So after I pretty much flash any stock rom after some mins of usage the phone completely hangs. I tried existenz,mx rom, Original Stock Rom and everything freezes.
Some freezes during the main setup screen on wifi, some freezes after getting to home screen and it varies
I tried flashing the bootloop fix and also wiping the dalvik/art cache and still same.
Any ideas?
UPDATE : Fixed it by using the advanced wipe and selecting everything except External Storage and OTG.

Hello, I am having issues with my phone (Optimus V) after installed a custom ROM. I have AOSP 2.3.4/CM7 and thunderc 1.1.0. My issue is that every time I reboot my phone, it goes into recovery mode and wipes all data out and restarts the phone, so I have to go through the initial setup every single time. I don't know what to do to solve this issue. Thank you very much for your help in advance.
Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik's cache, and re-install aosp's, or recover from a backup. Also, make sure you're not running - problem solved.
I just flashed the new CM7 ROM onto my Atrix. I was running the Dark Side ROM before the flash. I tried booting my phone up, it goes to the boot animation which runs for about 5 seconds, then reboots. Its cycled for 10 minutes. I pulled battery, reflashed, but the problem seems pretty persistent. Any Ideas?
it may be obvious but did you do the "3 wipes" before flashing CM7? also try "fastboot -w" if you've done wipes in recovery already before flashing
i am having a similar issue with the MOD 2 version of this rom, i was using my atrix with the hdmimirror.zip that i installed other than that the phone was just stock rooted, with an unlocked bootloader. now that i have flashed this rom ( doing all the necessary wipes and etc.) when i try to reboot i am stuck at the dual core screen. any thoughts?
Format the system partition, factory wipe/reset, wipe dalvik cache. Reboot into CWM and then go ahead and flash the ROM. That should hopefully make sure it's all clean before the install.
Hi.
Met a problem with my GT-I9300. When I shut the phone off it just reboots. The phone was rooted and running a custom rom when this started. Now I have unrooted with mobile Odin and flashed a official firmware but the problem persists.
I have even tried a battery pull. When battery is inserted again the phone remains off til I push the powerbutton. But when I try to turn it off after this it just reboots again.
Anyone else had this? Tips on what to do?
I've never had any luck fixing this problem. I always had to wipe and flash. However, as a temporary fix, you can power off from recovery.

can I ask what you are doing when you turn it off?

Just to clarify, even wipe the phone and restore it to stock completely by flashing official firmware doesnt solve it.
When I turn it off I hold powerbutton til i get the powermenu. From there I choose "turn off". Phone does what it should, screen goes off and everything, only a few seconds later the phone boots again.

If the phone was totally cleaned formatted sd card and stock firmware installed then its a hardware problem .
But my guess is it as not totally clean .
....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .

I have now tried to wipe and format sys/data/cach/sd in cwm. Flashed stock firmware via odin. Still same issue. Guess its hardware.
Thanks anyway.
This may sound strange, but is this the clock problem the Desire HD had.
In time settings, uncheck the auto update.
Change time & date to something random.
Power off and pull the battery before it reboots.
Give it a min, power up, reselect auto update and reboot.
Should be good to go. If its the same problem that is.

It happened also to me once. I flashed my rom in the same order as you did. But what my problem solved was, I made a wipe AFTER I installed the ROM. After that, I didn't had this issue anymore.
These are the steps I did...
- Get into the CWM recovery
- Wipe Data/factory reset
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Hope it works also to you...
Solved
I solved it by flashing a later official firmware - XXALF6.

Update: It's rare, but has returned to work normal and I doing nothing
Hello,
i found a solution for that problem. You will lose some sd card files.
go to settings-storage-others (or other) and mark all files. Then delete them an go to downloadmode to reflash you firmware. Reboot and the problem is missing.
Alright. So usually after every app I try to uninstall, it AUTOMATICALLY goes in the bootanimation and soft reboots.. And sometimes when I'm just using my phone as normal as can be, it just automatically soft reboots.. This came by itself unexpectedly. I have tried reflashing my rom, kernel, gapps. I've tried EVERY single kernel I can find for the Xperia Ray on XDA, I've cleared system, and reflashed the rom, I've cleared the cache and dalvik cache a million times.. It just won't stop soft rebooting. And I refuse to clear my data btw.. I'd rather use my phone like this rather then clear my data.. I've attached a logcat. If someone can please tell me what's up, that'd be great. You can see that I'm trying to uninstall DOSBOX at "I/PackageManager(19692): Removing non-system packagerg.hystudio.android.dosbox" in the logcat, and after that, everything goes haywire.
I'm using the FXP CM224, Kernel: Lupus 9.1, Gapps: gapps-jb-20121011
Seems to me that you have to wipe data urgently
That happened to me once when i flashed a rom over another rom and then when i tried to restore any app i got a soft reboot
This happens due to /data and /cache corruption
Hi,
I am using Resurrection Remix RR-N-v5.8.4-20170921 on my Xperia z2. It was running ok, but since yesterday night it hangs on Home screen within few seconds after every restart. I have tried my level best by wiping the cache and dalvik cache, reflashing the rom (including Gapps), getting into safe mode and uninstalling all newly installed application (it even hangs in the safe mode after a while).
I am trying to avoid factory reset, which might solve the issue. But a strange issue to notice is that, the system hangs a bit later if I power on the system after few hours - I am suspecting whether or not this is any hardware issue - like memory etc.
I want any kind of remedy that can be done through the bootloader - I am using the latest TWRP for Xperia Z2.
Not fixed even after factory reset and flashing the latest resurrection build
I have tried with factory reset and flashing the latest resurrection ROM available, it still hangs after sometime randomly. Is it possible for a hardware failure that may be replaced?
Update to a newer build, older builds are not supported
I have re-formatted the phone memory completely from the TWRP bootloader (taking out the memory card for safety). After that I have flashed MX ROM flashing the bootloop fix (ftf file). The device is working fine as of now.
Think I've run into the same problem with RR 5.8.5 on my Z2 - could you elaborate a little on your solution? I'm guessing by formating in TWRP you mean wiping? Is the MX ROM a stock rom? And what's the bootloop fix? Thanks for any help on the above.
