Customizable watch faces are one of the many interesting aspects of the Amazfit smartwatch, although managing to use them can create quite a bit of headache.
Preface:
There is quite a bit of confusion over this aspect (or at least I felt confused at the beginning) so let’s clarify something:
1) By “default” the customizable watch faces are available only on the Chinese Version of Amazfit
2) In order to upload the custom background images, you need to use also the “Chinese Version” of the Amazfit Application.
Using the cn-version of the Amazfit application seems to work for the majority of the users, albeit it does mean facing other problems with the activity sync because you no longer have the support to Strava.
(please note: I’m not going to discuss about the activity sync issues between amazfit and strava because there is enough to get a severe headache and I’m among the majority of people whom never got this thing working although I tried every possible combination of fw/app/procedure.)
At some point during the upgrade of the chinese Amazfit application many users start reporting issues with the custom watch faces functionality. Now users are facing yet another difficulty because in order to load the custom backgrounds they need to install an old version of the chinese Amazfit application, and even so in some cases the functionality is not working.
What do you need to proceed:
I got tired of this situation and I decided to find a way to easily manage custom images for the watch faces.
The procedure is incredibly easy but you will need the following:
1) An AmazFit watch running the latest PACEfied Firmware. (thank you Neuer_User for that!)
2) A working computer with ADB drivers installed.
3) A proper image to use as a watch face background.
4) Optionally a software to explore ADB-devices folder structure if you want to use a GUI to simplify the process. (this guide will use Android Commander for this purpose)
Preparing the images:
A proper watch face background image is a PNG image with a transparent background of 512x512 px.
Circular images are the best to use, but if you want you can also use square or rectangular images.
If you want to use a non-circular image, then you must be sure that none of its edges exceeds the 512x512 px frame even if it’s a transparent layer. (otherwise you will have problems with the watch moving animation)
Remember to save the image as PNG-24 with Transparent Background if you are working with Photoshop.
How to manually load custom watch faces backgrounds:
1) Connect your Amazfit to the computer via the charging cradle
2) Open Android Commander and select your device in the devices list (remove any other adb-enabled devices so that you will see only the amazfit in the list)
3) Click on the “Load” button and wait for the interface to open.
4) Now on the right panel you can browse all the structure of your Amazfit.
5) Locate this path: /data/media/0/.watchface/customBg/
6) Upload all the pictures you want to use as background in this folder
7) Once the upload is complete you will be able to use this images directly from the “Settings” menu on the Amazfit customizable watchfaces.
Of course the procedure can be completed by using the command prompt, issuing the push command in adb shell, if you don’t want to use a software like Android Commander.
I mentioned it because it’s an easy-to-use software that can help many users who are not familiar with ADB.
Below there are some examples of my results:

Final Notes:
This procedure is only possible thanks to the PACEfied firmware developed by Neuer_User, so you should really thank him if you haven’t already.
The procedure is safe, it’s just a copy-paste of PNG files and don’t represent any potential danger to your Amazfit smartwatch but I won’t take any responsibility for any possible “brick”, data loss, headache, heart failure or whatsoever.
This works very well, thank you !! Is there also a possibility to modify the colour of the clock hands?

I'm glad everything worked out fine.
I have developed some variations for the clock hands but unfortunately they are not as easy to implement, I'm trying to find a solution.
(also, if anyone has an idea about timehands and graduations please feel free to let me know more heads are usually better than one in problem solving :fingers-crossed
Thanks for the info, handy! Does this work for digital clocks as well and how to add the other info like steps and heart rate etc?
Hello There. Has anyone been able to upload any Rolex watch faces onto this smart watch? (Xiaomi Amazfit).
Any pictures if possible to see how good it looks.

Good work
Hi, I've installed. And I very like your QR Code and effort to install.
I really like your design. And the way how you did the first tutorial.
I've installed, clicked on my images from gallery and created first art.
I am from Switzerland and in case you did good work on icons, there is absolute no language issue. Very easy to understand. When I saw the first samples of Acolart I was impressed.
And I like that you have not implemented ads. Please keep that. I will keep your app on my phone!!
My recommendations:
1. Don't ask for rating on first time. Keep in mind, on first time user can do serveral things wrong and has for example not perfect library. What he is rating is not what you need.
2. When you ask for rating, ask if he has any problems before you want his rating. If he has problems, ask if you can get his suggestion and not go to rating page on this point. Your rating are worse just in the case you are asking wrong, not in case the app is not good.
3. The Save-Methode should be change. That is bad. Use Windows methodes and move to a "next page". And more important, move back to main view after the image has safed. And dont ask for "Back to select another language"? The app crashed because I did not select something quickly at this question.
4. You should register the app as "Editor" in Windows Phone. That is important to allow user to click the app after he has made any picture and look at his gallery.
If you need help, I can assist you (WP developer too).
I ratet 5 stars. Keep that way you are working on it...

