Side bezels - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I want to repair my screen I bought on eBay a screen with assembly frame, so I didn't have to tape the screen to the frame myself.
Unfortunately the side bezels are missing on the longest sides (see photo). I can't find the side bezels for the Tablet Z Does anybody got experience with this? Where can I buy them? Or can I simply dissemble them from the old frame?
Please let me know, else the only option I see is to return the screen and buy a new one without the assembly frame... Thanks in advance .

[Q] Protector for cracked screen

I recently dropped my Note and developed some pretty significant spider-cracks on the screen (learned my lesson about cases/protectors).
I can't afford the screen replacement price at the moment (repeatedly quoted almost $300!), so in the meantime I'm interested in getting a protector to prevent further damage, avoid swiping my finger across broken glass, and perhaps reduce the glare on the cracks themselves.
Does anyone have any advice regarding which screen protector would be best for my situation? I get the impression a dry-application protector is best, but I'm unclear about what material is best for such a screen or whether a matte protector would indeed help with glare. I'm also unsure given the deluge of products which brand has the best price/value ratio, given that I will likely have to buy a brand new protector when I finally replace the screen.
I am using a Moshi iVisor AG Screen protector I picked up from the local AT&T corporate store. It was $25 and its reusable and is thicker than most without losing sensitivity. I would recommend it for your situation because it would definitely protect your fingers from shards of glass and the fact that you can wash it with dawn and some water and reapply after letting it air dry means you could reuse it once you get the screen replaced. I would post a link but I'm a new member. Good luck.

[Q] Camera Glas Cover Problem

So the problem is, that the body design of the hox+ (like older HTCs phones), has one major issue: When you put it on a flat surface i. e. table face up, it lays on two points: The first is somewhere down besides the loudspeaker, which is ok, but the second is the camera ring and/ or the camera glas (?) cover. I know there is already a thread regarding the material(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128442&highlight=camera+cover) , of which the cover is made of, but nobody was really sure about that. Because of this issue, i had to send in my device some weeks ago, because the scratches on the cover influenced the picture quality heavily ( bloom-effect ; there are some threads too) . In the end the phone is still getting repaired (status: "waiting for parts".:crying and im thinking about how to solve the problem for the future. I´m no smartphone- rapist, just the opposite thing and it was bought on 10th January, so i was really wondering: why the hell are so many and so fast scratches on the camera glas cover? Would it be meaningful to cut a display glas foil to the size of the camera objective?? In the matrial-thread, somebody was talking about a special "anti glare coating" so maybe you could polish the lense lets say every 4th month with a appropriate polish spray ??? I have always used a bumper to protect the phone, but nevertheless the scratches came! So what to do? And of course this is not a single problem, i suppose, so this increases the importance of this thread/question....
For the camera have you try to take off your bumper and shoot...cause some bumper is bad and it affects the camera when you shoot while using the lights..
The glass if you scared to scratch it...just use the scren protector and cut round until it fits...
The scratch camera glass I think is not affect picture quality accept if you colour the glass with ink..hahha joking
Hope it helps

No I think you didn´t understand the problem of the camera bloom effect: The special anti glare coating is damaged and this causes photos with a lot of bloom, unclearness and bad colours, because the chip is not able to choose the right parameters for "white balances" and other different adjustments, that usually are set automatically. The bumper should only show, how I care about my phone....
I was looking at a faint scratch on the glass cover and I noticed that it moved. As in the whole thing, within the outer ring, as if it was mounted on some sort of suspension, Is it possible the glass lens protrudes slightly from the outer ring, making it a point of contact as opposed to the outer plastic ring? Just a thought.
Have you take out the bumper or back cover what ever you call it...and try to shoot...is your phone custom rom or
Stock...
My first bumper having issue...the right one is the whole have to be big

Hi, it´s repaired now, and im going to cut a suitable cover. Of course I have taken of the bumper off?? are you really talking about a kind of this http://www.amazon.de/Exklusiv-Cad-S...8O/ref=sr_1_26?ie=UTF8&qid=1362481786&sr=8-26 ???

[Q] Which is the best adhesive tape for replacing and attaching a new screen?

Hello!
My Samsung Galaxy S2 screen broke and today I received the new screen and it didn't include a tape for attaching the screen perfectly.
The adhesive tape the screen has does not cover the corners and I believe I might run into problems if the screen is not properly attach to corners
Can someone help me find on ebay the best tape which will let me put the S2 screen perfectly to it's place?
I am currently writing from a sgs2 whose screen I replaced personally. After a month or so of thinking, I decided not to use any adhesive other than the one which is already on the screen. Although the screen can go up and down initially (we're talking about half a mm, and only on the right side) , after a night under some books or with some pressure on it it settles, until unless you push firmly on the sides of the screen, you won't be able to tell the difference from a brand new one.
My advice is: get some double sided strong vhb adhesive on amazon or eBay and put it on the upper left side of the screen, between the secondary camera and the screen, and on the upper right side if there is none left ( if there's some leave it, it'll do its job just fine, and it is nearly impossible to remove) Remove any other adhesive, peel off the protective films and apply the screen (careful about the home key and the speaker grill).
Remember to clean the whole surface with alcohol from dust, and the hole where the camera will go, I didn't and dust remained. You can't see it on the pics, but it pisses me off badly!

[Q] Sony Fitted Screen Protector

I bought an "EasyAcc" case from Amazon, to protect my XTZ, but instead of protecting it, it has actually caused some scratches on the bezel, right next to the camera lens. It seems to have been caused by the coarse material used to stitch the "leather" case together.
So, I complained to the seller through amazon, and they have informed me that there is a pre-fitted screen protector on the XTZ, which I should peel off. They suggest that the scratches are only on the protector. But I have had a go at trying to remove the screen protector, but I don't believe there is one on there.
Now, the seller did say that it was very hard to see/ remove, but I am still not convinced there is one.
Can anyone shed some light as to whether there is a particularly tough screen protector fitted when you buy the XTZ?! I really dont want to keep picking away at the edge of the screen through fear of doing so damage myself!
Thanks

Yes its there, recommend you dont remove. I bought a screen protector of amazon not knowing, lol. Do yourself a favor and buy the official sonyncase. Its the best case in my opinion. Was using the poetic case but stopped using it. I believe using a poetic case eventually damages the display. You can fit the tablet into the case without bending it, lol. I started to notice stuck and dead pixels popping up

Have a look at this thread here, and the you-tube video link in post #2 (if the link still works).
I've removed my anti-shatter film, but the benefit is minimal (slightly smoother touch) and it has been said that that doing this will void your warranty.
thanks for the responses guys. appreciate it :good:
