Hi everyone I've been trying to check out some Samsung Galaxy Centura ROMs and I know there are some cool ones on Android Area 51 but this whole week it the site seems to have been down. Does anyone know whats going one?
Same story here. Been trying to get on since December. I've been looking for that ARC1.3.zip - if anyone has it I'd appreciate it. That's all I need.
edit: I just got it through a direct link in the Idiot's Guide to rooting centura PDF
So...does anyone actually know what has become of Androidarea51 ??
I've been trying to access that site for some time now and it always fails to load.
Not sure what happened at AA51. They are the reason I got into Android and modding. They covered a lot of the lower-end devices.
In any event, if anyone needs files for the devices I worked on or kept for one reason or another I have files for Lg Optimus Fuel L34C, Lg Optimus Q/Net, ZTE Roamer/Merrit, Samsung Galaxy Proclaim/Illusion, Samsung Galaxy Core Prime/Prevail LTE, and I may still have some files for ST Galaxy S3. (which uses Verizon ROMs and recoveries)
Hit me up if you need anything for these devices.

Thanks for replying RealWelder.
For me AA51 -and- the LG L34C together were what made for a great turning point in my own Android adventures.
I needed a decent low-end device for wifi uses only - and the L34C went on sales for $5 & $10 & I was lucky enough to grab a couple.
If I'd known how good those little phones really were, I'd have gotten 1/2 dozen of them while they were so cheap & still wish I could find a few more to buy cheaply someplace, really !!
Best Wishes.

I still have a fuel, but my daughter plays her games on it. Lol. If you are interested in modding your fuels out I got some cool stuff I could share. I've been modding my Tab3, I've went through it and made all the text appearances and icons colorable via color pickers and a RomControl app.
Check out tdunham's Unified TouchWiz mods thread. It is mostly for Samsung's but a lot of the mods are "self-sufficient" so they should work on any device.

My couple of those were slightly modded with the AA51 ROM so as to be rooted & de-krapified.
They get used as terrific MP3 players & GPS units.
If I ever come across a couple more I'll look into making more mods.
For actual cellular uses my favourites are the Kyocera Hydro Icon & the LG Volt - both of which cost around $20 & really satisfy all my phone type needs - also rooted & de-krapified, of course.
There's Android stuff I want to use on the bigger screen - that is my present desire, and I'm hoping for that purpose that Anbox matures quickly.
I know there are other ways to do this, but that one looks most promising for Linux users right now.
Thanks and Best Wishes.
End of the golden age of Android
So sad. First Cyanogenmod site gone, now this. Android hobbyists were edged out by the new compiling method of LP (among other things) and seemed to be a slippery slope of grass-roots support for the platform. Large swaths of the xda forums have become ghost towns.
Not sure if your still trying to find arc1.3 but if my mind serves me correctly I may have it saved to either my laptop or one of my flash drives. I will have to look for it because I had all the aa51 roms for the galaxy Centura as I still have one floating around somewhere with a busted outer glass running arc.

Uploading you a zip right now, I'll post when finished.
It has cwm, twrp, root, return to stock, meid fix, and cwm loop fix. [DO NOT factory reset from Settings, or you'll have to flash loop fix(stock recovery) and then reflash your custom recovery.]
Here you go.

Is there any way you could uploaded me a copy of TWRP or whatever custom recovery you have for the Centura? I have a buddy needing the recovery.
Update: I got ahold of a cwm for it. It works but doesn't mount all partitions correctly...is this what you have also?

Yep, type this in your browser ftp://asburycctv.mooo.com/
These are all the area51 centura files i have ever downloaded.... not sure how long i will have these shared publicly, so download and repost (say from google drive, or something), as soon as you get to it.
Thanks and good luck!
Was hoping there would be some more recent Centura development myself, bummer all online sources seem to be gone :/

I have stuff for the fuel, but not sure about the zone 2. Is it l40c? I've read before that they were the same device, but just on a different carrier (Verizon instead of ST) but idk if they have same bootloader signature. The images had to be "bumped" in order to pass bootloader. You could try, but it would be at your own risk. If you do, share the results so I'll know if they work on it.