I have created a new watchface focusing on information density and using all screen shapes perfectly.
I'm searching for Beta testers to make sure most devices work fine: Get Tiled Watchface at Google Play.
Thanks!
Count me in! I'm always looking to try something new.

Sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for trying out Tiled Watchface and for your feedback.
In itself the changes are small enough but I have to re-architect a portion of the drag-and-drop layout selection first before being able to implement those changes. Please be patient, I put them into my list and try to make the necessary changes as quickly as possible.
(I develop this in my spare time and it might take some time nevertheless...)
A new version of Tiled Watchface is out with several improvements:
- resizable tiles
- full complication support
- additional tile types.
Check it out on Google Play!
My two cents, is the latest version is just about perfect.
I have five complications running without an issue, asked for a Black, Black, White scheme and they supplied it.
Even though I use the Huawei 2 "Round", this digital watch face is no my favorite.
Wish the digital clock top center tile could be made bigger ? but I changed my Google Play rating to 5 stars.
Configuration tip, you need to configure the watch face from the Android Wear App "some other watch faces install apps on the Phone" this did throw me off for a bit.
A new and all around improved version is out. The main new feature is the the ability to add pre-configured screens and quickly change them on the watch:
Enjoy on Google Play
Just found out about this watch face. It's amazing in its usefulness and simplicity, and should be featured in all those "best Android Wear watchfaces" lists.
However... it crashes each time I try to click on an element to customize it (complication, allow the face to access the calendar, etc). It then defaults to the built-in "Simple" watchface and there's nothing I can do to use Tiled again, I have to uninstall it.

Hi,
as on the Sony SmartWatch 3 there is no Android Wear 2.0, i cannot use the complication-feature . So I am very sorry to request/ask again for a tile with phone battery. Is there any chance to get this? Maybe with phone and watch battery tiles with a phone/watch symbol? Would be realy great if possible (and not too much work).
Greetings

I got it to work, by uninstalling everything, reinstalling, going into the watch's app properties before using it and granting it permissions beforehand.
However, am I doing something wrong? I was under the impression that the watchface offered the possibility of multiple screens, a bit like a phone's launcher? This would offer a much quicker and easier way to access frequent apps. Try as I might, I'm only able to display one screen (plus another, dummy screen for ambiant if I want to).
Am I doing something wrong? Or is the app limited to one ambiant and one regular screen?
Also, one idea for future development could be to allow various tiles to have different colours. That would improve the look and readability tremendously.
Hello everybody!
I'm a forum newbie and hope someone can help me!!
I've bought an Mtk smartwatch, model QW09 from http :// www . gearbest .com/smart-watch-phone/pp_411172.html (I've to use spaces inside url due to forum rules). It's an Android device with a Kitkat version on board called FunOS.
I've been able to pair it with my Huawei P8 smartphone via bluetooth and I receive basic notifies from the phone BUT I can't answer to a call when phone rings (the smartwatch only vibrate once but nothing appear on its display) or make a bluetooth call. Obiously I need it because I don't use the smartwatch with a SIM inserted into, only with paired phone for not missing calls when it's inside my pockets or inside a bag...I just want to know if it's possibile and how to answer/make calls to my phone via bluetooth from the smartwatch.
Thanks a lot in advance if someone could help me! :fingers-crossed:

You probably figured this out already but I'll post to help others who are also having this issue. Short answer is that you cant't answer calls made to your phone via bluetooth with this devise. The QW09 is essentially a tiny phone and that keeps it from being used this way. You can either put a sim in it and use it as a standalone phone (provided it will work with your carrier) or you can use it to receive notifications. But you cant answer/make calls to my phone via bluetooth.
I might be sending this 2 years later, but I actually found a way to use this watch right. Here's what I think IS by far the best way to get this watch operational, at least for my Huawei Mate 8:
1. Root with KingRoot (Download the application over Windows PC, enable USB debugging, connect the QW09 smartwatch)
2. For this step you have 2 options:
a) Download Watch Droid Phone Pro 8.2 apk somewhere on the internet.
b) Get Lucky Patcher and patch Watch Droid Phone 8.2 yourself.
3. Downloading the same app, but other counter part, this would be, Droid Watch 8.2.
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THE EXACT SAME VERSION, THE LATER BUILDS ACTUALLY DONT SHOW UP THE CALL BUTTON AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE BELLOW:

