed to do that. I'll do some research on it because i don't have any idea how to update the bootloader. If you have a link to a good tutorial that would be wonderful! Thanks!
Ok so i tried that, found this tutorial, followed it, no luck. Tried full wipe/reset after that to see if it would let me install the hltespr versions, still no dice. Same situation, mobile data works, calls don't. Will have to wait till daylight to try texting so i don't wake anyone up but i suspect that texting won't work either. Has anyone experienced this and fixed it? Lol i really didn't drop $100 on a phone to be saddled with all the Samsung and Sprint baloney that it comes with, don't wanna unroot....
Bump
Anyone have ideas on this? Have continued to try fooling around with the udater-script file to resolve the status 7 problem so I can install the hltespr variant, still no dice. Please someone help!

Sorry, I typically don't have access to XDA forums on the weekend, so couldn't answer your question till now.
You flashed only the baseband/modem, not the Bootloader. If you want to update the Bootloader, you need to use ODIN to flash the Complete OTA NH7 Update.
In order to update the Bootloader, you need to make sure that you use the PC ODIN (not the mobile one) and that you completely power off the phone before you enter download mode (don't access download mode by using the extended power menu when shutting down the phone). I don't think you need to do the battery pull that Freeza had in his instructions (I didn't do it when I ODIN-flashed the NH7 OTA update), but it wouldn't hurt to do it.
Thanks for that, I will try it as soon as I get home tonight! The next thing I had decided to try was to unroot, to back to stock, then try flashing that before I start with the custom recovery and ROM. Do you think I should do that first before doing the whole thing or could that work just flashing that with my phone as-is?

Well, I always recommend a full wipe (data, system, cache, dalvik) when flashing ROMs. I haven't wiped my internal storage or external storage since I got the phone, so that's not really necessary.
I don't think that unrooting your current ROM is necessary. Flashing the ODIN OTA update will automatically remove root access, so that's not an issue. Here's the steps I took when I updated to NH7 and installed my current ROM (see my sig):
Make a Nandroid backup.
I always do this just so I have a "record" of what I left behind. It also allows me to have all of my app data that I can restore via Titanium Backup (you have to buy the Pro version in order to restore specific apps from a Nandroid backup). I always store a copy on my ext. storage and on dropbox.
Do a full wipe
As I mentioned above, I always wipe data, system, and the caches when flashing ROMs. While I have to take some time to get the new ROM exactly as I like it, it minimizes any potential FCs and errors that some people get when dirty flashing.
Install NH7 all-in-one via ODIN
I installed the NH7 via ODIN. Please note that this is the fully stock, unrooted ROM and will also install the stock recovery.
Let the phone boot and connect to Sprint. Update Profile and PRL.
I do this periodically whenever I go back to stock (from AOSP). I rarely have connection issues, but updating the PRL an profile can help with those.
Install a custom recovery using ODIN.
My recovery of choice is TWRP, but others have found just as much success with CWM and Philz. Just make sure that you're installing the correct version of the recovery (4.4.X version, not the 4.2.X version). I always reboot to the main system after installing a recovery, but that's up to you. In the rest of this post, I'll say "TWRP," but I really mean "custom recovery."
[OPTIONAL] Make a Nandroid backup of the stock ROM
I always do this, but I recognize that it's not necessary, especially since we can just ODIN back to this image at any time. I just like having the option of having a stock backup on the device (in case catastrophe strikes while I'm away from a computer).
Use TWRP to flash your AOSP ROM of choice.
If you haven't installed any apps or messed around with the settings, you shouldn't have to wipe before flashing, but (in case you haven't noticed by now), I tend to err on the side of caution, specifically: wiping everything (data, system, and the caches) before I flash anything.
Set up the ROM how you like it and [OPTIONAL] make one last Nandroid Backup
Whenever I set up a new ROM to the exact way I like it (statusbar settings, accounts set up, apps installed and configured, etc), I make a nandroid backup of my device. This allows me to go back to that "fresh" image whenever something happens to the device and I don't have to muddle around fixing those minor tweaks. Again, I tend to err on the side of wiping the phone too often and taking too many backups, but I've rarely had issues with my phone and ROMs because of it (to the point where I can spend most of my XDA time helping others with their phones), so it might be prudent to follow the advice.
Anyways, that's how I upgraded to NH7 and installed a custom ROM. Others may take a less conservative approach and you're welcome to adjust any of the optional steps.
Hope this helps!