I have one on the same condition. There's no fix unfortunately. The bootloader has been tripped.

I bought an M730W about a month ago from geeks. It came with 2.3.4 on it. I searched high and low to find the ICS for it since I'd seen that the same model is out and comes with it installed. I finally contacted Geeks to see if they could get me in touch with the manufacturer. They had no contact info. Finally after digging around I noticed something with the name of the US based company that hold the patent rights to it. I then dug more and got their number and while I was on hold I found their site. At this address (mymidpad dot com forward slash Downloads_M730Flash dot html) iwas was able to obtain a good manual and the updated firmware. Inside the installer it comes with PhoenixUSBPro, an IMG file and a key. During the install it said it was installing drivers to my laptop but I can not find them when I connect my tablet. The only way that I can apply the update is to have my M730W connected to my machine in a way that it's recognized. The only way for me to do so now is to connect as a USB storage device which does me no good when it comes to using the included software and firmware for updating. So my question is, does anyone know what I can do to resolve this issue?
Hey Tod. I also have the m730w. ICS is definitely available for the tablet but theres a catch. Since its a tablet(a generic one at that) you have to use a program for your pc called Live Suite which is primarily used for the ainovo tablets but can be used with any generic tablet. I cant do it right now but most likely tonight, ill post the links and the information on how to upgrade to ics. im currently running 4.0.3 flawlessly and much faster and smoother than GB. and i have full root which i can also show you how to do. just let me know

I don't have just the rom. What I've got is the package that can be downloaded from their site. I don't have enough posts in to put an external link in my posts here. I'd try using a different browser and going to the URL I cheated into my OP. Just replace "dot" with "." and "slash" with "/". The software doesn't install the drivers properly on Vista though so you will want to be aware of that.
Any other word??? I want to update my neice's if at all possible.
Wow, here are the instructions! Good luck!

Bump.
I have searched this exhaustively! I still don't know what ROM to download or how to boot into recovery mode. The guy above who posted about Live Suite? Haven't heard back from him. I downloaded that, but without the ROM, I don't see the point in even setting it up. I'm not particular about which ROM, as long as it's newer than the one on here, preferable CM7 or newer, but beggars can't be choosers emmirite??!!

LOL. Hi there. Nope. Not a damn thing have I done with mine. It is sitting on my desk. I let my son play Minecraft on it on long rides, and I use it as backup for my phones camera. I know it could be so much smoother, but is being crippled by it's OS. If I could ficgure out how to boot it into recovery I might risk bricking it with a questionable ROM. But I can't find the ROM OR the means by which to boot into recovery. In truth though, I mainly got it to patootz with. I'm more of a laptop kind of guy anyway.

If you don't know, there's no chance any of us ever will. Someone got this for free at some promotion and handed it off to me, so I'm out absolutely nothing. Just a bummer there isn't more to do with it. You'd think that all these POS tablets would just share the same mainboard and proc, so that some standard JB rom would work for all of them. The screen is terrible and it registers touches so poorly that many games are just unplayable. But, if I give it to one of my nieces or nephews, I'll be a hero!
Thanks though!

Yes you will be a hero. I'm sure there are generic ROMS that would work with this. A) I have no idea where they would be. and B) I don't know how to flash them. If I found one I suspected was close, I might try to ODIN it on there.
Try this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343531
Hello all. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I recently got my girlfriend a zte overture on aio wireless. I've been looking at a method to root this phone and have found nothing. The phone is pretty decent, not even looking for a custom ROM (yet), just need root to bypass the Google hangout video call WiFi restriction, and to get wifitether working for her.
I understand that their isn't much demand for ROMs and what not for that phone. But with aio wireless going nation wide and the phone being only 150 bucks with semi nice specs and 4g, figured something's would start popping up for this phone.
Anyway any advice and help will be greatly appreciated.

