If you have a S7 Edge, you have to use this thread.
First of all, the credits of the second option from the tutorial below goes to @lirex, he is the one who created this tutorial in the S6 Active forum, I only edited it for the S7. This is only for the AT&T model of the S7, not for international or other models, don't try it cause you might brick your phone! This update hasn't been tested yet, so if you don't like bugs or if you r phone is important for work, don't update to an unreleased version, as there may be some bugs in it, which can cause sudden reboots or battery drains.
Second, English is not my native language. So if I made a mistake, please let me know.
Keep in mind you are updating your phone to an unreleased build. I can't say whether it's stable or not, because the update file has just been found. New update files will be released every now and then, but it is not possible to update from an unreleased build to another unreleased build. Once you're on Nougat and another update appears online, you have to flash back to PI2 and update it again.
If the update or sideload ends up failing, flashing the stock firmware with Odin will resolve this. But just be sure to follow all the instructions, AND ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR PHONE. Your phone will factory reset after the update.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT: Flashing WILL WIPE EVERYTHING SO BACKUP FIRST. (I'm not responsible for anything that goes wrong, but this worked for everybody so far). You can use this regardless of your firmware version. Just make sure to sideload the proper file for your current firmware!
Prerequisites: Before you proceed prepare these necessary things as follows so you will not screw-up your phone:
• Create a back-up with Smart Switch of all your personal data, like: Contacts, Messages, Applications, Pictures and Videos, so that you will not lost it just in-case something might went wrong after the update.
• Make sure that your Galaxy S7 battery is fully charged to ensure stability and to get rid of power failure issues while updating.
• TURN OFF the Reactivation Lock - Go to Settings > PERSONAL > Lock screen and security > Find My Mobile and log in your Samsung Account. Then uncheck the Turn Reactivation lock on. This is only needed if you already turned-it-ON, from which you cannot modify the system when it's turned-ON.
• If you disabled some system bloatware manually or with a third party software, make sure everything is enabled again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 1: Flash via "Apply update from SD card".
1.) Download the firmware packages from the official AT&T Update server to your PC:
To make it easier for everyone, all update files have been uploaded to Google Drive, thanks @siacono.
v2 (G930AUCU2APD1) to v3 (G930AUCS2APE1) update file
v3 (G930AUCS2APE1) to v4 (G930AUCS2APF21) update file
v4 (G930AUCS2APF2) to v5 (G930AUCU2APG1) update file
v5 (G930AUCU2APG1) to v6 (G930AUCS2APH1) update file
v6 (G930AUCS2APH1) to v7 (G930AUCS4API2) update file
v7 (G930AUCS4APK1) to unreleased (G930AUCU4BQA4) update file
Somehow I can't get the links of the v7 (G930AUCS4API2) to v8 (G930AUCS4APJ4) and the v8 (G930AUCS4APJ4) to v9 (G930AUCS4APK1) updates, so you have to update those OTA.
If you prefer downloading them from AT&T's servers, here are the original links: (NOT working anymore)
** You will see SERVER ERROR 403 or ERROR 404: NOT FOUND, that's because you have to use a download manager program like this (it's free), otherwise you won't be able to download those files. **
-> v2 (G930AUCU2APD1) to v3 (G930AUCS2APE1) update file
-> v3 (G930AUCS2APE1) to v4 (G930AUCS2APF21) update file
-> v4 (G930AUCS2APF2) to v5 (G930AUCU2APG1) update file
-> v5 (G930AUCU2APG1) to v6 (G930AUCS2APH1) update file
-> v6 (G930AUCS2APH1) to v7 (G930AUCS4API2) update file
-> v7 (G930AUCS4APK1) to unreleased (G930AUCU4BQA4) update file
Somehow I can't get the links of the v7 (G930AUCS4API2) to v8 (G930AUCS4APJ4) and the v8 (G930AUCS4APJ4) to v9 (G930AUCS4APK1) updates, so you have to update those OTA.
2.) After you download the right update, right mouse click on it, select "Rename" and add ".zip" at the end of it. Then, put it on the root of the SD card. If you have an empty one, use it, just to prevent the SD card will be formatted too.
3.) Reboot the phone into recovery. Turn it off and wait a minute for it to completely turn off. Hold down Volume Up + Home + Power until you see a little Android guy. It will say Applying System Update or something like that possibly, and just let it do it's thing until a menu comes up.
4.) Select "Apply update from SD card". You can scroll using the volume buttons and select using the power button.
5.) Wait patiently. The firmware files over 1 GB can take over 30-40 minutes. It's okay.
6.) The phone will reboot and will hang at AT&T logo. This can take another 10 minutes, just wait until it's done. Now repeat steps 1 to 5 until you're on the latest firmware (Android Nougat, unreleased version).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 2: Flash via "Apply update from ADB".
If the first method somehow doesn't work for you, you can try it using your computer. Prepare a Windows PC, sometimes it doesn't work on a Mac.
1.) Download the firmware packages from the official AT&T Update server to your PC:

