Hi guys, really need your help. I have rooted my phone long ago. Last night my phone get OTA (update) i know that my phone is rooted so that i cant update it, but after few hour, my font restarting again and again. i only mange to get 20-30s to on my phone.
what should i do? i still can go to fastboot and recovery.

Are you s-off or s-on, as in is you're boot loader locked? This may be fixable if it is. If you're running a custom Rom/recovery it is unlocked

Mine is s-on and unlocked. I have read other thread for different phone , that it can be fix by flash it with stock recovery. But I cant do it properly because I couldn't find my stock recovery to flash. ??
Which htc one max do you have? Sprint, Verizon, gsm, international. Somewhere out there someone has a copy of the original. If yours is Verizon I have that one.
I believe reflashing the recovery Will fix you're issue as its a common failure with a bad Rom/flash/install
Are you currently running a stock rom/recovery or are you running just a custom recovery or recovery and Rom?

Mine is international HK 3.20.708 and currently im running custom recovery but for Rom, as i remember, i never flash any custom Rom before. This is the link i use for root and flash custom recovery. http://wccftech.com/root-htc-one-max/ There is no Custom Rom provide at that page, so i guess i only running custom recovery .

I have found my ruu in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643973 , but the link at that thread not exist anymore. I just wish one of them can give me the exist one. I already try text them in private. but i guess they don't active anymore.
Find a different recovery and try it instead, not sure if cwm or twrp has one for you're phone but they do for most
locked bootloader

The scenario:
I was S-On and rooted then relock and RUU back to install the recent OTA.
Then I tried to unlock and flash the Amon Ra Recovery using Hasson's AIO toolkit v2.1.
Now my HBOOT is look like below and my phone is rooted and able to operate normally.

1) Yes, that particular message does not affect functionality. It reads "Tampered" on the stock bootloader if a custom recovery is installed.

Hi, I have been reading all sorts of threads for hours trying work out the correct way to root the Evo 3D I just got. Every single guide and tutorial is about unlocking the bootloader and rooting etc with S-on to make it S-off. Mine is already S-off and I cant work out what's next.
This is a new phone I got from ebay but I believe they network unlocked it first or something. In its current state:

Also is there a custom rom that's best to use, where everything (including 3D) works? I assume development has stopped for this device, is there a particular rom thats ideal?

You need custom recovery. My recomendation is 4ext. After you flash recovery you might want to downgrade your hboot to 1.49.0007 so you can flash any ROM out there. If you want fully working ROM (with 3d) just flash any Sense 3.6 ROM, they all work fine.
Just in case any else wants a 100% clean install without having to worry about anything, heres the download link from HTC for the 4.4.4 update.

Nope, just plug in your phone and run the RUU (its a .exe), it will take care of everything.

Yes it can be unlocked and rooted. Might have to ask for a new unlock code, if you relocked it. But that's it.

Yes and yes. Though running the RUU doesnt require you ro re-lock your BL and doesnt re-lock your BL after flashing. If you run with an unlocked BL you'll still have it unlocked.

You can just run this RUU since its official AT&T firmware you dont need to be S-OFF.

The build you're on now is a euro build?... Might be conflicting. Flash a stock sense ROM and try again.
I flashed back to [ROM] Stock AT&T 1.58 Deodexed and tried again still same error, I guess I might need to lock the bootloader which I been searching all day without luck for S-ON! help plz///

I'm having the same issue as well and can't find anything on it. For me the stock ruu installer finds the phone and reboots it then errors out on step one sending files to the phone, the HTC logo and black screen are there but no progress bar. Not willing to blow the 25$ on sunshine just to find out it won't work, I've read that it doesn't work on the 2014 AT&T HTC One M8 which is what i have. I hope you get help on this matter, seems there're issues with trying to mod this phone like S-Off seems impossible and twrp recovery flashes to your boot partition "Which i did and now stuck with a glitchy boot"
ok heres what i did. i am currently s on i was rooted and bl unlocked. i tried running the ruu like that and it didnt work. so i flashe stock recovery and relocked. tried again an done. it worked perfectly. now gong to bl unlock and root

How would you install this RUU from a GPE RUU since the GPE has a smaller partition. Would it be the same procedure EX: change the CID then flash or do i have to do another method?
There is a lot of confusion on this thread.
To be clear, if s-on, the bootloader must be RELOCKED or LOCKED in order for RUU to run.
The only exception to this, is if you have s-off (I'm guessing that is the reason some responses above say UNLOCKED bootloader is okay, since s-off would be the only reason this would be true).
You do not need to flash stock recovery to RUU. This is only necessary for OTA. RUU will flash all new partitions, including stock recovery.

May or may not work. I've heard reports of both. You may have to flash the extracted firmware.zip first, then RUU, as some folks have had to do.

Yesterday I tried to update my M8 from KitKat to Lollipop. Previously I had rooted my M8, but S-ON. So I read that unroot and relock boot loader would be necessary, and thats what I did. After that, I was trying to get my OTA, but never came, maybe because I'm outside the US. Then I was reading the main post about downloading the OTA in Zip format, change the name and wait for the update.
Thing is, my M8 never boot up. Even after 13min. Then I saw that I've lost my custom recovery with that. I had to flash it again, but just after Unlocking one more time the boot loader.
And here I am. Trying to get Lollipop with no luck. My info:

In order for you to take the ota you must be 100% stock (system and recovery) and be locked. That's why it's not wanting to flash for you.
Hi!
My situation:
I have a HTC desire 510 EU, which was succesfully rooted. Unfortunatly, i messed it up by formatting something wrong (i suppose OS).
I have been trying to reflash recovery and rom without result, so i decided to intall the stock ruu.
I relocked the Phone and found 4 different ruu's on the htc website: spring, cricket, boost and virgin.
I dont know which one i have so I tried all of them all without result: they all give me signature error 132.
How do i find out which one i have?
I am able to use philz touch recovery. I have tried redownloading the RUU's, run as administrator, wiped old rom data, etc.
I quess the error is because the Phone is S-on,so i have tried to set it to S-off. Unfortunately my device is not found in adb..
Maybe because the debugging mode? im not sure if i can change this while it's bricked.

Hi , if is S-On you can't downgrade or install other firmware of course it will give you error.