OK, did all that successfully, when it went back to stock stiil had the same issue. Mobile data functions, mobile network for calls/SMS doesn't. Did the whole update prl/profile and even tried reactivating from settings, still nothing. Was able to install custom recovery (Philz) and the hltespr CM11 variant instead of the unified generic version. Still has the same problem, mobile network not available. Everything else works perfectly. I did verify in settings that it still wound up as the NH7 after everything I did. Note I did a full reset before each thing that got flashed in this process, and one more for good measure after. Let it boot to the system between steps too.
Lol I've been rooting and switching between ROMs for years and have never encountered anything like this. I'm stumped....

Sprint, I've had big red before but when they did away with unlimited data it wasn't worth paying their high rates.

Anyone have any ideas on this? I am just confounded as to why this continues even after being reset to stock.
Same Issue!!!
I have the exact same issue and have been trying to resolve it for the last 2 days... Did you find a solution?
I have the same problem on a Samsung Mega. LTE and 3G data work but phone won't dial if LTE is active. It WILL voice dial if only 3G is active. Sprint. CM11.
I had this problem after flashing ROMs as well, but went into Settings>Connections>More Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and selected LTE/CDMA....no network had been selected. That fixed me right up. Weird part is, I could still avcess the web without WiFi....but couldn't make calls or ise my bluetooth headset until I had performed the above steps. Hope that helps.
thanks forget the little things reset wifi and sprint cell extender

Network Disabled

Hello all.
I tried a rom (Barepops) coming from stock KK. Then i restored back after testing LP and my network is borked. It will detect network, show red x, then refresh icon... Repeat.
I tried flashing a zv4 radio zip and it is still the same.
I am using gsm and it was working fine. Now it says network disabeled. Please help.
Ps. Is there a way to tell if i lost carrier unlock?
Thanks

It depends which BarePop was last.
TE has the right rpm,tz partitions.
If another, or stock I think, then flash the ZV4/6 rpm,tz partitions. They're in each of those threads. Posts 2, 3or 4.
Also, the modems aren't backwards compatible. So if on ZV8, it should work with any lollipop ROM.
If KK, then flash, or restore the ZV4/6 modem with TWRP.
The rpm,tz partitions will work with any ROM. But we seem to have less issues with the ZV4/6 rpm,tz partitions.
Thank you for replying!
I used V1. I read about the ZV4/6 rpm,tz partitions and used twrp to flash. Nothing.
Do yo believe that i probably lost the carrier unlock status? Any way i can check that?
I wil search the forum for a carrier unlock method (unless u know one right off the top of your mind)
Again, thank you.
Did you by a chance use my method? Or the one where you replace the files?
Try updating your profile and prl then type this into your phone app: ##update#
After that download terminal and restart your rild by running the following commands:
su <gets superuser accsess
killall rild <will restart your rild
If you lost your unlock then you will be locked to sprint and won't beable to go to any other carriar.
I followed instructions on op and pages 2 3 and 4. When i tried updating prl is just didn't do anything. All i want now is to get the phone how it was before. I already reverted back to stock kk.. The issue is i believe with the rpm. I am not in the us. (if that matters)
I noticed that the baseband now says uknown.
Should i wipe anything and flash the rpm again?
If you wipe everything try doing this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54442210&postcount=28
I had that issue, I could not get the modem to flash. Using twrp, had to use flash2 method.