4.) Make sure you have ADB and the proper drivers installed on your PC:
-> ADB & Drivers installer
5.) If you're on firmware v7 and you're going for the Nougat update the update file is called "SS-G930AUCS4APK1-to-U4BQA4-UP". Put it in the ADB folder. You can rename it to anything easy to remember like "FIRMWARE".
6.) In the ADB folder, hold SHIFT + right mouse click and choose "Open command window here". Then type the command "adb sideload FIRMWARE" (where FIRMWARE is how you named your file). If you have any problems check the Troubleshooting Tutorial at the end of the post.
7.) Wait patiently. The firmware files over 1 GB can take over 30-40 minutes. It's okay.
8.) The phone will reboot and will hang at AT&T logo. This can take another 10 minutes, just wait until it's done. Now repeat steps 1 to 5 until you're on the latest firmware (Android Nougat, unreleased version).

If you get any errors, please take a look at this forum and scroll down to the Troubleshooting Tutorial, most of the problems are being explained here.
If you still get an error message, paste it in the comments and we'll try to find a resolution .
Jimmy,
Just a quick added piece of info that will make this much easier for most everyone. There doesn't seem to be any reason to mess around with sideloading the file using ADB. I tried it on my S7 Active and screwed it up and had to start all over. Dogg94 said he had issues sideloading as well and all he did was take the file with the firmware and changed the name to have a zip extension. So I changed my file to Firmware.zip and then copied it to my SD Card and then booted into recovery and selected Update from SD Card and selected the Firmware.zip file and it worked perfectly and is currently finishing up. Much much easier process.
1st off, THANKS a ton getting this together, excellent work!!!
Couple questions
This thread is in the "regular" S7, not the Edge thread. Does this make a difference? Just trying making sure there isnt confusion out there
Step 6 - If you're on firmware v8? How do you identify that?

If it's confirmed it can be updated that way, I will rewrite the tutorial. Then the sideloading way will be for people without a SD-card.

I just found out I placed it in the wrong forum. So this thread will be inactive until the regular S7's update URL has been found, I'll make an annoucment in this thread once it is found, so this thread will be of use later. I'll make a new one in the S7 Edge forum right now.

Well all I can tell you is my phone is now sporting Android 7.0 after doing the copy paste Firmware.zip process I outlined from Dogg94. So I would say it works fine. He has had his running this for several days he said without issue.

***** I posted this just in case if anyone out there facing same problem as mine, "NitroCharger.sh not found" *******
Hello Everyone! I've tried to do very first install CM 7 with Neutrino ROM (I was using Blur Custom Rom before), and I did it with Neutrino ROM V2.9GT
the problem is:
I am confused about executing NitroCharger.sh because I don't even find it in /system/etc (on Neutrino 2.9 GT)
I thaugth I have a bad download files, so I tried to download again, but it brings no differences.
so I tried to find it in the older version (Neutrino 2.8 GT) and I tried to find Nitrocharger in the downloaded zip file (yeah, I find it in /system/etc/)
then, I extract only NitroCharger.sh files from Neutrino 2.8 GT then I put it on Neutrino 2.9 GT /system/etc folder (of course I extract the Neutrino 2.9GT.zip before putting NitroCharger.sh in /system/etc folders)
and finally I can feel the amazing experience provided with this ROM!
Here's the step by step :
1. download Neutrino 2.8 ROM (it doesn't matter EE,GT or GT+ because all we need is the NitroCharger.sh files inside it)
2. extract ONLY NitroCharger.sh that we can found in /system/etc to a new folder (it's up to you what you like to named it, but make it easy ex: NeutrinoNew)
3, extract all files from Neutrino 2.9 ROM you've downloaded to the same folder where's NitroCharger.sh that you've extracted on the step #2
4. after that, copy the NitroCharger.sh files to the /system/etc
5. ZIP that Folder! and ready to flash
6. After Flashing using clean or easy install and 1st boot completed, click SuperSU >>> update SuperSU binary
7. open Smanager then go to /system/etc
choose NitroCharger.sh then check the SU boxes
choose RUN
8. done! time to reboot
I don't know how if you'd install 2.8 first then update it to 2.9, maybe NitroCharger.sh files still in /system/etc folder.
just sharing my way
ps : Sorry, my english ain't really good
or like Notorious states use the OTA updater to update to 2.91 which includes this.

