I mean I don't want to sound like a noob but what's the setup that you have. I've tried theming and only certain icons get themed on the stock launcher. I'm going to ask the obvious but do you use another launcher to fully get substratum working properly?

Substratum mostly works fine with the v10. I'm not sure if it works better than Layers though. All the themes I've tried cant theme Settings though. I dont use the stock launcher, I prefer Action Launcher Pro 3 and Smart Launcher Pro, with OmniSwitch for recents, tasks switching, etc.

Do we lose any functionality by installing UX4 on G5?

Since UX4 is an older version, do we lose any app/widget functionality by installing it over UX5 ?

Not that i have seen, i've installed it and had a quick look through it. I use Nova launcher though, gives me far superior control of what i like to be able to do with a launcher. As far as i could see it just gives you your old style LG launcher with the same abilities as the default UX5 launcher.
Yeah...Nova is by far the best option.
I also haven't noticed any settings differences. But yeah, try Nova. You definitely won't regret it!

Cheers for the reply.
I am really not liking the ''All white ui'' not only does it drain the battery twice as fast but it also give me headache. I hope there is a way to change it without root because i know i can easily change it on my G3 with Tweakbox or any custom theme.

Zero. Used it for years. Enables resizing of widgets, backup of your configuration...just all around flawless and awesome. Should be the Android stock launcher!

You lose LG specific widgets like weather, smart hub etc, along with weather effects on lockscreen. These are the main ones i know of but maybe there are more.

Wrong... I still have my weather effects on the lockscreen. And as far as the white draining the battery faster...that applies to Amoled displays. I don't use smart hub and Nova has a perfectly good weather/clock widget. As much as the Lg launcher has nice features i am happy living with the same options on Nova...and my lockscreen weather effects [emoji6]

[XPOSED] Pixel Settings - Customize Pixel Launcher Dock & enable Icon Pack

//updated in 2017-7-24
Ugly fix to working in nougat. It may crashes a lot in the first. But seems it can work in the last. Try at your own risk.
//updated in 2017-1-5
Now it supports customize dock and desktop column size
//updated in 2017-1-5
App renaming is now supported
//update in 2017-1-3
Per app icon set is supported
//updated in 2016-12-29
It's been renamed to Pixel Settings cause it supports icon pack now. There might be problems here and there so just try it out. I'm gonna keep working.
If there is any problem email me [email protected] or post reply.
Donation is appreciated. Thanks.

Which version of pixel launcher you are using, I am using android 6.0 and pixel launcher 7.1.1-3359438. The dock is always there...
By shortcuts, he wanted to say the new 7.1 shortcuts on long press. Use Nova launcher, it has the ability to set the transparency and shortcuts works

I see..
Working with Pixel launcher. Please add this to Google Now launcher. The Pixel launcher annoying is the lack of choice of main screen. Better Google Now.

long pressing on apps, provide us new quick actions that just works on Google pixel's phone, some custom launchers such as action launcher 3 and nova launcher, already provided this feature but I want this on native pixel launcher, hope you can do that ?.

Mi A3 launcher

Is there a launcher recommended for the A3? I really just don't like the app draw and the inability to put things in folders.
I've also got root & a few magisk mods going. Anything you recommend?

If you want the recents menu in android pie to work correctly with third party launchers you need QuickSwitch magisk module only certain launchers are compatible with it.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-quickswitch-universal-quickstep-t3884797
If you like miui or emui, I suggest to use cool miui launcher or cool emui launcher. Both are similar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mi.launcher.cool
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emui.launcher.cool
Its good to use having theme, wallpaper store and have option to take backup also. Try once. I got a cool emui mod without ad version. If you need that, just let me know. I can share.
I use Nova Launcher
Lawnchair v2 from APK Mirror along with the Quickswitch module. You get the recents and overview suggestions from Quickstep as well as the many customization options.

Custom Notification Bar Icons Help

It might sound silly but I actually one of those guys who pay attention to small details in making my experience using this budget phone feels like extraordinary. Some icons on the notification bar are just dull like the battery icon. The looks is just not for me especially after looking the one in iPhone 11. My main goal for now is just to change that alone, but if there's an app that offers more customization for other icons, I will gladly take them. I tried googling it and found about Xposed framework. I tried downloading the apk and installed it. It says that it needs framework or something like that. I uninstalled it and go to Magisk and try to download it from there from the Modules tab. I found it and tried to install it. It gave me an error. Tried it three times. Apparently it's not going to work on Android other than from 5.0 to 8. Now I don't know where else to look since that one was the only one looking promising.
There used to be beautiful themes for POCO when it was on MIUI 10. For example I used to use one called PixPie Dark. It gave me new battery icon, lock screen animations, new navigation bar etc.
Now that we are on MIUI 11 the old themes are not compatible. And newer ones have not been made (yet) which have all the customizations.
I absolutely hate the MIUI 11 default icons. They look outdated.
Anyway here's my desktop setup.
Full stock MIUI 11

Nice....
Does the wallpaper change as per time?
What theme is it? And what's the battery please?
Sent from my POCO F1 using Tapatalk
No, I'm sorry the wallpaper doesn't change according to time. It's just a wallpaper I selected from the MIUI gallery.
Theme is stock Poco theme with Nova Launcher Prime (Paid) and icon pack is Thin Icon Pack (Paid).

I've rooted my phone and installed custom ROM (Pixel Exp). I don't have access to MIUI theme (not that I even want to because it will not allow you to use third party theme. I wonder if there's a third party app that will allow me to change the notification bar especially the battery icon. I tried Xposed framework but it didn't work because it is not compatible with Android 8.0 above.

[LAUNCHER][NO ROOT] Xperia launcher alternative

Hi folks,
Bored of stock Xperia launcher?
Here's the best alternative, Lawnchair.
Google play version is outdated but you'll find latest update here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/delet...627-ci-q-merge-android-apk-download/download/
You will need Lawnfeed to enable Google left panel: https://lawnchair.app/lawnfeed/?ref=lawnchair
Enjoy
I like the way that Lawnchair Launcher looks overall, but I do not like that I can not hide the dock. I prefer having a full screen look where possible.
I like it but I don't like the clock, I wish you could get rid of that and use your own..

in the settings. I did not see anything for hiding either dock or clock. I must have missed something or it simply did not jump out and bite me to make it obvious as to what was needed to be done.
Edited to correct misspelling.

I went into the Dock settings and I saw nothing that said "Hide Dock".
I have Nova Launcher now and I can Peek a Boo the dock with a swipe gesture so that it is not always present and disappears when not needed.
That is what I am looking for here. Am I missing something here?
Hey great, thanks for pointing that out...have a look at what I've done...if Lawnchair 2 did a clock like that I would be happy...or if you could mod the clock, colour it, resize it, change the padding around it, and the icons for the weather....so I could make it look like that..
Either way, it looks a million times better than the Xperia launcher so thanks for the advice...
Happy to be able to create folders in the app drawer.
Anybody knows how to get rid of the white line below the dock?

Via adb, you could try:
wm overscan 0,0,0,-30
And to revert:
wm overscan 0,0,0,0
Bear in mind that this simply moves the nav bar below the bezel, some full screen apps react differently to this. Good luck.
I also like the Lawnchair Launcher a lot, but it cannot work with gestures navigation without quickswitch magisk moudle, which is pity like all other launchers