}
I PROVIDED BOTH SCREENSHOTS SO YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR.
4. Connecting is pretty simple just follow the instructions, and you should be done. Calling through the app can be setup, as well as other cool features, depending on your phone.
NOTE! - These other steps are for people who want to get rid of some annoying FunOS features.
5) NO.1 Watchskin faces:
This FunOS was actually quiet annoying to work around first. I figured that it's based on NO.1 watches, and so their watchfaces do work.
For that stuff you'll need root access like which I mentioned as step #1. The location to put the facewatches is root/system/clockskin... (Make sure that they're labeled _45, _45 etc...)
6) Getting screen rotation, notification panel and navbar at the bottom of your screen:
As you may have noticed, when you swipe down, you get this horrible looking menu with a QR code, and nothing to touch besides WIFI and Bluetooth.
Get these 2 programs to fix that:
[url]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nu.nav.bar[/URL] - Navigation bar.
(When using put scale on bottom to 30% - IF YOU USE ANY HIGHER THAN THAT, THE SCREEN WILL OVERLAP WITH THE NAVBAR)
[url]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.chladek.swipe_status_bar[/URL] - Swipe status bar.
[url]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stihiya.notification.drawer[/URL] - Notification drawer.
Some other useful apps that I found to actually be really good:
1. Gallery 3D (Android 2.0 imtation) - This app is good because scaling pictures HD on this thing is a pain in the ****.
2. Document Viewer - Good for reading Office documents.
3. Dimly - For dimming your display, has nightmode.
4. Messanger Lite - FOR SOME REASON ONLY THIS VERSION ON MESSANGER WORKS.
5. RAR - For archives.
6. Screen Roration Camera - Use this to be able to rotate portrait, landscape... etc. If you combine this with the swipe notification you can easily rotate the screen, because it creates a notification.
7. OpenCamera - Good for zooming etc, rotating. Since position for the camera is AWFUL on this device, not to mention screen being a bit off too.
8. File Manager + - Use this instead of ES File explorer, because it wastes less memory.
9. ColorNote, Smart Quick Settings, Weather, BlueMail.
I spent some time trying to find the right programs for this watch, so it wouldn't get build up with a load of crap and get slow.
Most of these apps are around 5 MB each, except Messanger Lite.
If you'd like some sort of switch for the Advanced Task Killer, I use One Cleaner.
Vysor for control over PC...
Flappy Fish is also a good game if you're trying to find something that won't fry the motherboard... etc.
Also when getting the notification bar enabled you'll notice the standard KitKat notification panel, with all of it's features.
For some reason these FunOS bois, put some features hidden. You couldn't even change your GPS/Location settings. Luckly with these you might be able to.
If you got any other questions feel free to ask!
please can you help me? i recently buy a qw09 smartwatch, i root it , but i can install Watch Droid Assistant in the smartwatch , a message appears saying that version is not available anymore . The EMUI has evolved for several years and is getting stronger and more user-friendly day-by-day. For heavy smartphone users like me, I know basically every small feature of the system, however, I found some of them particularly useful. Today I’m going to share with you some of the less-noticeable features which help me every day.
The most easy-to-use to-do list
How many of you keep the habit of listing to-dos? For procrastinators like myself, I found it difficult to get things done if I’m without a TDL (“to-do list”). And here is when the to-do of the EMUI Notes app got discovered by me!
I know some of you might wonder, there are tons of TDL apps on the market, why should I use a stock app? I’ll tell you why: easy to use and simple to maintain! You just go to your Notes app, or add a To-dos widget on your screen, and you’re good to go!
The To-dos is very straightforward yet useful enough: just add your to-do and set a timer or a location (or not), and mark the importance (if needed), and it’s done! It’s so fulfilling to cross items off, and feel the happiness of getting things done!
Multi-screen collaboration
When you talk about EMUI’s amazing features, the one feature that cannot be missed is Multi-screen collaboration.
When I’m at work, or when I have a low battery, I don’t want to raise my phone too constantly in case my thoughts are interrupted. Therefore I will enable the [Huawei Share] on my phone, and put it close to my Huawei laptop. And bang! My phone screen will appear on my laptop, and I don’t need to stare at the small phone screen anymore! I can look for files, reply to my messages, and even answer my calls on the PC!
A super cool and super-easy way to manage files
This one is not that different from the second feature. It’s actually included in the "Multi-screen collaboration" feature, but it’s so convenient and useful that I have shared with everyone who uses a Huawei phone and a Huawei laptop: File cooperation!
Just go to your phone storage and find any files which you want to view or edit. You can click it directly and start editing it on your laptop; or, you can just drag it out to a PC folder!
And, don’t worry about the screen-on time will drain out your battery. Once you start operating the phone on your laptop, your phone screen will automatically go dark, saving battery for you!
Ring-tone maker
I don’t know about you guys, but I am a person who simply hates the ringtones which come with the system. No offense to the ringtones and to those who use them, it’s just a habit of me.
If you happen to be one of my kind, you will be truly grateful for this feature: ring-tone maker!
Just download the music you like, and play it with the Huawei Music app, where you can find a small bell icon. Tap on the bell icon, and you are free to define your own ringtone!
I know some other music apps might also support this feature, but those apps sometimes cannot set 2 different ringtones for the 2 SIM cards I have. So in the end, it’s the Huawei Music app’s ring-tone maker that wins my heart!
These are the 4 small lesser-known tricks that I found truly useful for my daily life. If you haven’t tried them out, try it now! I'm also trying all the new features on my recently purchased Mate 40 Pro! If you want to know about EMUI tricks on the new flagship, leave a comment and let me know! See you next time!

