I read through all the threads about the new upgrades, but I have not seen anyone talk about power consumption and battery life.
Can someone who has done the upgrade lay out the differences?
It seems to have improved, but I've done quite a few hard resets and other various testing, so I can't say how much.. But it definitely seems to have improved..

About twice a week I have HELL days were the phone gets a work out and tomarrow is one of them.
The old Cingular ROM:
Turn on Phone at 6am-by 12 noon it would be dead, I use a lot of 3G and video streaming.
Tomarrow will be the first hell day since the new ROM, so I will report back tomarrow night and let you know how it goes.
After several days with the new ROM and a full day with the new 1.33 radio it appears that battery life is definitely improved.
I am running radio 1.27 and i can say that with this .rom battery has improved somewhat from what i saw in 1.20.....
The battery life is definitely better on the new ROMs. I'm running 1.27 Radio ROM and with a 3000mah battery my phone last around 10 hours now.
I certainly hope so. I would like to consider myself a power user. I have my push email downloading every 2 minutes. So I am usually dead by 3pm. I hope this will be better under those conditions.
Are people here using the battery saving hacks on the Wiki or are you using the default ROM settings? I have not checked, they might be the same in the new ROM.
I'm only using the default ROM settings.. Minus a few CABs in the extended ROM, but those are mostly things that annoy me anyway (like the Good Email and such)..

Has anyone tried the tweaks on the Wiki with this ROM? If so, how much battery asving do you get and what are the possible side effects?
bat life is so much better.... it would almost be dead by 10pm.. not its still over half by 10
can somebody please show me a link for the tutorial for rooting and installing custom roms ?
also which custom rom is absolute stable and gives good battery life so far i have not been able to experience the 9 hr talk time the razr is claimed to have.
i want something stable and light with extremely good battery life. pleaes and thank you
This phone is a little more confusing than my other but once you get used to it should be ok. I havent done it myself either but have you checked out these?

Well I love the jb roms....ive tried pretty much every one of them for days at a time. But I cant walk around charging my phone all day. Ive read all these stats of people getting days with a certain jb rom on their fascinate...which sounds great, but that just isnt the case here.
So, when using an ICS, the battery life seems to be much, much better. Particularly with Gummy, although ive had other strange issues...but the damn thing atleast doesnt keep dying on me.
Does anyone have any recommendations on a stable ICS rom for the fassy? Im looking for good battery life...not so much tweaks. Or would I be better off to go back to GB? I tried CM 7.2 but wasnt really impressed with the battery life on that even compared to Gummy. Thanks for any help guys.
Also, does anyone have a copy of the Devious ICS rom?
Best ROM's for doing anything would fall on the individual - with so many variables involved, user apps/user tweaks/user usage the only real way to find the best is for you to flash and run and test....
Thanks
First of all , im a vietnamese so my english might not be good , so please give me an excuse on this .
Im in vietnam now and my friend just gave me this ASus Padfone x 16gb black at&t day ago to use and i really have some problem on this phone that i want to ask everyone about:
1. Why dooes the battery drain so fast ( even when i just turn on turn off my phone ) ?? T_T , i went to system and found that 1.1GB/2GB ram was used even when i just did reset my phone and did noy install anything on it, so can i root my phone and delete some unecessary apps for me in VN ( like AT&T ones) so that i can improve the battery life?
2. It seems like i can't use it as a world phone in VN ?, but i dont know why. really hope anyone will help me on this question .
3. I googled i found that if i root my phone and run custom roms ( like cyanogenmod ) , it will help improve the battery life? ANy ideas on this?

1. Didn't have that issue. Is it constantly searching for signal? That could be a cause if its not getting it. Also, that RAM used is precached apps and the OS. Let it manage its own RAM. It's better for your device, performance, and battery.
2. I do not know, I am sorry.
3. There aren't really any for the PadFone X. Whether they improve battery on this device or not will remain to be seen.

oh you're right, cell standby ( in battery section) takes up to 66% percent and i really dont know why, maybe i dont insert a sim into it, and its a at&t phone searching for something in Vietnam , hope after that the battery will get better. Thank you for ur advices
Hi!
I am on 20s Chinese ROM rooted and since few days ago I started to have a really impressive battery drain.
What do you think is the problem?
I use the bluthoot with my mi band and I cannot believe that the system update (aggoirnamento di sistema) have sucked so much juice.
Thank you
I guess the system update app got stucked in the background. Do a reboot, that might solve the issue.
You can also try out custom roms for example Small EUI (if you favour long battery life).
Have you tried rebooting? Looks like some process has gone awry.
