Official Unlocking, does it have time interval? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

What I mean is, say I reverted back to Stock ROM ( which locks bootloader? ) and I just recently unlocked my device. Will it be unlocked immediately or they have cool down lile 1 week before you can unlock again yadda yadda.

You can unlock your device when you need without time limits . If you want to unlock another phone on the same account you must wait 30 days .

Oh yes, that 30 days (cause I heard about it, that's why I made this thread) if you have another phone. Ok now I get it. Thank you!

Is Rooting a loss?

Hey,
What exactly do I loose when I unlock and root my device? Is is a train smash?
Regards,
I... Don't know what a train smash is, but on a typical phone, you lose nothing by rooting.
The Xperia Z2 is somewhat different in that, due to having no root exploits released so far, you must first unlock the bootloader and install a custom kernal in order to root. The process of unlocking wipes all data from the phone. Also, you'll lose your DRM keys, which are (arguably) not important, but will lose access to Sony Unlimited Video and Music, as well as void your warranty (but only if someone bothers to check it extensively, which likely they won't).

Are the DRM keys the only thing that is irreplaceable?
I wouldn't root this phone, as it is by far, my most faulty device I have ever had. Now I got my third device...

No issues here, and I'm on a rather dated firmware too (the .64 if I'm not mistaken).

DRM keys are lost yes. But they don't affect anything like on previous Sony devices. Bootloader unlocked and everything will work just as before.

Thanks guys.
Personally I don't want to root the phone cause the stock ROM is just fine for me. I need some suggestions to get alternatives to root apps like Titanium Backup, etc.

This can happen any time. Just waiting for a Dev to find an exploit.
So tomorrow or maybe never. Who's to say?

If they get the TA Backup thing sorted for the Z2, will that mean that I can go ahead and root then restore to factory as if nothing happened?

[Q] Z2 tablet apps to SD?

Hi im new to the forum so I apologise in advance if this is in the wrong place, its a bit of a maze of information !
Just wondering if theres an easy way to install apps to my SD card ?
Ive had a Google but havent had much luck.
Ive got a fresh 64gb SD card which ive discovered is essentially useless unless I can install apps on it.
I dont use my tablet for storing media so its internal storage is purely taken up with applications, and Ive now reached full capacity.
Ive successfully rooted my device before so im not a complete noob, but after the latest 4.4.4 update ive yet to find a working method to root again.
Would a custom ROM support app to SD if I did manage to root again ?
Any help on making use of this 64gb card in my device would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
"Warning: App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. you can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card". Even link2SD can't do it!
Use Folder Mount app from gp. Working very good. For more then one app you have to use pay version. For rooting, downgrade your firmware using flashtool and root it with easytool ,then flash latest prerooted firmware from General section .Hope I helped ?

Thanks alot for your help, ill try it tonight and report back with results.
Well I managed to downgrade the firmware using the links provided and regain root access. The only problem is I am recieving no 4G coverage from my network provider, just WIFI connection.
Maybe when I re-flash the pre-rooted UK system it will come back as I'm currently running the Norway rom, although language is in English.
One problem though, I'm unsure how to flash the zip file, there are no .FTF images to flash.
I understand I should do this from recovery mode but cannot figure out how.
At least I'm getting somewhere though !
The link was for 511/512 z2 ,not LTE .You need firmwares for 521 model.just search forum for right one

Once again.
1: downgrade to latest rootable firmware for sgp 521 (ftf) and flash it via flashtool
2: root your tablet with easy root tool (this will install custom recovery too)
3: download latest preerooted firmware for sgp 521(zip) and put it on your internal storage
4: boot to recovery holding vol-
5: make backup including TA partition
6: flash downloaded prerooted zip.

Root E2333 currently running 26.1.B.3.91 without impacting camera quality (DRM)?

Hi folks,
I've been trying some root guides here and read all threads I can find but none work.
Any suggestions?
I have a E2333 (16GB / dualsim) currently running 26.1.B.3.91. Want to root it without impacting camera quality (DRM).
Can anyone help me out? Do I need to downgrade first? What should I check/not check in flashtool if downgrade is needed?
Firmwares available are; 26.1.B.1.85 and 26.1.B.3.91.
Huge thanks in advance.
Try root with xperia root kit on .85 firmware, do backup drm, Flash latest firmware, unlock bl, Flash twrp and super su zip file and restore drm... I do this on my E2303 but i dont see worst quality in camera, already is bad

Unlock bootloader q/a.

Hello! I have little question. When i unlock my divice i mean unlock bl and i back to stock rom. I will have ota update? Or nah? And camera will be work good? Or always green photo?
Wysłane z mojego G8342 przy użyciu Tapatalka
I don't know if you'll get OTA updates if you go back to locking the bootloader but you will DEFINITELY have green pictures because when you unlock the bootloader you lose the DRM keys forever.
Also, as a senior member, you are well aware that you shouldn't start q&a threads in this section. There's a dedicated forum for questions.
Soo green photo it's for bad for me... I need full working camera soo i stay on stock rom. Thx for help, and yep bad section. Sorry for this.

If you keep the phone unlocked you can install janjan's root solution and get full functionality of the phone back but it would just have an unlocked bootloader.

I'm sure you've already seen my answer in https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1/help/how-to-root-xperia-xz1-unlock-bootloader-t3814906.
It is still impossible.

Can you guide me to root by UL and still retain the drmkey of sony?
I read about forum posts but I'm not very computer literate.
Thank you.
What you want is impossible, pain and simple. The ONLY way to root the phone is to unlock the bootloader and by doing that you WILL lose the DRM keys. There is no way of backing them up, you just keep it stock or you root, you choose.
Even if you take a second to look at the forum you'll see that the bounty for a root method without unlocking bootloader it losing DRM keys has never been claimed since it can't be achieved.