ZTE Overture z995 - root method from other ZTE's?
I tried the Lumina 620 last week with Aio, and while the phone hardware was awesome the Windows Phone 8 OS was my hangup - (cmon guys, cant even add custom notification sounds? No system file explorer? The HERE maps are 2 years old or more in my area too...).
So I went back to Aio and got the ZTE Overture (Z995). (LTE Rocks! Wow I like the speed and coverage in DFW!)
It's a nice phone - low on memory, but it allows you to remove facebook with no issues, and the build on it is not too junked up.
Can anyone tell or theorize on whether other ZTE root methods work on this phone? I'd love to put a hosts file ad block on it...
Model: Z995
Android Ver: 4.1.2
Baseband: Z995T01
Kernel: 3.4.0-svn5856 [email protected]
I have seen statements that ZTE doe not have a locked bootloader. I noticed in my phone settings, in system updates, it even has options for "Storage card updates" and the "Update ZTE Software" option seems to try to open a zip file on the SD card... so does that mean you could put SU in a zip file and just ask the phone to apply the zip to get root? I doubt it's that simple, but I thought I would ask...
I've tried using google translate on baidu to see if anything came up but man, it's tough to navigate that site if you don't speak Chinese...
Oh - This phone is $79 at Aio. I also asked what happens to us Aio folks when AT&T shuts Aio down to merge it with Cricket in the coming months and got blank stares... (we should be OK, they'll just move us into Cricket I assume. They people at the Aio store might not be so lucky.)
Haven't heard anything about a merge with cricket. Aio just went national about a month ago so that would be strange.
Anyway, I'm still searching for an answer to get root on that phone.
Want to bypass the need to be on WiFi for hangouts, which needs root to achieve.
I'll be sure to post if I find anything

Do a quick Google for "att cricket aio", you'll see the blogs and news about it... Who knows - maybe if ATT shutters AIO we can get an unlock code early for free.
(hey just a thought does AIO stand for "ATT's Independent Operator"? And would that be ironic, or an oxymoron? )
I must be tired, I've started making bad jokes....

I haven't found anything yet. It must not be an extremely popular phone based on the low quantity of hits I get looking around the net for info on it.
Which is weird because I really like it. I got over 5 days of life and was still at 30% when I plugged it in last week, which is awesome (less than 10 minutes talk time on it however). I wasnt sure how much battery life an LTE connection would take but it doesent appear to be much in standby.
I do see references to a ZTE blade and rooting them, and that thread (I think its in xda somewhere) stated all ZTE phones have unlocked bootloaders... and there are threads about the 990 (the Overture is the 995) being unlocked. But until I see someone play with their 995 I am not assuming ZTE left it unlocked. It is a phone on the ATT network so I would expect them to be less customer friendly. (qualification: they dont like you monkeying with their phones as much, but the customer service is tons better than a straight-talk type provider for sure)
I am just hoping I'll run across a post stating how to root it someday. LTE is awesome speeds, but it still burns me up to have to spend some of my bandwidth on video ads on youtube. Especially for something I would never buy and they show the same commercial over and over and over...
-=RB
I also read that zte devices where all unlocked. But if my memory serves correctly, the guide on how to root zte devices found on xDA was for android 2.3.
Surprised that nothing has appeared for the phone. It was a cheap decent price with lte capabilities. Thought more people would be using it.
When I get a chance to tinker with the phone I will.

But this looks promising
Tried oneclickroot with no success. It did recognize the device it just would not root.

