Clean flash wipes data and factory resets the device where dirty flash flashes over existing rom if I'm not mistaken

Dirty flash is flashing a ROM over another one without any wipes, but can cause problems, instability, bootloops and crashes.
Clean install is when you wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache before flashing. Clean install is always recommend because it will usually avoid all the problems caused by dirty flash.

I'm having the same problem.. CWM can't properly install any ROM even after all wipes... every ROM install leaves me stuck on boot screen

If you just relax for a minute , take a deep breath and start from the beginning. Listen to what people are telling you. Follow step by step from the beginning. Read what the developer says on flashing the rom and then it will work. Almost impossible not to get the rom working after that. It will all come together mate. Read a lot of posts. Good luck.

vanilla root box for i9300 issue.

After flashing vanilla root box for the i9300 and the gapps I get this before I anything on the phone. "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped". comes up. It give me to option to report or ok.what should I do?
hey man,
you should just go to Manage Applications and and clear the data+cache contacts and contact storage.
be sure that you have backup for your contacts or make sure their stored at your gmail.
GL !
after flashing rom and gapss .. you must wipe data/factory reset and then reboot.
Hi man,
It's not true...even at the official thread of the vanilla
CheerS
You only need to wipe when switching Rom or upgrade to another Android version
You should however wipe whenever you get unexplainable problems
You have to clear cache and dalvick after flashing gapps
yes, but before flashing another rom, not after

Nope, check the installation instructions for Vanilla Rootbox, it says to clear cache/dalvick after flashing gapps. The same goes for any other ROM.
i was answering for the who said you need to wipe after flashing ROM not gapps.
and for the gapps enough to wipe only the dalvik and you don't need to factory reset the device. The same goes for any other ROM.

Some ROMs do recommend doing a full wipe before installing the ROM and after flashing gapps. Cyanogenmod recommends it for those who are flashing it for the first time
hi people
I use the rom already 4 months,
how can i change the background in the settings
I use latest rom 3.7.1!
Sorry post makes no sense .
jje
better?
my english is not so good... sorry :/

when rebooting on pac rom

i keep getting system ui stopped blame split screen
Sounds to me the possibility you dirty flashed???
Unless you go clean, reminents of previous roms can cause these issues. If you go super clean and still have problems, I would re-download file and try again.
Honest guess, you went dirty.
Many folks flash rom 2 times then gapps as a phone can react differently from each flash.

The process.........
Factory reset 3 times
Flash rom 2 times
Then gapps
Theeeeen wipe Davlik and Cache 1 time will do
Boot and wait your 10
Reboot again.
That is super clean right there my friend, and I rarely, rarely have issue. If this doesnt work, then it just may not be for your device. I couldnt run Carbon on mine.
Just the way it is sometimes

Bootloop after installing Lollipop

This happens every time I flash any lollipop ROM, it seems to work with Kitkat ROMs though. What should I do? And yes, I wiped dalvik.
Before installing any rom at first flash stock rom.
Go to cwm or any recovery Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache. flash rom & reboot system.

Yes, I know. This isn't the first time I flash a ROM, but this is the first time I get a bootloop even after I wipe dalvik cache.

Dirty flash the rom by wiping caches and system only. Then reboot. No data will be lost.
If you want to go to another rom clean flash is recommended. Wipe Caches, System and Data and flash the new rom. Obviously data will be lost.

There is no need to wipe system in 99% of cases when updating a custom ROM. Stop lying.
