Hello, I recently bought a used T-Mobile LG v10 from ebay.
The person said "clean imei but may go bad so purchase assuming that the imei will go bad"
The phone has a different imei in the software compared to the sticker under the battery.
Now this phone is locked and I would like to unlock it. I do all my unlocking at unlockbase.com
Now to unlock this phone, you need to run the T-Mobile "Device Unlock" app
But when I run the app, this is the response...
Connecting to server, please wait...
Server not responding, Please try again later.
Because of this I am unable to unlock the phone.
Is there anyway to work around this or get the app to work.
I also noticed the WIFI cuts off automatically sometimes.

You don't loose the unlock, once the phone is unlocked it stays unlocked. I bought my v10 on ebay and am using it in Honduras, updated it once before rooting, never lost the unlock

EDIT: After doing a thourgh examination of the pkg it may contain a serious bug that could potentially cause a super-brick. Until I can confirm that it's safe to use DO NOT install it.
As with all updates not on the official server they're not released because they're not fully tested. This is NOT the first time a pkg was released that had serious bugs, do not install.
Do you know what frequencies are used in that model? I know that Dell sells an unlocked models for AT&T and T-Mobile. Does the Olleh model match one of those or are the frequencies different? Does it matter?
I should get my Venue (AT&T version) on Monday. It will be interesting to see what ROM is on it.

If you bought unlocked AT&T version then probably 325, if locked AT&T then 321.

After you flash the right recovery it will work with your SIM - but you will have to switch from Korean to English, and most likely there are no other languages besides those two (I installed Olleh GB ROM on my Dell Streak yesterday and can attest to that). But certain things may not work like USSD codes (if you need to check your data, minute balance with your provider via SMS type service) and so on. I would suggest waiting to see if Dell would have an unlocked retail version out that will support all languages and will not be carrier specific.

I yesterday updated my LUMIA 800 to 7.8 via Nuviflash Latest Release and as the title suggests it is blocked again saying "This SIM Card can only perform on certain networks and bla bla bla...". Before that I did TP unlock my device and was told that It wont be blocked again. It is now blocked again, I restored the previous ROM as well but no luck. Any suggestions on that other than again going trough the entire TP Unlock.

Poor U, me too. It's because you're using a network locked phone not world version.
If you know your phone is belong what network provider (AT&T, T-Mobile, ...) you can buy a unlock code to unlock your phone in to world version and use it

I have the same problem with my lumia. I updated to 7.8 and the phone relocked. it was bought through the web and was regularly unlocked from SFR before but now they don't want to send me the code. Could you guide me to any solution please ? where can I buy a working unlock code ?

I didn't even knew my phone was locked... I bought it from some guy, with DLOAD bootloader, and unlocked and the guy told me it was world wide version.
So because of the DLOAD i belived him.
Now after updating to 7.8 it locked !
Guys, what can i do, can i go to nokia service center and pay for unlocking for example ?!
I don't know from where is my phone actually, i bought it with HK software on it, so i presume it's somewhere in HK...
I'm open to any ideas, because i dont have another phone and i'm dead :crying:
Edit: I tryed to track it a bit with the IMEI, so it starts with 3516820 which leads me to Telia - Sweden ... And they want 75$ for the code, this is madness !

Hi,
The TP unlock is patch-unlock. So, if you will flash to stock ROM phone will be locked again...
Now you need to unlock again via TP unlock obviously!

I'm thinking of flashing 7.8 on my DLOAD Lumia 800 and this kinda worried me.
My phone was locked to Vodafone Spain, but the previous owner got it sim-unlocked (in June 2012) before selling it to me. I don't know what method they used but I should be fine because the TP/ATF method you're talking about is relatively new, right ?
Otherwise, is there a way to tell which type of unlock I have before updating to 7.8 ?

Which is strange, because mine was bought in july so it couldn't be unlocked trough TP, maybe the guy bought a unlocking key.
But since i can't connect to the guy again i'll have to spend 25 Eu every time when microsoft releases an update for TP unlocking. I better sell my Lumia when i unlock it... :crying:

Hi,
Ask provider before buying codes, that if it will lock again if I flash
my phone. If they say - it will, then ask if I could use the same code
to re-activate my phone or not.

Can you tell me something about stock ROM ? I mean even if I update my device via zune (official update) it would lock again ?

If you update with Zune the mobile will not be lock. I did it las time with mine and didn't get lock. Also if you update using the file .xap neither will get lock the mobile.
Mobile get lock only when you update it by Flashing a room.
Anyway after you flash your mobile it can be unlocked with the unlock code you used last time if you still have it.

My imei stars with the same 7 digits and the ROM it uses right now is from H3G UK (it could not be the original one though)...so I wonder how did you find out yours is from Telia - Sweden

And what procedure should I take in case it is possible to update it without it's problem with the imei again?

Hello . How the imei changed in first place?
If im not wrong... G925I Nougat update rolled out only for India flagship devices yet...
You can flash it or wait for official Region/ Carier you have at the moment!
But you said your device is on 5.1 speaking at the moment...
You should be on 6.0.1
Or you just didn't update it?
Flashing stock firmware via Odin is safe and you won't loose your imei
But you can make a back up of it!

Ok... So I have tried all the possible ways of rooting my phone V10 H960A but failed. I cant unlock my bootloader because my phone is UAE Middle East variant and the LGE official bootloader unlock site says that it isn't allowed to be bootloader unlocked. All I want is the unlock.bin for unlocking my bootloader... All I am thinking is that if anybody having a european variant which can be officially bootloader unlocked, can share his unlock.bin file with me so I can unlock my phone bootloader. Please anybody? Can you help???

The Unlock.bin File is generated by your IMEI Number. It's only for one Phone, Your's. No other Phone in the hole World would use it or unlock it. Have u proof a VPN? And then try to Unlock the Bootloader on the LG Site? What is if you try to Sideload? Have you look of existing Tools or a App that can do it? What Model is Your V10? My Model is h960a with the Android 7 ATR Turkey Rom.
Write us if you find anything in the internet.
One Question to you, why you have too Unlock your V10? If you Unlock that Bootloader and Flash a Custom Rom that Second Display won't work either and the Google Play Store have a new Security Software in the Store that control's if your Smartphone has Root and Custom Rom installed.
If that happens, the Play Store won't give you any App or Game to download. And, for Nougat don't exist a Tool or anything to Root that V10 yet.
If you find anything, please tell us here and Post it to all the Users they also have or had that same Problem like you...

Oh, it's really [emoji22] i think. I don't know that only the h960a Modell is Supported. I don't think that LG the Unlock Models Upgrades to your Model and the other Models. Have you 64GB of ROM installed @ your V10? Have you think about to change only the Motherboard of the V10? It's a question about the Price but, that is a Idea i think or what is your thinking about?

I wanna unlock my bootloader because around 80% of the forums on rooting V10 H960A suggest a pre-unlocked bootloader before proceeding to the "ROOTING" process. I cant get my phone unlocked. I have been trying since last semester when I purchased this phone. I cant a f******g solution to this UAE model. Damn you LG.. Your policy sucks big time. I wont go for another LG phone ever in my life. I think I have tried doing this LGUP flashing thingy with 32GB ROM, but then the phone gets stucked at LG BOOTSCREEN or continously keep on bootloop and reboot loop.... Can you suggest some working Android 6.0 pre-rooted rom for my phone variant ????

My Model can Unlocked by LG on there Site. You have to look here in xda in the V10 Forum for a Pre Rooted Marshmallow ROM. I don't wanted to Root my Phone because i have Guarantee until September 2018. sorry, you have to ask Google or XDA Developers.