Well I tried that Root Method and it seem to work fine and its pretty easy. Installed super user seems to be working fine the only thing that i am having toruble with is getting the wifi tether to work (im using WiFi tether- TrevE Mod) got it installed and all but when i turn it on it gives me a message tethering started with errors to go to the show log.. I do that and in the show logg everything looks fine except a section named "Enabling NAT rules..." that says failed any suggestions????
Never played much with wifi tethering but usb tethering works. I used foxfi free, however they cut off at bout 45 mb then ya need to restart it. Tried a few others with lil success so far. Gota like AIOs tethering policy, or lack of.
Good to know this will root, cept now I get to figure out why it wouldnt for me. You used oneclickroot? Did you install the drivers manually?
Yes I did install the drivers manually I was having trouble at first for some reason it would get stuck on on of the processes but finally got it. I the only thing is that im having toruble trying to tethering i dont know why have not tried the usb method might try that dont know if i would be abel to used it with my playstaion.. thats the main reason i was trying to tether..
Any was I was reading that that the erros message that it gave me in my show log.. (Enabling NAT rules... Failed) had something to do with the kernel not supporting wifi tether that i would have to flash a different kernel in the phone any suggestions??

so, what actually works?
Ok, just so I read the thread correctly, the one click root site DID work for getting root, but the other referenced thread talking about rooting the blade has not been proven to work on the 995/overture, correct?
One click pops up frequently in my searches for root, but I thought it involved downloading a windows app and paying $30 to some unknown website. If that is true then I'll wait till another method is posted. I won't risk running an app unless I know what it is really doing to both my phone and my PC. And I am certainly not forking out $30 for it.
It seems risky and, well, not in the spirit of xda... I mean isn't it more about learning how it all works, discovering how to do it on your own, and working with fellow xda'ers to develop and vet a good (transparent) process for root?
If one click works well and you don't mind the cost and not knowing what their software is really doing, then that's ok. There's no right or wrong here in my opinion.
I just don't see it as being as much fun or as safe a way to get to root...

Well then I guess the reviews on their forum were incorrect then... When I looked thru their blog there were comments stating it asked for $$ at some point. Aside from that there were tons of complaints about unsupported phones... And maybe one or two happy posts out of 20 bad ones.
I'll give it a closer look then. I know I can sandbox the application in a VM, so maybe I can get a backup of the phone before I play with it w/o using clockwork as well.
Will post what I find... Thanks!
OK, who actually got oneclick to work? And has anyone used the blade thread sucessfully?
Also, if you read the legalese when installing it, it clearly states the payment for service must be made to a canadian recovery company, and that you release all rights, etc etc. I did notice any legalese on privacy was missing, which I expected to see. There is a license tab with a space for activation codes as well. (i.e. it's definitely a paid app, but trying to find out how much is difficult, its not on their website anywhere.)
And I can verify the oneclickroot tries to see the device (goes thru identify, validate, download, install), but always throws up a "Please confirm your device is connected - install ADB manually" box. ADB Driver links bounce you to the ZTE news page that has a link for an older "ZTE 3G adb driver download" which gives you a file - "ZTE_Android USB_Driver_For_Microsoft_PC.rar". And after installing that, I still don't have any luck getting the solution to work.
I suspect those first few "steps" in oneclick root are bogus as well, because if you don't have any phone connected and start the process, it still goes through the "Identify, validate, download, install" steps.
For the phone, I noticed that while I can choose from several different options for connections in settings (Charge Only, USB Mass Storage, Install Driver, Connect to PC Software, Media Device (MTP), and Camera (PTP) ) several of those options show a failure in windows for the "Android" driver. That said, I have no problem using or connecting to the phone as a media device, camera, or mass storage device, so I'm not sure what the "Android" device driver that keeps failing is supposed to be for. Maybe that's what is preventing oneclickroot from going further, but I have no way to tell at this point.
So I would recommend at this point to stay away from it. Overpriced, does not work (even though it attempts to appear it is doing something), and privacy concerns are not addressed in their legalese, as well as we still have no idea what their executable is actually doing to the phone or the windows host, and they wont clearly state what it costs.