3. Best ColorOS Features
There are so many personalization features in Reno8 5G, and these are the ones that I like and useful to me.

[Lock Screen Magazine]
I will have a different beautiful image to look at every time I need to unlock my phone. For me, it’s like having a surprise. Also, I can access some news and information related to the image and I don’t need to unlock the phone to access it. If I want to, I can add my own photos to the carousel wallpapers.[Always on Display]
It is interesting that I can add text and image to it. I can put a reminder for other people not to touch or play with my phone
[Google Lens in Camera and Photo Gallery]
Another awesome feature embedded in phone’s camera and photo gallery. As we know, we use google lens to find information on something from an image. Usually, I will need to access the Lens app and work from there. But this time, the Lens icon has already inside the camera and photo gallery. So, I just view the photo from the gallery and press Lens icon, VOILA! The information related to the photo is there. Efficient! Love this!
in Camera appIn Photo galleryResult and tools to search further
In terms of productivity, these are really helpful :
[Multi-screen connect]
It provides seamless connectivity between my laptop and phone, no more cables needed. Moving my files is as easy as select, drag and drop. I can control my phone from my laptop too.
Since Reno8 5G doesn’t have an SD card slot, at certain period, I will need to move some of my files from phone to laptop.
(in Windows 10, drag and drop might not work, so after files are selected from the phone, click send and choose multi-screen connect)
[One-handed mode]
There are instances that I have one hand occupied. And, at the same time, I need to respond to urgent text or access other function. This feature comes very handy to that situation.[Flexible windows – mini mode]
This is useful when I need to work on two apps at the same time[Raise to wake]
I just raise my phone and it automatically brings me to the lock screen. No double tap or pressing side button.[Partial Screenshot]
Before this, I need to crop the full screenshot image if I want to use partial of it. With this feature, I can skip one step. Effective!
I am glad to know that OPPO goes beyond to provide security and protect the privacy of smartphone user. Enable these features are a must!
[Pseudo base station blocking]
In Singapore, we have DNC (Do Not Call) service to block incoming calls and SMSs from tele-marketer, but it does not always work for fraudulent calls/SMSs from scammers. This feature will provide a shield by intercepting messages/calls from counterfeit numbers used by criminals. It is important for me to enable this feature because I am so tired receiving spam calls and messages.[Require password to power off]
This feature is very straightforward. If my phone gets stolen, I still have time to locate it[Privacy Dashboard]
This is like a compilation of which app use what function related to permission given to the apps.
Sometimes I do random a check for location and camera.
I don’t want to see any app with no permission using these two functions.
If I want to change permission for certain app, it can be done from here as well.
Cool features that I am not using (for now) but it’s worth mentioning because they are so awesome and might be useful for me one day.
[Smart notification hiding]
If you feel annoyed by your close one who likes to peep/check your phone when there’s notifications, this feature will save you. If the front camera detects someone other than phone owner is looking at the phone, the content of notification will be hidden. How cool is that?[System cloner]
System cloner will create a separate system for certain app and a separate password is needed to access it. It’s like having 2 rooms with 2 keys in 1 place. I like to have this option, it might be useful for me one day.[Retouch appearance in video calls]
I was intrigued when I found this in settings. When using video call, of course I want to be in my best look. And the Reno8 5G has a setting for that. Currently, it’s only working for Facebook Messenger. Hopefully, it will be extended to other apps, e.g. Zoom, WhatsApp, Instagram.
[Air Gestures]
This is actually a very awesome concept since scrolling through social media has been a part of daily activity. Scrolling without even touching the screen, that is what Air Gestures about. Front camera will detect your palm and flick your palm up or down to scroll.
Air Gestures experience has not been smooth for me. Sometimes the palm motion is not detected so I need to put it at a little odd angle for the camera to detect.
As I said before, this is a very awesome concept, but improvement is needed.
