Camera issues on my z7 (NX506J). anyone else have these? - ZTE Z7, Z7 Max, Z7 Mini

Hey guys. As you can read in the title its about some problems i ran into when using the camera. Using the official v3.88 rom btw
For example
Video recording
4k records in laggy 15 fps in good light, 11 fps low light
1080p records 24 fps in good light, 11 fps in low light
For 720p its the same as 1080p
Photography
I have focusing issues when using automatic mode on macro and/or close up shots. Camera tries to focus, then focuses beyond the sweet spot (meaning its sharp but it still adjust focus beyond that so it gets blurry again), and then it jumps back to what the focus was before. Happens very rarely that it stops the focus where it should be to get a good picture.
Now for low light and complete dark conditions using the led flash.
The focus issues here here are similar to the previous macro/close up issue.
Example scenario: complete dark room, camera with flash led enabled. Now when i try to take a picture using the shutter button (not onscreen one as this just shoots without attempting to focus at all), the led turns on, camera tries to focus, led turns off after focusing, focusing indicator appears again somehow (orange square), now i press the shutter down completely, it takes the picture and it comes out really blurry as it resets the focus right to where it was at the beginning (thats what similar to the macro shots).
Does anyone of u guys have these problem on the same rom (v3.88)?
Do any Mini and Max users here have similar issues?
If u have time pls try out the things mentioned above (video and photography pls) and post your results if you have the same issues or similar things happening to you.

Anyone?

Guys, pls. Already 170 views and nobody answered. This goes to anyone. Max, mini and normal z7 users. Pls tell me about if u have got camera issues or not on the latest available stock rom on your phone

I'm having the same problems with videorecording, low FPS in low light, like 10-20. Im using Resurrection Remix 7.1.1 though, i dont rememeber if this happened with the stock version i had (3.84). Have you found any fix to this?
Edit: i´ve found a workaround for the low FPS in low light. You have to set the "exposure" setting to -2, it will make the video darker but you will get a stable framerate.

Thank you for responding. Yeah i know its due to exposure being too aggressive while video recording. What about taking pictures in low light (or even in a completely dark room) with led flash on? Does it focus correctly and captures a sharp image or does it kinda reset the focus after led turns off and gives u a blurry result?
And what about 4k video recording. Does it give you stable 30 fps in good light conditions? I know mine didnt.

X10 Camera questions/problems.

Hi,
I'v noticed some potential problems with my camera, and I have a few other questions too to help make me get the best out of the camera. This is all using 2.1 ROM and SE camera app.
1.When my camera autofocuses, sometimes it emits a light 'clicking' noise from the inside. I'm not sure if this is only me, and I want to make sure it's not an oddity.
And about the autofocus, it's terrible sometimes. The autofocus bracket turns red quite a lot, meaning it's not got a lock on focus and sometimes it shoots with the red bracket meaning it's not focused (this happens on touch to shoot mode). Sometimes, it says its focused on something when it isn't. This usually happens when close up, like 15-20 cm away from the object.
2.Image stabilization- is it good or bad? I've noticed camera shots are a bit more grainy with image stabilization on and it takes a bit of time to process the shots too. Does image stabilization make any noticable impact on quality of photos?
3. Metering:Center, spot vs average. Which is the best?
4.How exactly does Macro mode work? I've not seen any noticable difference of pictures using it and normal mode.
5.Is there a way to remove the jpeg compression, or at least reduce it? I think photos could be MUCH better if sony hadn't implemented that.
So those are my questions. Thanks for any help on shedding light to the issue(s)
1. I noticed that click on K750 also, and I think that autofocusing mechanism. And yeah x10 has terrible autofocus, especcialy on macros
2. Image stabilisation is used mostly in night/low light images and it compesates hands shaking when holding camera. It does not do wonders, but it is much easier to take night photo with stabilisation on. Also when its on, pictures are not sharp as they are without stabiliastion.
3. generaly:
average - for landscapes and well lit shots
centre - portaits
spot - macros
4. you cannont autofocus on macro distance(10cm or so) if macro or auto mode isnt turned on
5. only way to reduce JPEG compression is to use vignette aplication with super fine quality (check Camera 360 app also)
one major tip, play with EV always and youll get much better results
cheers mate

28spawn's modded stock camera for 2.1 has somewhat less compressed jpegs and some other improvements. It's in the Themes & Apps section.
I have had a couple of autofocus camera phones now and they have all done the clicking noise during the focusing, so I am guessing that is completely normal. Image stabilization does make the pictures turn out a lot worse, try to avoid using that. And as hibiskus said, the EV controls make a world of difference! Check out this link http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com...xposure-value/ It has some useful information on the EV controls.