There may be an app blocking mobile hotspot like tmobile puts on there phones. Seems unlikely since AIO told me they had no problems with tethering but never know. Pick up an uninstaller from the play store an look through all the apps.
Only other suggestion i can think of right now is trying the different wifi tethering apps available.
Maybe one of these days we will get a dev in here making custom ROMS, can only hope. :fingers-crossed:
This may be something http://androidforums.com/force-4g-lte-all-things-root/702172-wifi-tether.html
Would try it myself but don't have it yet. Or access to the phone i was setting up. (that woman was crazy)

Thanks NomadSpin im going to try the uninstaller but what kind of app. would I be looking for that would block the wifi tether??
Hey everyone!
I couple of days ago I bought this phone from alibaba.com because I got a good price for it and the specs where decent, atleast for the price.
So far, it's a great phone. It has one bug though which is that sometimes, not always, the volume will go from mute to FULL and force itself to stay there. Like if you were to try and lower the volume, either via the phone menu, or with the side buttons, it would go back up.
This is kind anoying, and these spasms lasts for maximum 30 seconds, ie after 30 seconds you can normally turn the volume down.
But overall, good phone, would've been better if it wasnt doing that. Anyways, to my question.
I want to install Cyanogen mod on this phone. That is the reason why I made this thread, to ask for help/informationg regarding this process, wether its possible or not.
Here are some information I took from the "about phone" window;
Model Number: N3
Android Version: 4.3.0
Baseband Version: N3XXUAMDK
Kernel Version: 3.4.5-526212 [email protected]#1 tue aPR 23 23:00:57 kst 2013
Build number: N3_V1.0_V01_2013
SELinux Status: Enforcing
For specifications phonewise visit this link; turns out I cannot post links yet, but just google "No.1 N3" and their main page will pop out and there are the specs. (I have the 1gb version btw, on their page it costs 199 i think)
So, is this possible? I feel like if this is some kind of software failure, installing cyanogen/or any other rom might fix it.
Also, if it isnt going to fix it, I'd still want my phone to have cyanogen if possible.
Thanks in advance everyone!
issues
Just got this phone in the mail....looks identical to note 3 butttt ...it just isn't connecting to my mobile network. Very frustrating
Radio frequencies are correct etc. I'm on Telus network, I did get a connection for 2 mins and then gone.
On the manufactures website the specs indicate it comes with 4.2 but mine has 4.3. Wondering if the 4.3 is an issue.
The status bars are all grey with a red x above them. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks
Porting cyanogen-mod is possible, but just in the way, that almost nothing is impossible.
There is no cyanogen-mod porting so far for the 6589 phones, so you have to port every driver and everything by hand.
If i were you, i would try to flash the newest no1. n3 rom and look if it runs better.
At my No.1 S6 the last firmware solved always every annoying issues from the beginning.
I haven't found a thread about this phone here yet, so i cant give you a link to the latest firmware.
I saw that needrom.com has a rom for the No. 1 N3 so you who had a problem with your phone could maybe use that.
The volume error has seem to have dissapeared now for some strange reason?
Anyways I'm happy, but I still want more discussion about this phone. It's very good actually.
Thanks to the one posted here.
Also, I have no experience with android development so me porting cyanogen to this phone would not work at all
I think i will get my N3 next week.
Now i'm on my No.1 - S6...

From where did you buy it?
Also, please post here with your thoughts of the phone when you get it!
I buyed it second-hand, originally it came from tinydeal.
Is here a general discussion thread about this phone?
I got mine today, with firmware from 2013-11-18, and the camera-pictures are very noisy.
I guess this is an issue of the camera-drivers.
How are your photos?
So no.1 n3 dont have any custom rom

My camera is good actually, cant complain on that.
I can give you all the files required to get the black boot animation "version", as I contacted customer service and they gave me the files.