Dude... You should've just gone and read the original thread, at least the last 10-15 pages.
NitroCharger.sh is only available as an OTA upgrade to 2.91. However, many people decide they don't want to use it anyway since it's been known to cause stability issues.

Hi you! Sorry for this stupid question but what is the function of Nitrocharger.sh???
this is the first i up Neutrino rom and like you i didn't find the nitrocharger.sh at System/etc!!! ~~!
So after trying multiple times to update my tablet an failing everytime. I checked the last_log file in /cache/recovery and found out that the reason the update was failing because I've deleted Netflix.apk from /system/app.
Since I did not backup the application I had no way to use the OTA, however after a few hours research I found out a method to completely restore the system to stock.
Part 1: Restoring Tablet to Stock
1. Download the system dump that matches your current software:
9.4.2.28
WW - http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF201/WW_epaduser9_4_2_28UpdateLauncher.zip - MD5 - 68D41197B399967B7F6789E47683A0D7
US - http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF201/US_epaduser9_4_2_28UpdateLauncher.zip - MD5 - DF17D3129378E9A7F81C58AF7BF5396B
TW - http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF201/TW_epaduser9_4_2_28UpdateLauncher.zip- MD5 - 3999B0E052211AA53ED1DB5D06A02AD3
2. Unzip the compressed firmware file to the root directory of a MicroSD card (external). Only extract this once so your sdcard should look something like this:
/MicroSD/US_epad-user-9.4.2.28.zip
3.With your Transformer turned on, insert the MicroSD into the MicroSD card slot.
4. An exclamation mark should appear in the notification area.
5. Tap the mark and proceed with the update.
6. Your tablet should now reboot and proceed to update the tablet, if you get an error try redownloading the update and trying again.
Part 2: Rooting your Tablet
Voodoo root keeper didn't save my root after part 1, so to root it I used Debugfs automated root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
After your tablet is rooted you should use OTA root keeper to backup your root.
Part 3: Manual Update to Jellybean
1.Download the dlpkgfile for your system, I uploaded the US file: <--------------- US ONLY don't try if your tablet is not on US firmware, it might brick
http://www.mediafire.com/?ddcl3k233kxsvv8
WW version dlpkgfile <--------------- WW ONLY don't try if your tablet is not on WW firmware, it might brick
The WW update file (thanks for kikistans for uploading):
http://dropbox.com/s/uiui6ha6hrg2mg1/dlpkgfile
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?kzr30e1vufbgee9
2. Place the dlpkgfile on your tablet's storage, MAKE SURE THE dlpkgfile does not have a .zip extension, the file has no extension!
3. Download ES File manager and go to settings>root settings and tick all the boxes.
4. Copy dlpkgfile to /cache
5. Go to /cache/recovery and create a new file named command
6. Open the file as a text and place the following code in it and save:
--update_package=/cache/dlpkgfile
7. Turn off the tablet
8. Press and hold volume down+power until the tablet vibrates then release power and keep holding volume down
9 When a text shows on the boot logo screen release volume down and click volume up
10. The tablet should now start updating, it'll take about 30 minutes and once the tablet boots you'll have jellybean
11. Restore root with root keeper
This method should work for everyone with a locked bootloader:good:
Edit:
Sorry I've been busy, it seems like some people are missing 3 files, follow this thread if you're missing those files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909820
Also some people are reporting that their tablet is get bricked, MAKE SURE THAT YOU'RE USING THE RIGHT FIRMWARE UPGRADE
new-tilus has reported that this method worked for his stock unlocked tablet.
I used the last part more our less. Ota rootkeeper claims I have root. But I don't. Photocopier still keeps root access, but I cannot gain any new root access.