Thank you all. It would seem this was an error from my end as i had not flashed zv4 modem as explained.
All good now.

lost VoLTE after restoring stock ROM on T-Mobile (h932)

I was using an AOSP rom for several months but decided to roll back to my stock oreo rom backup in TWRP. Only issue is my VoLTE is not working anymore during calls. I am on Oreo (H93220s) and never updated to stock PIE.
Is there an easy way to flash a modem or something without having to completely start from scratch? I found a 20r modem in one of the T-Mobile threads, but not sure if I should flash that on 20s. Thanks for any help.
Of course verify you have an LTE connection. I am sorry, just making sure
Then try a Network settings reset, if you haven't already: Settings -> General -> Reset -> Network settings reset. Then restart the phone.
If that doesn't work, you could try re-loading IMS settings using the LG Hidden menu: Dial *#546368#*932# using the stock dialer -> Field Test -> IMS Setting -> Test -> Load Preset Configuration -> Initialize Configuration. Then back out twice to Field Test -> IMS Setting -> Test -> Restart IMS process. Give it a few minutes.
If that doesn't work, then I'd say probably some firmware wasn't restored to stock after using the custom ROM. Try flashing @weakNPCdotCom's FullStock.zip from the thread linked below, factory wipe in TWRP. Once you've verified VoLTE works, restore just the data from your TWRP stock backup.
[STOCK] [H932] [20s] [Oreo] T-Mobile LG V30 Stock Collection (Includes Debloated)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/stock-t-mobile-lg-v30-stock-collection-t3917560
Finally, if that doesn't do it either, you may have to perform a genuine Factory Data Reset from the Android Settings menu. This wipes some persistent data which isn't wiped by TWRP nor by Master Reset. It requires stock recovery, so you will lose TWRP. Personally I would perform a full flash of stock 20s using LGUP in Refurbish Mode. This will also ensure that all necessary TMO partitions are flashed.
I suppose you could flash TWRP to your laf partition (as described in the H932 root thread) then flash 20s in Partition DL mode, everything BUT laf. That way you wouldn't have to start over rooting the phone.
My only concern is that H932 is easily disturbed, sometimes with bad consequences. Being kind of OCD, I would probably go nuclear if it came to this, meaning full Partition DL to 10d (to ensure partitions are straightened out), THEN partition DL to 20s, THEN Factory Reset, verify that VoLTE is working. Then you'll have to start over rooting, including temporarily back to 10d again. But that's just me
Once you got it working and are back on 20s, THEN you can restore just the data from your TWRP stock backup. IOW restoring that backup is your last step.
Thanks for the detailed tips. I have tried everything you mentioned so far, up to flashing the fullstock.zip, and unfortunately that still didn't fix it. I had this problem with another LG phone before, and the only way I could get it fixed was flashing a .KDZ, but I know this phone is a lot trickier considering the root method and all.
Am I able to flash a KDZ and not have it flash the LAF partition all over so I don't have to re-root it? Thanks again.
Got it. Yeah you probably need a full firmware flash.
I think I misspoke in my last post: Of course you can't put TWRP on laf and then use LGUP. Duh
I can't really think of a way to do a full flash (incl recovery) without having to start over. I'm sorry.
Maybe there is a way that others can think of. I'm not my sharpest right this moment.
Edit: Just to make sure, you know your account and SIM are provisioned for VoLTE? And you're on TMO, right? H932 doesn't do VoLTE on other carriers (such as AT&T).
Edit2: If you haven't already gone nuclear, and assuming you're on 20s FullStock.zip, you could try flashing TWRP to laf (as previously discussed), then flash stock recovery to recovery -- if you can find stock recovery somewhere, either as an img or zip. Just make sure it's same version (20s). This should allow you to perform a Factory Reset from the Android Settings menu. If that solves VoLTE, you can use your laf-TWRP to put TWRP back on recovery and laf back on laf. (I hope that made sense.)
Again, I would go nuclear, but I can definitely understand if you want to avoid it. There are also risks when rooting H932, in addition to the work.
So I went through the whole process of flashing back to 10d and redoing root. Same issues. Then my wife tells me that T-Mobile is having network issues all over, even my Verizon phone was having calling issues. What a waste of time that caused me. It must have just been coincidence that the same day I start messing with my phone that the whole network goes down! Thanks again for the great suggetions though.
T-Mobile's having huge network issues at the moment.

Aww man, I'm sorry you wasted all this time on nothing. Best I can come up with is congrats on successfully rooting your H932. Again!
