Hi, Desperately need help. I have been flashing custom ROMs for 2 years now and this is the first time I have encountered this issue.
1. Device is a S3 i9300 international version
2. Device was running Stock 4.1.2 from a ODIN I had done a month ago
3. Recently changed to Omega ROM 4.1.2 and lost IMEI
4. Used ktools, to revery efs, but it did not work
5. Decided to run ODIN again using the same files as before
6. ODIN runs properly, is successful, phone reboots
7. Phone only reboots into Stock ROM - does not ask for Login process, as it always does on first boot. Get the stock ROM with no IMEI even now.
8. Also phone shows a black box in the middle with device data (PDA: 19300xxufme7, Phone: ...., CSC:....., etc.). The box dissappears when I enter app drawer, or any phone menu or app
9. Tried ODIN again. Shows as success. No Login process on first boot despite cache and factory reset in recovery. Black box still in the middle of the screen
10. CF-AutoRoot and TWRP installed successfully
11. Install Android HD revolution ROM to see if that works - No login process on first boot - Phone shows that Android HD is installed - but no IMEI still
Please help. Why am I not able to reset this with ODIN??
Update: Removed the black box by disabling FactoryMode in efs folder - using Root Explorer and instructions on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sMtxJRt77k . OTHER PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. Why doesn't ODIN reset the phone to stock?
ODIN resets but partition of efs folder remains unchanged..
just flash any latest modems after xxemg4
Everything explained in detail here
Please read the EFS/ IMEI sticky
Why doesn't ODIN reset the phone to stock?
Does Odin throw up errors

That's since flashing ROMs is not the same as understanding what you do
You have f*cked your efs. If you (or some ROM installation - Omega usually does that) made an EFS backup at some point you could recover things "soft". If not - you need to go to a shop that can write your IMEI and pay for that.
Before doing anything else read more about it - search the thread that talks about EFS.
hey guyz i need your helpam puzzled to the core
i was running 4.0.3 in my beloved s2 and i flashed insecure kernel for rooting ma phone
This is where it all started
i flashed a ROM from xda
some rom for s2 with s4mods, and the phone didn't boot up so i restored my nandroid backup and the phone was back on
but it couldn't detect the sim card (tried many)
then i got pissed off and i went into the recovery and did a factory reset and formatted system and data and cache just to be sure
this is where i screwed UP
i formatted the emmc instead of sdcard!!!
now my phone gets suck in s2 screen and i was not able to flash anything then after googling up i did a PIT flash that cleared the way a bit
the stock rom that i tried earlier with odin was unflashable(NAND Write )
now i could flash it with odin and it is a PASS
and i rejoiced....but then again it got stuck at S2 screen!!!!
now am able to flash anything but of no use....
tried PIT!...only the particular kernel provides me with CWM rest dont....
help me out guys pls

So I've got this issue I never had before.
It started happening after I screwed something up with the EFS I think.
I was flashing some custom roms after the 4.3 official update and then tried to go back to 4.1 official.
Had the no network problem, but fixed it flashing the vodafone stock 4.3 official again.
Reading all the stuff about EFS confused me, and I deleted the EFS folder and copied an old backup (or so I think, because I'm not sure. I had a EFS backup on my sdcard and extsd I think).
I no longer have the no network issue, but everytime I flash a stock rom through Odin the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo, so I have to root the phone and install TWRP using Odin and then wipe. I know this way fixes this, but what I'm looking for is to fixed the problem completely so I don't have to install a custom recovery or root after using Odin to go back to official samsung rom.
Any ideas?
What should I do?
Maybe the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo because all of this EFS thing, but, like I said, I no longer have the no network issue.
All I want is for the phone to boot normally into the setup after flashing a samsung rom using Odin.
It just gets stuck every single time since I had this problem with the EFS, when before this never happened.
try to install the rom in recovery mode

I had this problem before (flash 4.1.2 in current 4.2.2 by odin), here's my solution.
Maybe you can install your ROM in recovery mode. (CWM based)
Remember to wipe completely before installing

I can flash custom roms through TWRP, but what I'm looking for is to be able to do so again through Odin without ending up stuck at boot always and having to wipe through TWRP to be able to boot properly.
Any ideas?
I'm sure there must be a fix so I don't get stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.
I know the trick wipe factory reset but what I really want is to simply avoid getting stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.

Factory reset is also available in default recovery as well, then what is the issue? Flash then boot to recovery do factory reset.

Thanks.
I'm just trying to find out why my SGS3 now gets stuck at boot when before it never happened.
I'm hoping there's a way to fix it and go back to before, when it never got stuck at boot. There should be a way I guess.

i got the set with hang on logo situation WITH RED ECXLAMATION MARK on left top corner
i tryed to flash it with odin with several versions but always failed when flashing SYSTEM.IMG!!!

Hello guys, I am looking for help. I am currently on custom ROM. I tried revert back to stock but with no luck because every time I tried it caused device to bootloop. I have TWRP backup but when I try to flash latest firmware via ODIN with HOME_CSC it stucks on pulsating SAMSUNG logo with pulsating blue LED light forever. The main reason is because I do not want to lose apps and their data (some apps data cannot be backed up in Smart Switch nor via Samsung Cloud)
Only modification to the system was:
. no-verity-opt-encrypt-samsung-1.0.zip
OR
- boot-noverity-nocrypt-g965f.img
I tried various options. In Magisk = Restore images, I extracted stock boot.img and stock recovery.img, flash it with TWRP and after that flash firmware with HOME_CSC. Still bootloop...
What did I miss guys?

go into the file manager of TWRP and delete the folder named Android and reboot. Itll take longer than a normal boot if it works as the OS is rebuilding the Android folder while it boots
