Proximity sensor having problem need help - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. My phones proximity sensor is having some problem I guess it is because of headphone jack which is not working as well.. I want to disable proximity sensor because I think it is taking some power from battery ..
Is there any way to disable it except using xposed because I am using 7.1.1 ROM and xposed is not available on it yet..
Thanks in advance

[Q] NEO V (MIUI4 2.8.31) Proximity sensor and stuttering ringtones

Hi all!
I've been using this great ROM by MaxWorks, however, after updating to the latest version 2.8.31 I've had a single issue.
The issue occurs when I receive a call, and the phone is in my pocket or covered by something (covering the proximity sensor); the ringtone does stutter until I get the phone out of my pocket or get the something off the proximity sensor, and the screen lights on, then the ringtone sounds normally without stuttering.
I've tried wiping the system, the cache, dalvik cache, and flashing Super Stock Kernel and Suave's Kernel then reinstalling the ROM after each kernel flash.
There's also another issue with the proximity sensor that happens sometimes while using the phone. The issue occurs when I'm trying to slide down the status bar, the screen turns off because my finger gets in the way of the proximity sensor, and then turns on again when my finger gets out of the proximity sensor's way.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue, I'd be happy.
Thanks all!
Me also facing the same problem sometimes... 'm using MIUIv4 (ICS) EN 2.8.31 NeoV/Neo by ZduneX25...!
Hope they will fix it soooon..!
Sorry for the misuse of my wording
It's the Proximity Sensor which locks the screen and causes these problems, not the light sensor
I'll try to roll back and reinstall the 2.8.24 until 2.9.7 gets released today
I had done a clean install of 2.8.24 and have tested the proximity sensor, and there had been no issues. Then I've done another clean install of 2.8.31, and the stuttering ringtones are almost gone, but I'm quite unsure yet. Wanna test it for a longer time. However, the proximity sensor issue when gets hovered by my finger isn't gone yet.
So I think it's a generic bug in MIUIv4 v2.8.31, and neither belongs to Max nor Zdune's ports, as you can see in the following quote.
Hey guys,
I'm facing erratic proximity sensor behaviour in the latest 2.8.31 rom.
When i wake my phone using home button, the proximity sensor kicks in for 3 to 5 seconds. When i hocer my hand near the sensor, the screen switches off and comes back when i move it away. Anyone facing this issue?

Thread title: Samsung Galaxy SII - Bugs in the latest rom (2.8.17)
Also many users have been complaining about the same issue inside this thread
and the developer, sandy, has uploaded some sensors lib fixes to resolve the issue
It seems the issues are totally resolved and gone in the 2.9.7 release.
Unfortunately, there is an issue in MaxWorks's Rom as the ringtone does not get repeated. It is played once only, and I tried Zdune's, and it's not there.
Therefore, I PMed Max as I can't reply into his thread, and I hope he'd get it resolved sooner.

[Q]Proximity Sensor doesn't work anymore

So here is the story.
I flashed CM Mini 10 with the proper Kernel etc. Since then my proximity sensor stoped workin. This means no landscape on any app nor any activity on compas apps or apps that use the proximity sensor. (ALTHOUGH Proximity Lock App seemed to be working. The screen turned off while covering the sensor)
After that i decided (it was a decision which had to do with the whole daily use and stability of the rom) to go back to Mini CM 7. So i flashed the proper Kernel and the rom. Everething works fine except the proximity sensor.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's not the proximity sensor, that only detects if something (you) is close to the phone, so it can turn off the screen and prevent accidentail touches when you're in the call. It's the motion sensor that is not working properly

Yeah the notification led works and the keyboard! Actually everything works except of the screen rotation which worked perfectly on stock 2.1 with stock kernel

Push! Anyone knows which file is responsible for proximity? (build.prop or other script??)

Problems with proximity sensor on Xperia Mini CM9.1

Hi! I've a problem with my xperia mini with CM 9.1 and Mesa Hybrid Kernel 4.4. If i make a call and approach the phone at my head, the screen doesn't turn black.
I tested the proximity sensor with ad app and the sensor works (also in calls) only if i put the phone brutally in vertical position in front of a surface.
I tried to solve whit the help of this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933290, but nothing. The strange thing is that i must modify the values two times. I've two equal blocks "val cycle=0" etc.
How can i solve this problem?
Thanks in advance for the answers

You can disable the sensor using 'sensor disabler' xposed module
You can also try out 'proximity screen off lite' app on the play store however i am not sure about the app so I prefer you xposed module to use
