So, I know that feature wise Paranoid Android, CyanogenMod, and Carbon have different features allowing you to tweak your phone in different ways. What I've begun wondering lately is outside of features are there any major differences in the way they are created that would be of interest?
I know that CyanogenMod has been the base for many, many roms and features have been added to it in creation of new roms. What I've begun to wonder more recently is besides features what really separates them? Are they mostly CyanogenMod with code needed as required to support new features? or are they tweaked in ways to be different from CyanogenMod in other ways?

I know that, back in the day, PA was based off of CM. Now, most of them including PA, CM and Carbon are based off of AOSP which is just stock Android. In terms of features, Carbon and PAC seem to have the most features including PA's way of changing the DPI on a per app basis.

I did a search, but was not sure of the results. I do not want any LG crap, or added anything. Just Lollipop as on a Nexus. Thanks
To answer/point you in the right direction, look at aosp based roms. CM12 (cyanogenmod) and others are about to pure android as your likely to get. I believe roms labeled 5.1 (android version, not rom version) would be closest to what you are looking for.

try looking around the illusion g+ page. mike made 1, maybe 2, pure builds called aosip, before abandoning the illusion project for the n6 version of aosip.
Hi,
I am now on 5.1.1 stock and ask myself is it worth to update to Android 6 ( Omnirom - AICP - CM)
I have following general questions:
Is Android 6 faster than 5.1.1 ( is Android 6 better for games) ?
Is in Android 6 any feature that is really much better than in Android 5.1.1 ?
How is your battery life with Android 6 (is there any difference) ?
What rom do you like more and why? (AICP,Omnirom,CM)
Thanks for your help.
Mr. Tom
Hello and thank you for using Q/A,
Android 6.0 is much faster than Android 5.1.1. I prefer AICP.

6.0.1 definitely is faster. The doze feature alone is worth the upgrade. And AICP has always been rock solid and polished accross all supported platforms. Now I just cant wait for an overclocking kernel for the manta on 6.0.1.
I know what I'm doing this weekend
It is faster. The battery life is amazing. I'm running OMNI 1206 and after 22hours idle still 100%. Based on GSam it was using 0.1/h. I like Omni because I don't care the extras CM brings. It has enough customization.
I have a similar question... haven't flashed anything since my S2 days, I had a look at the websites and I didn't really see what's the different features between AICP and Omni. CM has an OTA update option, right? Does either of these have something similar? And is either one more stable, or contains/doesn't contain any annoying bugs/glitches?
Taking pictures with camera with flash does not work on 6.0.1. Otherwise no other bugs are found. I believe AICP 6.x is running nightly builds with OTA, Omni is homebuilds and not nightly yet. I don't think there is a CM 6.x for manta yet.
Have been wondering this myself.
Been using Rastapop 5.1.1 for a couple of months, the performance has been top notch and the battery life and stability are incredible as well. Is 6.0.1 really that big of an upgrade? I already great amazing standby times with Rastapop, my tab stays on for weeks.
Might try out Omni (don't care much for customizations anymore) someday but for now I'm perfectly happy with Rastapop.

Wondering the same. Had a rather botched ROM from back in October. Think I'll try Omni now.
Oh just want to mention that after now starting to use Omni, it has the Pixel C nav buttons, which some think are a plus. I, on the other hand, thought it was botched after install. I don't think I can get used to new nav bar layouts after years of everything being in the middle.
(The Pixel C's nav buttons has back and home squashed into the left and the recents completely on the right. Which makes sense i guess if you are holding the tablet by its sides with your hands. However it would mean you can't reach anything else in the middle of the screen/without some difficulty/)
is ok to to update omni rom 5.1.1 nightly to 6.0 nightly via the built in updater

Will check them out. Thanks
Does double tap to wake work with AICP or CM13? I have installed AICP but I cannot find the setting anywhere.
Thanks

I don't think the nexus 10 has the right sensors to use doze.

David Hayes made a Youtube-Video about: CM 13 on Nexus 10
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MogmBvpXWRY
He gave me an answer about different roms for the Nexus 10:
As to AICP and Omnirom I an running AICP on my beast as the DD. I love Omni but I have to have my theme engine so that is the only reason I don't run it. I have tested it though and it is rock solid. If you are not that into themes and just like is bare back then Omni is a no brainer..lol. It's a great rom.
Now as dir AICP, it is running smooth as silk and my Manta hadn't felt this good in a long time. The only thing that would round this all out would be if DU built a MM build for our tablet. Now that would be a tough choice for me.
Hey dudes,
i´m interested in buying a nexus 9 lte.
I want to buy the n9, because it has a lte modem and custom roms.
But i can not decide if a rom supports also the lte version.
Can anyone help me to find a lte supported custom rom?
I know cyanogenmod supports it.
But i miss a little fit set of features in cm, so i´m looking for cm based roms.
the most important feature i miss on cm is the fast unlock from lockscreen.
I also think about to compile my own version of a custom rom.
So like, i use the cm lte sources and the additional sources from a supported rom, but i have no idea if this could work.
Also i think about to implement the drivers for lte. But i think this is not all i have to do.
Can anyone help me and give me some tipps.
thx a lot.

There doesn't seem to be too many roms available for the LTE version of the N9. Personally I've been using Purenexus which runs very smooth.

Hi guys,
I trust you are doing well!
I was just wondering, I mean, I know CM is very popular among the droid community, but the AOSP does still rank up there and tbh it's my favourite. I was hoping by now to see a couple of iterations of that amazing rom, but unfortunately the only one I saw was by MrColdbird and it seems to be a project that has been discontinued. So, I was wondering is there any reason no dev are working on the AOSP and is there any hope of seeing a proper iteration of that rom released for our beast the RN3 SD?
There are a few AOSP in roms in there they have the tag [AOSP]
I am using Krexus, it's AOSP based and really working well. Also there is slim 6.
