Use network spoofer app for these. It can kick off others and change their browsing sites.

Just wondered why you think someone else would do the leg work for you to find a compass APK, when they can be downloaded from the market? Here's a hint - use Google!
Regards,
Dave
As said, use market to get a compass app. Search for 'Analog Compass' for example (or just 'compass' for all).
That's the one I'm using and think is quite nice.

i like "marine compass", shows off the combination of g-sensors and compass
GPS Status also shows the compass.
gackaass, if you don't have the Android market in your country, have a look at slideme.org and andappstore.com. You can also search the Android market on cyrket.com or androlib.com and then try to find an apk from the results there.
tanx for u all
but i forgot to say i can not connect to internet by phone !(ad-hoc problem you know) my carrier is rubbish in internet service as well....
so no market access !
please upload any best u know ! i will pay for it :d

androlib and cyrket (once it works again) are "only" frontends to the market. You could try and use a Google search for the program names that you can find there.
Or use the Website link and see whether the authors have an apk on their site.
http://code.google.com/p/android-ac/ and http://code.google.com/p/eyes-free/ showed up on the first three pages of results for "compass".
Or use slideme (once it's working again) and andappstore. Andappstore has a direct link to a "GPS status" apk.
Yes, that's not very comfortable, and it's a pity that Android cannot use Ad-hoc mode without rooting and some additional work.
You could vote for http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=82 by logging in and clicking on the little star.
Maybe it's easier to convince your PC to act like an Access Point, e.g. with http://connectify.me/ or something like http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2...ain-USB-Adapter-Versatile-Station-AP-Mode.htm.
tank u for ur attention !
i am new in android! and i dont no more about rooting!
would u plz tell me more about rooting!
and what is the advantage of rooting ! what can i do after rooting! does it have risk?
tanx
Sorry, I don't know much about rooting, you have to google that on your own (or look around here in this forum, there are even stickies for it). There is a risk of bricking the phone and also you might lose the warranty. If you don't feel confident to do it on your own and understand the risks, don't do it.
One point I forgot in my previous reply: your (our) Hero was rather expensive, maybe it wouldn't hurt to buy an inexpensive WiFi router or access point. It's the easiest way to solve this problem. At the moment you only want a compass app, but there are a lot more apps that you might find useful in the future, and I wouldn't want to hunt them down one by one like you do at the moment.
Hi all,
I've written my first free app and I'm looking for a good ad network for banners and interstitials. My app is an educational app for people who want to learn Spanish so I'd prefer relevant ads, if possible (e.g. Mexico travel). Otherwise I'll take whatever is converting these days.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance,
Barry
Has anyone had luck with Airpush?

While some use it alot of people hate airpush and use apps to detect if it is there and then remove the apps that have it. Just an FYI.

I was going to use them for interstitials, not air-push ads. However after I signed up I found out interstitials are "coming soon"
Gonna use MoPub instead, if I can ever get it working...
One of the networks that i am using is adiquity & they proposed me a solution where they will provide the infrastructure for direct sales ads...i have not tried it but you may want to explore it its free...
Guys , haven't seen any kind of app which connects with both WiFi and mobile data to download anything for a better speed, I am not a developer, but I got the idea of this application which can use both WiFi and mobile data to download with much more speed, . so is there anyone who can develop this kind of app.. I know its a stupid question but wanted to clear it,.. Thank in advance guys
IIRC I saw one, can't remember the name though. I think it's in one of those tech news sites. (Probably XDA) Sorry i can't give you a more constructive answer.
Hi all,
I've been looking for quite some time now for a way to turn my phone into a Wifi repeater.
About a year ago I read somewhere about a chinese app called "fqrouter2", which is mainly
used as a vpn tunnel but also has a feature for rooted phones to host a hotspot while being
connected to another wifi network.
The last version of fqrouter2 was released more than a year ago and only supported up to
Android 2.3. While I found quite a few people saying on the Internet that it is possible
on a rooted phone to use the wifi modules for sending AND recieving at the same time,
I was not able to find any alternative app so far.
I have pretty much no programming skills, so I have no idea how hard it is to write such an app,
but I can't believe that I am the only person who wants such a feature for their phone, so maybe
there is something/someone out there which/who could help me?
Regards
Made an account just now to reply, plus xda is awesome.
I hope someone can figure this out, I to need this android 5.0
Bump.
No alternative?! Is this really the only App that can be used as a WiFi-Extender?!
bump.
did my monthly research, still couldnt find any new app/solution to turn my phone into a wifi repeater
Would be great to find an alternative in case this app ceased to update.

But how did you even get there?
I mean what did you download, install and run?
At the start i am getting an error,"XX-net exit unexpectedly"
And finally what is the name of your phone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in future.
Hey,
So I have Ulefone Future (rooted, official rom) for few months, and its very annoying that this China made phone in Latvia is slow with its internet. Max 250 kb/s.... :silly:
Few times when I download from some China or USA servers, then internet goes 1Mb/s which is good for me... :silly:
I have tried adding bands with MTK engineering tool, seems that only stable my connection, but not the speed...
Is there any post or any Idea how to add some internet speed?
I use my phone as internet provider for my pc, so thats annoying to have low speed when surfing, or playing some games.:crying:
Please help,
Thanks.
Bump?

Well, thanks for trying to help but the problem is that I need to not use some download manager app but Have an internet boost at everywhere I use it - hotspot, youtube, spotify, and other things
EDIT:
There is an funny thing, just for fun case tried this ADM, and when I download bigger file, it looks that it wants to push my internet to limits - 1,7Mb/s but it cannot be used for youtube and portable hotspot things... Is there any kid of app? May I have some kind of built in internet limiter, or I should go to my internet provider and talk about this? I dont really like to go to them and talk, so maybe you have some suggestions to make my internet faster on my phone?
Wanted to say that if I put my SIM to my old phone (LG leon) then I can use full speed of internet as I can - over 1Mb/s.... So it looks like phone has some kind of built in internet limiter?
Bump...