I think something will come up though sooner or later for the N3.
So, has anyone mixtured and experimented with this device?
Looking forward to hearing about your devices.

American noob here. XDA Developer Boocy has some interesting info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438752
I received my No.1 N3 (the lower end $179 version as a matter of poverty) with the black boot animation. I believe it shipped with the updated ROM version on http://www.needrom.com/mobile/no-1-n3-2/ . I didn't use Boocy's backup and root tutorial because the cpu name has a T at the end of it (MTK6589T) and this is Android 4.3.0... it seems this phone needs some time on the market before developers see a demand for custom ROMs and we can get a straight forward fix for the GPS issues.
MTK Droid Tools reference in Boocy's post rooted the phone with the superuser button and SuperSu (after spending 8 hours researching why my MTKDroidTools didn't have a root button as seen in some image searches).
As a noob who spent the past 3 days on this phone, MTKDroidTools rooted the phone, but none of the GPS "fixes" or apps I've found work... and GPS is essential for my job. I've researched other custom ROMs but found nothing. I"m stuck at attempting to go back to stock with the needrom.com version posted above (because I didn't know enough about creating and flashing backups until it was too late).
Please link any relevant guides that have helped you in working with this phone. Keep on Google and let the rest of us know when this phone gets the attention it deserves from the developer community! (Thank you developers!)

I've installed the first version of the stock rom from needrom.com... black boot animation. I'm installing the update, which is what I believe came on the phone, black boot animation. I don't think I've seen the white or know where it came from. I'm not sure where the boot animation is stored on the phone, but I'm assuming it is attached to the ROM and when you flash you get a different animation?
I forgot to mention I have MTK Droid Root & Tools v2.5.2... and that in rooting by pressing the SuperUser button, I replaced the HBOOT screen with CWM (when you press volume up, power on, and home screen button during boot). Not sure how I did that, but I'm still trying to figure out where the kernel, rom, and recovery screen and recovery ROM are and which one gets replaced with what. Guides appreciated.
Sorry, if GPS is so important for you, i'm afraid to say you got the wrong phone.
No Fix will make a REAL good GPS, because the antennas are not really good.
With EPO and AGPS on, my phone gets a hot fix in less than 10sec, but navigating with maps is nearly impossible.
Finding satellites inside a car with chromed windows is more than hard.
Nearly all china-phones, but specially the clones have bad gps, and i think they always will.
Better buy a better phone than a cheap samsung galaxy grand or something.

Well, it isn't a dev edition and wasn't rooted when I got it, but I finally got my truesmart. Rooted with framaroot and installed the play store. Will be playing with it for a while and then will get to developing things.

The prerooted "Developer Edition" is like the cake. Glad you finally got it though.
At least it was signed with engineering keys, eh ?
There is no cake. And aren't they all? Lol!

Holy crap, finally. Glad to hear though! I hope you haven't totally given up on the thing yet, as I still use mine daily =P
Well, the Truesmart may not be dead just yet!!
ClearD was one of the Top Developers for the MotoActv and extended its capabilities beyond what most would think possible.
He will surely breathe some needed life back into this device!!!
Yes! Glad you got it ClearD
I was using your work on the MotoActv
Before we mere mortals get too excited, let's see if even ClearD can compile a bootable firmware from whatever sources are available...
Gonna be a while, getting used to it for now. Thank God for button savior though. Lack of back button is annoying as hell. First thing I'm gonna try to do is remap the buttons...