Serius Camera Bug on Xiaomi Device

I am mainly a cinematographer and I need a video camera all time with me. Mobile phone does lots of everyday work for me but after I bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, I couldn't use this video camera app -_- if light is little bit low then it will drop the frame. I tried different third party app like google camera, Open camera, Cinema FV-5 and more but same result. Everything is fine but the fps is droping....
Sometimes it was 9/10/15 fps
Btw, If i shoot anything with slow motion then it took constant 30 FPS. but with normal mode no solution... even with front camera. I tried lots of rom but the result is same. Even I tried some different Redmi Note 2, mi4i, Redmi Note 3 Device same thing happened
But, only Camera MX can shoot properly 30 fps. and if I modify the media profile it only affect Camera MX app. All other camera app is not affected. And off course I can see this low fps problem mainly occurred on low light (indoor, car etc...)
I can see some bug report about this issue with some different Xiaomi product from last year but I don't know why Xiaomi didn't took notice. Any Idea how to fix this frame rate drop issue ?
Thank You.
Only media_profiles with 30fps setting and 3rd party apps, like Camera MX, Better Camera, Cinema FV. You must try.
But, with these U lose PDAF focus in camera.
Original app is good, but not for video.. It drops FPS to 15 when low light.. We cant set the constant 30FPS value

Thanks for your reply. I modified media_profiles with 30 fps, even i set minimum fps to 30 but without Camera MX other camera app use 15/12 fps at low light. It always tried to enhance low light image quality, but I don't have any problem with low light but need constant fps. I use google camera, open camera, cinema FV5 but each of them ignoring media_profile minimum fps command.
Any suitable rom with constant fps ?

question about slow mo camera mode?

Every time I try to use it, my camera gets really dark. So I effectively can't use it indoors, even if all the lights are on. Am I missing some setting that's causing this?
Hey mate, its because the slow motion needs lots of light which means the light intake for the camera to process it in a slow motion is much larger than the usual.
so the best advice i can give you is either use it in a outdoor setting or use a flash light or some light source

Red noise in picture in a very dark places (Exynos version)

Hi guys
Ive used my device since it came out and i just noticed there is some red noise in the picture after ive taken a pic using stock camera with auto mode. The problem only happen when it comes to a very dark place without light. No problem on daylight tho
Is there any explaination ? I need some help.
Below is some sample of day and night sample.
Day sample : imgur.com/gallery/tH2sano
Night sample : imgur.com/gallery/X6Dqtq3
Day : There is no problem at all. Ive looked up all of my picture since then till now.
Night : The noise might occur when im in auto mode and in a very dark place. But i can reduce or remove the noise while playing in pro mode or record a video even in auto mode. Is the problem occured because my device or camera is broken or this is just some software render issue ?
Thank you XDA team !
P/S please increase your brightness to the highest to see the noise better
Thank you XDA team !

Question Camera preview lag in night mode

Has anyone else noticed the preview in the camera app goes slow motion when night mode enables?
I've been playing around with the phone and it seems to only be when the little moon icon is visible, focus on the video preview goes to mush aswell as soon as night mode enables.
It’s probably just the low shutter speed which is necessary for low light photos

It's only in the preview, not when pressing the shutter button, though I have found the camera assistant from Galaxy store can help improve some of the sluggishness
The sensor has to be open longer to get in more light for night mode
I was searching for a fix since this April update. i found that clearing the cache from the Camera cleared the preview lag in low light. Reseting the camera settings wasnt enough.

It's the normal behavior of any camera with low shutter speed (in low light condition).