Do we really need to go thru the hardship? Isn't ASUS going to fix it?
I think it must be noted that the OTA update for a WW variant will not work on a US variant, a DE will not work on TW and so on. The SKU for the OTA must match the SKU of the Prime in question.
It works. It doesnt befor becouse I didnt delete .bin from name of the file
Uh, fix what? ASUS is in the business of doing firmware updates for stock + unlocked devices.

It seems to work here, I did exactly what "Protato" wrote and it's been loading the new JB for more than 10 minutes and no triangle yet
It worked I am on JB 4.1.1, forllow the instructions "literally" and it will work!
by far the simplest instructions to follow
i was having the same issue as most of you, i was (stock) rooted and applied the OTA update. i did have OTA root keeper, but my update failed and i lost root. i did a factory reset of 9.4.2.28 (US version) after a backup, then i rooted using DebugfsRoot_Generic. i more or less performed part 3 of this thread although i had to add three missing files to /system/xbin/ (maybe if i would have applied the stock 9.4.2.28 file i could have skipped this step). i forgot to restore my backup before i applied the update so i lost root. updating and keeping root may require SuperSU instead of SuperUser, from what i read last night. i hope this helps, thanx to all the people out there, especially @Wipeout and @Trekest from the post below, as well as @sparkym2 for Debugfs and @1wayjonny for Universal Naked Driver 0.7 and @Protato. good luck, i wish this thread was around yesterday evening, it would have saved me hours...

Anybody remember how to have Flash working again.
For me it works on default browser, but it's not working anymore on Boat Browser.
I saw a thread this morning, but now I can't remember where it is.
Thanks if any link will be passed here.
1. Downloaded US version (mine is US build) - checked MD5 version to be the same.
2. Extracted once and copied the .zip to the root of external memory card.
3. Upgrade file detected - proceed with upgrade
4. Reboot. Then progress bar for upgrade.
5. Device started with a message that upgrade process completed. I am still seeing 4.0.3
Sorry posted too early.. still need to follow step 2 & 3.

*** PERFECT ***
All steps worked EXACTLY as explained in OP :good:. I am running JB now. Even I managed to restore root explained. Thanks you very much !!!
Thanks for this! I applied steps 1 through 3 and no problems updating to Jelly Bean! Although I protected root. I lost root after update:/ Oh well. small price to pay for Jelly Bean!
ES file explorer will not allow copy of needed file.

1.Download the dlpkgfile for your system, I uploaded the US file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ddcl3k233kxsvv8
2. Place the dlpkgfile on your tablet's storage.

Hi everyone,
I see that there is a new final version of 4.4.2 released for the Ascend Mate 2 MT2-L05, MT2-C00 & MT2-L01/MT2-L02.
This firmware release is MT2-L05_EMUI3.0_Android4.4_V100R001CHNC00B607
It can be downloaded here ( Scroll to second Tab on the download page ) :
MT2-L05 Download :

So, I have downloaded the update and thought that I would make some personal edits to the ROM before I flash it.
The main reason I want to edit it is to remove the "Set_immutable_list" file that blocks full root access whenever you root Mate 2 KitKat versions. This would save the requirement to use terminal emulator and Rom Toolbox to get full root access later. All one click root solutions would work perfectly without this one file being in the ROM.
So.....long story short, I have managed to unpack the Update.app file from Huawei. I have also manged to unpack System.img to ext4 format and remove the "Set_immutable_list" file from the system image.
I am now stuck at how to repack the ext4 folder back into a system.img
Any help would be greatly appreciated !! THANKS A LOT !
EDIT :

On Linux you just have to mount system.img to some folder, so you can add/delete whatever you want without extracting files from image.
You can try my repack of B607: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=572025&view=findpost&p=38144996

