Slow app-switcher launch times - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

What is it that makes the app-switcher take ages to come up after I pressed the button? Sometimes up to 2 seconds even though my phone works blazing fast on any other task.
Phone: Kate
RAM: 3GB
MIUI: Global stabel 8.1.1.0

My phone takes like 2 minutes to turn on

Hi people, my xperia x10 mini pro with MiniCM7 takes a long time to turn on every time I do, and it's annoying because i'm used to phones that 10 seconds after turning it on they are working, is it normal for android phones? thanks
Mine takes more or less like that, it happens because you probably installed too much apps so until it "read" it all takes too long.

Super Slow Motion

Hi everyone,
I find this super slow motion feature really cool, and I use it a lot. The only thing that bothers me, is that I can record only 0,3 seconds of super slow motion in 1 part. There is an option for multiple recordings in one video, but it makes again 0,3 sec of slow motion, interrupts and then again.
Is there any possibility to record in 1 part more than 0,3 seconds of super slow motion?
Absolutely not.
It is not even 0.3 seconds, it is 0.2 seconds stretched to 6 seconds. The processing power required to process 960 frames per second and store them to memory is enormous that is why SloMo is only at 720 P on this phone. I think Sony with SD845 still does it at 1080p but total duration is 6 seconds for Xperia phones too. So definitely a hardware limitations in terms of processing power and thermal capacity.

Redmi note 4x physical button heating

Hello,
I have the Redmi Note 4x and the device is getting worm in one location where the home button is when the screen is on, when it off the temperature returns to normal. Also it began 2 days ago and I didn't experience it before.
All the rest of the screen doesn't heat up at all.
Does it sound right? or is there something I can do?
Thanks

Problems with always on display on Mi 10 5G

Hello! Two weeks ago I bought Mi 10 5G (8/256Gb) and it wasn't cheap. That's why I expect everything to work perfect.
I've noticed a bug on my always on display. After some time it just disappear and the screen is black. Also noticed that it doesn't always show the animation when notification comes, instead it lights up the screen. Running MIUI Global 12.0.3 stable.
Other than that, phone is perfect.
Did anyone else noticed the same?

General Pixel 6 quirks

I've had the pixel 6 for about 2 months now and I thought I'd share my thoughts on some of the quirks of the device.
As many of you have experienced, the fingerprint scanner is not great. It's slow and dithers far too often. I've tried registering the same finger more than once but that's not helped.
Another quirk of this device, and it might be a consequence of the December update, is that almost all of the pictures and videos I took the other day were not orientated correctly. Most were upside down.
Another unfortunate side effect of the December update is the poor network signal. It also disconnects randomly. Whilst on the subject of networks and signal, I can't seem to be able to easily disable 5G. It's not very widely available here, it wastes battery and 4g is plenty fast.
The phone is not as buttery smooth as I expected. There's been lots of occasion when it would hang for about a second. Usually when typing.

Is it possible to disable 5G on AT&T?
Bought an unlocked 256G pixel 6, looking to disable 5G to get longer battery life. However I am not seeing the "Preferred network" option under SIMS. Is there a secret handshake?

Yea fingerprint scanner can be non responsive on the lock screen even with the fingerprint image there to touch. Tap the screen, swipe up that gets it going but a lot of the time it feels like a multistep puzzle to get the phone awake.
AND there's always a big fingerprint smudge in the middle lower part of the screen!
Photos (compared to my pixel 2) seem brighter and noisier and I'm not all convinced any better.
Maybe because I'm running ProtonAOSP (w/December update) but I haven't noticed any of these issues. For sure on-screen fingerprint scanners suck compared to the ones on the back of the old Pixels but the on screen scanner in the Pixel 6 doesn't seem any worse to me than the one in my Mi 9 or OnePlus 9. I've noticed no issues at all with network signal and I do have an option to turn of 5G. And the phone is definitely buttery smooth for me.
Maybe give ProtonAOSP a try?

Do you experience jitter scrolling/typing?

So I'm not alone. This is what made me go back to the November build. It's so annoying. Hope it will be fixed soon.
However the Pixel 6 is almost perfect now. I usually get it off the charger at 80%. By the time it hits 20% I am getting 5hrs SOT straight. Maybe because I'm mostly on wifi these days, but still this is the best I have experienced on an Android.
