Can someone confirm that is possible to flash ROMs (official) from model X820/X821, install recovery and custom ROMs on X829 version?
I want buy this model, but I don't want make brick.

I just ordered the x829 6gb/128gb. Do I have to do anything besides get unlock bootloader, (I have and use adb) flash TWRP, then flash x820/x821 ROM and have all useable RAM and storage?

i bought it for 355€ incl. shipping.
beside the screen flickering from time to time i'm very satisfied. the flickering is no big deal and i believe it's a software/driver issue.
ressurrection remix runs perfectly smooth on it. i would recommend it for the price.

seems to be the same hardware, just pimped with more rom/ram. i assume the method will work on any variant but i haven't tried.

That's a lot of money just for some more RAM and Storage, my 4GB/32GB rosegold only cost 197€ incl shipping + insurance delivered to my door, no extra fees or taxes.
PS: No screen flickering here, only a FP sensor that falls asleep.

gearbest had it for 180€ a while ago. ram would be enough but not enough storage.
i have 20 gb left of 128, so the 32gb version is a nogo.
btw, lte band 20 is unlocked by default.

Dear friends, I am very interested in buying the model le max 2 but I am with a doubt, the x829 version is the best cost benefit among the options of 4gb of ram for being cheaper and bigger storage and I am really sure to buy this version but the My doubt is between the psossibilities of custom rom and wanted to know if it is possible to install any rom in this version x829 with 4gb and as I come from a oneplus one this question is very important for me when it comes to acquiring it. The x829 has the same hardware as the x820 so you shouldn't have any problems with flashing ROMs or whatever. Realize that some ROMs say that are functional with x82x phones. Anyway lots of people ordered this specific model some days ago when its price became similar to the x820 but with more storage. Within the next weekes people will recieve them and discuss any problem that could happen. Just take a look before flashing for ensure that everything is OK.

I have a friend that comed recently in our Galaxy S3 Club...I wanted today a new custom rom flashen on his new phone.. when I´ve noticed that his phone is... different ... I have made a few fotos.. knows anyone something about this phone? It´s a CLONE?
.. it has 512 Mb RAM... the battery, card slots are in other places... Made in Vietnam... but he thinks that is an american version of the S3?

This is without doubt a fake phone.
First it equips a micro sim card
Second the processor on the photo is a chinese kind.
And 3rd it was assembled somehow in aug 2010.

American versions have all 2gb of ram and are definitely not called i9300. and yes that's a cheap clone. Your friend got taken or he got it on purpose for financial reasons. Whatever it is it does not change the facts.

I highly doubt it because it's fake, most people including devs will have the real ones, tell your friend it's fake and try to get a refund, then get a real one from a trustworthy source, not eBay or gumtree.
If they don't give a refund report the seller to eBay or wherever it was bought from and report the seller.

I don't think so, but even if there are, you won't find it here.
Usually these cheap fake chinese phones don't have any support.
The real question is: are you still gonna keep your friend's membership in your S III club ?
It was just a question don't pull out the big guns He got ripped off and he will take measures for sure.

May or may not have had a SOD. I had it on the dock and when I picked it up I think it had to restart. All happened very quickly and it rebooted almost as quickly as when you punch the button to turn it on so I'm not sure what happened. No SOD for at least two hours and I'm not sure I had one.
It is definitely booting and rebooting on the dock. I've taken it off to see what it will do off the dock.
Ok maybe more guys can test and report back. Here is .510 ftf that should work without SOD

Hello, newbie arrived, but then I don't understand why there's a xubuntu rom with 3g working here.
I suppose xubuntu has it's own 3G drivers?
I tried KatKiss 6.x (don't remember the exact version number) for TF300T without 3G, then installed "ppp widget 2" (or "ppp widget 3"?) from Google Play and started 3g manually from this application (widget). Android will not automatically switch from Wi-Fi internet to 3G internet (as like in stock), you must switch it manually. Some bugs discovered, for example, I could connect 3G and disconnect only once, when I want to connect 3G again, I had to reboot. device. Maybe will work on some other firmwares?

any progress in this area? I have this model with 3g but at the moment i have clean orginal os from ASUS and it shows that i don't have sim card. after I put it nothigs starts. Any ideas how to configure APN?
And have you testes some new soft for this model?
i suppose it's physically defect with SIM card, or try another os (like KatKiss 6.x)

Hello everyone, i was thinking since both redmi note 4 indian varient and 4x are basically the same phones and the only major difference is lte bands then it should be possible to unlock more bands in Indian version of redmi note 4.
Have anyone tried changing the name to 4x in build.prop ?
Or unlocking via qpst ..?
Or flashing modem of 4x on 4 (flashing should have not effect since both have same roms, but who knows i havd not tried that)
There should be a software tweak since xiaomi might have some legal issues enabling more bands in India or have not considered enabling more since they were not needed for Indian market.
If anyone have tried this or any other method please post the solution in the comments.

4G frequencies supported by phone are decided by baseband (hardware), you cant mod it.
Take a look at this post, when they are present in the baseband but still blocked by the company to force users to buy new phone !!

Just check the available Bands before buying the phone!
Nobody forces you to buy a new phone - you just didn't do your homework and now you blame the manufactor for your mistake.

You can find a lot threads about unlocking bands. But noboby managed to unlock bands (some say they have but there is no evidence so I don't trust those guys).
2. My phone has all bands I need. I checked before I bought it.
3. I can post whatever I want - As long as I follow the rules. It is up to you to ignore my posts if you don't like them.
4. The thread you referred to is already closed. Read the closing post and you possibly understand.
You can do whatever you want with your phone, hack it, brick it, burn it. But it is simply a bad habit to blame someone else for your own mistakes. Just my 5 cents...
On red mi note 4 global version, the baseband version is same as on Indian unit. So, it it's the same as Indian one and has all bands as n note 4x. Any hope for bands unlock ?

It's OEM Fault that they don't launch Proper Supported Band in specific Regions. When in India, They need Band 1, 3, 5 and 40, But F*** they Didn't provided Band 1 and our **** Government, don't know **** about this. Without anything, they approve any ****s to sell in India..
AnyOne with Redmi note 4x backup Ur QCN, I will restore in Note 4 and check in India. Because same worked for Redmi 3s.
