How old are u? Have you tried flashing stock boot.img. in recovery? If nothing helps, wipe and then start all over again. Next time do a backup

Hello all,
I rooted my s4 a while a go and installed TWRP and today I decided to flash a rom so I downloaded it and flashed it but my phone would no longer boot past the first splash screen apparently the rom files were corrupted so I went back into recovery and wiped the phone then restored my backup and now I am stuck on the boot animation which I left for a good 15 min and I also tried pulling the batteries out and still no luck.
Could you please help me fix this??

Reboot to TWRP and wipe your System, Data, Dalvik and Cache... Then Boot to Download mode and flash your phone's proper firmware using Odin.. Make sure you have a backup of your installed Apps and their Data..
Hope this helps you

Thanks alot man!! I flashed stock as you said and everything went back to normal. Good thing I had 3 different types of backup so I didn't lose any data.
Howdy partners, not sure if I should have started my own thread...let me know if that is proper procedure please. I've already read the recent boot loop thread by vlmaadir t=2558286, but I'm unsure as to the applicability of the solutions in that thread to my problem.
I'm in a similar situation as the vlmaadir, except I've been running the most recent stock ROM (UCMD8) and have rooted via framaroot and flashed the AJKv4.9 - NoSwap Kernal successfully around 12/5/2013. Of course I've yet to do a backup of the OS or apps, but pics/vids/contacts were all recently backed up.
About two weeks ago I started noticing random reboots, but wasn't really sure what to make of that, never any boot looping though. Well this morning the phone was working when i woke (phone alarm raised me from the dead on time) and had approx. 70% battery, but by the time I got to work, the phone had apparently powered off.
When I powered it back on, it took a several minutes to boot up (normally around 45sec-1min), once booted the battery showed about 10-15% (in the red). The few apps I opened worked (naked browser, outlook), but were a bit laggy. I decided to restart the phone from the regular power menu to see if that would help the laggy/battery issue, and upon restart I am now solidly stuck in my 1st android boot loop!!!
I can boot into CWM recovery, but have yet to do any wiping as I wanted to seek a bit of advice here 1st.
If anyone has any pointers, I'm listening.
Thanks!
I would 1st try a wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache from cwm recovery and see if it will reboot.
If it doesn't then u will probably have to wipe data/factory reset from cwm recovery and then reboot.
If ya have been runnin good for a while with AJ's kernel, then a rogue app may be the cause of ur problem.
R u tweakin anything in the kernel through stweaks apk ?

Thanks 4-2.
If I have to go wipe data/factory reset, should i have to re-flash the rom and kernel?
I've been running the AJK for about a month, no tweaks. Like I said in the OP, I had noticed some random reboots in the past few weeks and at some point over Christmas day, when I was doing a good bit of pic/video work on my phone, it came up with a message that the internal storage memory was low. I knew this wasn't the case, at least as far as the entire internal memory, which had around 3 gigs free. Just a few strange things I've noticed since having AJK in place.
Are there any other good kernels for stock 4.1.2? AJK seemed to be the go-to of main stock and custom ROM folks.
I did a cache wipe, but when I enter the dalvik wipe confirm menu, the output shows
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
and when I confirm yes, wipe dalvik, the screen goes black, then the phone restarts into the boot loop.
Any one know what is up here?
^^
Doing and wipe data/factory reset in the cwm recovery will just return the Stock MD8 to just full stock, as if u first installed it through Odin or att official, Except u will still have the AJ kernel. There is no need to reflash the rom as u say.
But if u cannot find an app that is causing the problem, then a complete Odin flash to Stock MD8 should help in the troubleshooting.

The "E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]" is the norm from what i remember.
But not sure why choosing to wipe dalvik cache resulted in a bootloop.
Have ya tried the wipe data/factory reset yet ?
Just did a wipe data/factory reset and I got out of the boot loop! Now I just have to set the phone up like I had it once again! Boo!
Thanks for the input 4-2!!!
Glad ya got it going. :good:
If any other problems arise, just let us know. There are several good members around that are glad to help.
Sony Xperia Z2, locked bootloader, rooted SuperSU.
I was running MM but wanted to update my phone to latest Firmware .575 Marshmellow. Unfortunately, I made the rookie mistake of not making a backup because I was running low on space. Flashed, wiped cache/dalvik and then It went as far as home screen and then boot looped. I could only get into recovery TWRP.
Did a factory reset, clear cache/dalvik again. Nothing worked. Could only get as far as agreeing to terms screen and then boot loop.
Flashed an older firmware (.232) Lollipop that was pre rooted, same issue (don't know what I expected really)
Recovery is still there, I decided to just turn it off and ask someone because the internet is not giving me answers and I think I did enough damage. Please help!
Maybe too late, but..
What about when you wipe only cache and dalvik cache and flash again 575 zip and after that, flash bootloop fix, then restart phone to system from recovery menu?

I haven't tried the bootlop fix bit. I have tried this one though after going back to 570 and it still bootlooped. I'm back to 570 now.
Maybe a more stable flashable version will be revealed soon...one can only wait and see.

Just flash the rom again without wiping anything. The same rom that you had when all this happened. Not any other. Let it boot up. Give it 10 minutes at least. Try and report back.

lol, nothing has happened, dnt panic, just boot into recovery manually by pressing power and volume+ buttons. Flash the the same rom firmware, wipe dalvik cache and Reboot, give it 10-15mins.. if this doesnt works then wipe everything(except storages).. then flash rom.
lol.
Calm down buddy. If you can get to your recovery flash the ROM you were using. If it was MiUI, flash lazyflasher/universal boot.img patcher after flashing the preferred MiUI ROM.
Flash another kernel which doesn't support gpu_governor, or wipe data.
Ok well thanks everybody for your help I have now found a twrp backup restore data and i am now up and running again aaahhhh!
Lol I bricked my phone so many times, i can't even remember. It would be very shameful if my parents would find out about that...but then again...it is my phone, bought it with my own money.

Unfortunately that's not the case here my parents bought this phone with their own money thank God my father was away last night and I fixed.
Hi there
I'm totally happy with this device but had an issue today for no apparent reason.
I was using it normally, I put it in my pocket (80% battery) and when I took it out, it was stuck on MI logo screen. Maybe screen wasn't properly blocked or something. But I find all the situation quite shocking since I normally set manual updates for system, and apps, playstore, etc.
I haven't done any flashing opperation recently since I'm not much into this kind of things nor installed any new app recenlty. However the phone was rooted (previos bootloader unlocking) quite a while ago by using "magisk method keeping stock recovery for OTA".
The phone is permanently on with MI logo on screen. I tried using power off button for a long time to see if I could turn it off but it didn't work.
I have access to Fast Boot and to Stock Recovery (3.0).
Is there any way to enter the system again without losing all data? If not, can I recover data before "flashing" anything or before using "wipe all data" option in recovery mode?
Thank you for any possible answer.

Thanks a lot mate, with this small guidance and not much idea about this things I flashed lazyflasher, wiped cache and dalvik (couldn't with stock recovery) and reboot into system.
Just out of curiosity, by flashing this lazyflasher have I done permanent changes on the system, or just through the first immediate boot they disappear?
What do you think could cause a bootlop if not an update? May an app installed a while ago causing something like this?

It happens sometimes for Unknown reasons and Lazyflasher will not harm your device and I would suggest you to flash Another Rom

Did you run any root apps ? If /system changes you need Lazyflasher I think. You could alternatively reflash the ROM (without wiping data)