My FRIEND Kostyan,
you saved me ...again!!!
Registerd just to thank you.
Got my device (Mt2-l05) 2 days ago and started preparing it.
OTA updates didn't work in my device for some reason(could not install).
Used the MT2-L05V100R001C17B109 from needrom, installed via ext-sd method through settings
and after that 4 ota updates until B606 ota.
Next comes the bootloader adventure:
PC could not find the fastbooted phone through CMD, tried everything (4 hours) again and again, nothing.
So with the device in fastboot I used that old Huawei toolkit (the one than isn't working anymore),
toolkit found the device, I used the unlock code that I received via email and unlocked the bootloader.
Before closing that old thing I saw the toolkit first tab, I could read 1)Bootloader and under that 2)Recovery...:fingers-crossed:
So I selected your TWRP_MT2-2.8.1.0.img and hit that Recovery button.
That old toolkit did it again, my now rebooted phone had TWRP.
After that I had to root it:
Used Root Genius 2.0.1.3 and every other kit out there, tried everything I could think!
No use! My phone's personality reacted badly to change...
After 3 hours reading and trialls I saw your post about your prerooted repack of B607 and that made my day!
Had a little problem with Russian language in 4pda but... Не за что!
Flashed your B607 zip via TWRP and presto!!! Rooted!
Now I'm a happy Greek.

its being worked on slowly. Lollipop will be here in a few months... hopefully we will have stock and CM roms.
PLEASE READ NEW FLASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for any bricks. By flashing this you understand that no one involved with the making of this Rom is responsible for a brick. However, if two nations go to war, that's okay, because they will destroy themselves and their people will worship me, THE BUTTAHLORD OF BUTTERNOOBIA!!!
I mean uhh... No, very bad thing, no countries should not go to war *cough* destroy yourselves *cough*
PLEASE READ ENTIRE THREAD BEFORE FLASHING, D/Ls and Changelog in 2nd Post
Okay past the joking, this is a stock, rooted KitKat ROM for the ZTE ZMAX. The deodexed version would not boot, so this is odexed. However, this version is free of any King Related apps and I've also removed the little bit of crapware in the device.
FEATURES:
Removal of All King Related Apps
Pre-Rooted
Clear of Bloatware
Added Xposed
Added SuperSU
Removed crappy ZTE/Metro/TMO apps
Overall Clean experience
HOW TO FLASH (NEW INSTRUCTIONS):
1. Place ZIP on SD Card
2. Reboot Into TWRP
3. NANDROID (DO NOT SKIP THIS FOR YOUR SAKE)
4. Don't factory reset the normal way, go to wipe > advanced wipe and click "dalvik cache", "data", "cache" and "system". If you don't, you run the risk of getting an updater-script error (not from the zip, it's a bug in some TWRP builds).
5. New Step: Reboot recovery (in the recovery menu). It will ask if you want to install su, press do not install.
5. Flash the ROM
6. Reboot and rep Butternoob!
BUGS:
Free and clear, you tell me!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Butternoob has been confirmed to work on all variants of the ZTE ZMAX by at least two people on each variant. THIS IS NOT SUPERBUTTER! For those that don't know, Superbutter will be a heavily modified custom rom. Butternoob was designed to be a stock, clean experience with solid performance. I may add tweaks, but you won't find a lot beyond the stock experience.

no. Don't try it. Unless you want to buy another phone.
Having an odd issue with LTE. When I call with LTE enabled, it tries to force the call through VOLTE, rather than handing off to a 4g (or whatever) local band. The call, of course, fails with no audio in or out; is this a known issue, is there a workaround, do I need to re-flash, or is this something weird that nobody's heard about before?

Zmax Z970 RamDisk Boot.img packing problem
Hi,
Im attempting to repack the ram-disk image for my boot img on my ZTE Zmax z970 running the BN 2.0-oxed ROM. I was trying to use gzip with mkbootimg and it is not working, im assuming due to the fact that my newly repacked ram-disk cpio compressed file was not the same size as the original making the phone fail to boot when the boot.img was sent back to the boot block. My pc is running Ubuntu 14.04-32 bit. I know that the unpack-bootimg and mkbootimg scripts are working correctly because when i repack an unchanged boot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz file (unpack the img and recreate the boot.img file) and re-upload it to the boot block, the phone boots correctly so I know that my procedures outside of the ram-disk cpio file are correct. My question is, How can I find out how much padding i need on the ram-disk file, where the padding should go, and how to apply the padding to get the file the correct size so that it will work as intended? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I only unpackaged the boot image to change one entry in the ramdisk to the default.prop file. If there is a way to open the compressed cpio file with an archive manager and could update the file once i make my change. that would work as well. I can open the gz file with the archive manager but can not open the cpio folder contained inside.
Thanks,
Much appreciation.....f20062e
I followed your directions. Surprisingly it was super easy! Thanks!!!!!