I believe something like that should be in by default, but I probably want more features anyway.
However, I would like to revoke other specials: the back/menu swipes (at least temporarily) as well as status bar always on (expanded desktop in GravityBox).
A fully working ROM with at least 4.3 for BTLE is also something to wish for....
Clear, if you plan on holding onto it for a while I'll hit you up later when I get my hands on more KK source.
Glad to see you finally got your watch. There are still many people who haven't. Checking the kickstarter page reveals Omate keep making promises about posting but then the tracking numbers show they have never shipped.
Perhaps if Omate hadn't diverted kickstarter watches to their commercial enterprises then all backers would now have them.
Hello Mr. ClearD . Greetings from Hong Kong Glad to hear that you have received yours !! I have also just received it last week !
I have been using your Rom for my Motoactv and it is REALLY GREAT !!!!
MOTOACTV is good at running and exercise . But when daily use, i found it is too big .
Therefore , I think OMATE is really the answer for me for daily use. I
I hope you would make a good rom for this good watch. I think Omate is almost there but without a good rom.
And till now, I cant really find a good launcher for Omate
Congratz ClearD for finally receiving the Omate!:highfive:
I still use your ROM for my MotoACTV and it was the best one out there! I REALLY hope you stick around and keep doing what you do! :good:
What version do you have? I have two omates, both 1/8 2100. One got seriously bricked when I tried getting TWRP on it. The other one I haven't dared to do anything with. But I realize I need to patch it for security sake. Have you done that yet? Is it resonably safe afterwards to use with your google account?
I will be following this closely! I have new hopes now! I´ll definetily donate if you start developing for the omate!
Cheers mate! :laugh::victory:

Let's start from the beginning. Tell me what problem you're having, what caused it, and details about the unit you received. I also need to know OS version, what drivers you have, etc. Be detailed where you can.
I'd be willing to bet it can be fixed, even if you have to send it to me to fix it.

That's very kind of you.
I can't remember exactly because it was long ago but this is roughly what happened:
1/8/2100 4th shipping list (received 21st may in Europe)
Then I tried flashing TWRP and I bricked it. It wouldn't even start.
I used SP flash tool to flash my original scatter file on the watch but it is stuck at the boot logo. I have ADB shell and MTKDroid works.
Now after I restored/flashed my backup scatter file with SP Flash Tool It seems stuck at the logo... Waited 10 minutes.. no vibrating...
To be honest I'm more inclined to getting the working Omate patched for security issues than getting this watch to work.
Do me a favor and use your emmc scatter, flash the 0513 firmware from my thread in development. Flash the patch file lk and boot.img with updated twrp.
Also, post the first few entries in your scatter from the backup (preloader, mbr).

I would love to, but I'm on vacation now and don't have access to my backup files. I do have the other working Omate with me. Can I use a backup from that one? They´re most certainly from the same batch since they arrived two weeks apart in may.
Working Omates files as requested:
Preloader http://tempsend.com/CD3063CCBF
MBR http://tempsend.com/1DAEB79D62
Edit:
Ok, tried using the working Omates scatterfile I just created and used your may shipment firmware provided in your dev thread. It now has a new NICE logo, but it's stuck there and boot loops. I'll continue investigating and trying different things.
Hi, folks.
I've got a hard bricked Asus C300. I accidentally flashed the wrong ROM. When I turn it on, I only get a power light, and none of the refresh key combos have worked.
I figure my best option to get this working again is to attempt to flash the NAND with the proper image for the device, but I cannot figure out where I would attach the BusPirate to do so, as there is no enumeration on the NAND chip.
What I can tell you is that it looks a bit like a chip on a stick of RAM... however, it has no solder 'leads' coming from it. There are 4 VERY small dots of solder on each side of the chip, though. They do not appear to be making contact with the NAND in any way. Attached is an image similar to what it looks like.
I've googled around quite a lot, but I can't seem to find any other way to get this repaired, or any documentation on flashing a Sandisk NAND. No one seems to have been stupid enough to have my issue before, which is a real shame!
If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how to get this Chromebook up and running again, I'd be forever grateful!

I'd suggest contacting JohnLewis by email or on his google plus. I was the one that was the original tester for the C300 BIOS builds so he may be of some help as he was going to buspirate my system if it bricked testing his stuff. Sorry to hear it turned out that way, but I can say after it was all done, it was worth the risk.