Thanks a ton!
ZTE 982
Hi there good morning I have a big question, I have the ZTE z982 from MetroPCS I went ahead and rooted and installed TWRP on it. Now I was having some issues trying to flash a custom rom Slimrom to be exact (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zte-zmax/development/slimrom-5-0-2-t3161888) but I kept getting errors about legacy property? So something along those lines. Well I then read somewhere that it could be because of TWRP being outdated. I took it upon myself to look and find an .IMG witch I then flashed and now am stuck with a sorta bootloop flashes on but the screen goes black. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.
how did you get past fastboot. my z982 cant find device there?

No matter what I do I cannot get this vile little phone to root. It is located in adb but fastboot just isnt there or doesnt' want to find it. I have tried every dang driver you can think of and still nothing in fastboot. I must know its driving me crazy. I have got to where i absolutely hate this phone!
works on z981 ??
So my friend got an update to the huawei XT. He was already at b160. The new update is labeled as b170 which i think it could gain some hope this phone will get nougat sometime (most likely not). The update only has a device security patch. The security is from june 5 which is pretty old but i guess it's better. If someone else received the update post it here
got the notice for update at noon today - but alas, I have mine rooted so it tried to update, and then reset and is back at 160.
and yes, was really hoping beyond hope for some Nougat...
We need someone then to unroot the phone and update to b170 or at least check how to update to b170
See this post and links in it for how we updated before if the phone was already rooted (and for stock phones that can't OTA due to non-AT&T SIM) :

If anyone is able to capture the B170 update and upload it somewhere I'll try and make a TWRP flashable update
My phone doesn't see any updates yet
Could you briefly describe how to do this please? Can it be done from a phone with a locked bootloader or must the bootloader be unlocked?

you would need Root and a Root explorer - file manager
you would go to settings / Software update / download the update
choose to install it later
then with the root explorer search your phone for an update.zip
I'm not sure where it's stored I'm looking for that information now
after you find the update.zip file copy it to your phones storage and upload it to your google drive (or anywhere I can download it from)
if you know the exact location the update.zip is stored you could possibly adb pull the file without having root
Update should be in /cache/fotapkg/update.zip

When I get it I'll get all that as well.
The ATT update note calls it B160_B170_SMR_100 , I hit continue when I tried to hit "remind me later" - but it redownloaded.
Ghost Commander shows nothing in the /cache - odd - so I don't know where it's actually sticking it. I'm searching for it both under that name above and also as update.zip and anything else I can think of (by date, since it just re-downloaded)
I'll grab and document all the info on what I got where.
File is in /cache/fotapkg/ but is named package_temp.zip
I have it out, xda won't accept the file that large, trying to figure out how to link that file only to my onedrive so you can get it without access to all my other junk (sorry)

OneDrive link to file package_temp.zip should be 102 mb in size.
Got it using Total Commander. It seems to be better at grabbing root files than Ghost was.
Also, one other note - I modified the permissions from root root to everyone so that may need to get changed back (or not - you tell me) to be able to get it to move.

Well I'm sorry to report so far I have had no luck installing this thing
I have tried the dload/update.app using the dialer method and the update flashes but you have no wifi afterwords
and the phone still shows you on B160 (cust not updated / system files not patched)
I also tried with Flashify and Stock recovery and used an edited updater script in TWRP and all fail for one reason or another
Sooo the only way we will get this is if someone that has done the update
uses TWRP and creates a system.img and cust.img and uploads it somewhere for me
So I can build the B170_Full_Update.zip
Any idea how the phone installs this OTA zip file?
Is the updater-script failing because of assert statements for cust and system?
Have you had success patching cust and system using the OTA updater-script/OTA zips for the Huawei Ascend XT before? How did you end up getting the cust and system for your B160 Update zip? Probably from a TWRP of someone's updated B160, which is what we need to do for B170 now, I'm guessing?
Thanks for your efforts on this and answering my questions.
